OVERVIEW

Exacting control that will blow your mind.

Create incredibly smooth volume swells or control your effect pedal parameters with the Dunlop DVP1XL Volume (XL). Solidly-built in an aluminum chassis with aggressive non-slip tread, the DVP1XL is ready for the road. Our patent-pending Band Drive allows for a smooth range of motion without the fear of breakage or change in feel or range, and for maximum comfort and precision, the DVP1XL's rocker tension is fully adjustable.

When using the DVP1XL as an expression pedal, you can use the internal pot to set the minimum level of the parameter you're controlling with the rocker. If you want to reverse the function of the heel-down and toe-down positions, the DVP1XL has an internal switch that allows you to do so.

Along with Volume, FX and Output jacks, the DVP1XL also features a convenient Tuner output for silent tuning onstage.

I always wanted a volume pedal but didn't care for some I had tried. This pedal uses a smooth metal strip instead of a plastic gear which can get dirty/gummy over time. Hope it will be low maintenance. It's very smooth. It feels good using it. I may pick up more to use as expression pedals for my DAW work as it is much more ergonomic and controllable in use compared to the cheap M-Audio ones I own. It is significantly heavier as well so it stays put. I like the dedicated tuner output that lets me keep my Korg tuner keyed up and visible weather the volume is on or off. Highly recommended.

I'm a 62 year old working musician from Seattle, WA.
The Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal operates beautifully and has a great feel underfoot because of the adjustable tension, I also like that it doesn't require any power to operate.
I do have 2 issues. First issue which is not a serious problem is that this pedal is huge in length. It's 2 inches longer than my Dunlop Slash Wah pedal. I wasn't expecting that, but I still got it on my pedal board.
The serious design issue with this pedal is that when using 90 degree jacks, they can't plug in and head straight downward to under my pedalboard, they either have to go sideways or you have to use a straight jack. The base of the pedal in front will not allow the clearance. That became an issue for me and although I got it worked out. Input jack goes in sideways, output jack sideways and I am forced to use a straight jack for the tuner output. I'm unhappy with how it looks aesthetically.

A good thing to have, very smooth and simple to use. The casting is solid and impressing. This will probably outlast me. The only drawback is it weighs as much as a bowling ball.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

I bought this to use with my EMU B3. It is a keyboard players dream pedal !!!! I used to use a Boss FV 50 H, which has a very short travel from off to full on, which is good for guitar swells and such, but not for organ performance. The Dunlop DVP1XL has a long travel, and is very well built. No noise, or tone suck. This pedal works like the pedal on my Hammond organ. I have bought few products that I am this pleased with!!!

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

This is an extra large pedal. If Dunlop actually gave measurements you may find this too big for pedalboard and not want to drag this around with you. This volume pedal sounds great in front of my Bad Cat amp. Sadly on bottom of pedal a "made in China " sticker!

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

Got this to use on stage, its a great pedal and I am very happy with it. In she studio I noticed an
extremely subtle (probably 1%) gain loss at max volume, was working on a song where it was noticeable.
Still a great 4-4.5 star pedal.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

After the usual noisy pot developed on my VP Jr. and struggling with the decision to have JHS mod it, I saw this Dunlop pedal and figured I would give it a try. It is very large and it I can't fully close my Pedal-Train hard case with this one on the board, but it operates so smoothly. I greatly prefer it to the VP Jr. for volume swells. Buy the smaller sized Dunlop model and you won't regret it!

Got this pedal as a SDOTD, it does everything its supposed to do. Smooth action, and it stays where you set it. Heavy pedal well built, should last a very long time. All metal jacks make very secure contact.

Silky smooth volume control, doubles for expression, has dedicated tuner out, and doesn't need a battery.. This product is a winner on all levels, I have plenty of room but this thing is huge dwarfs 90% of the wah pedals size wise..

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

Always wanted a volume pedal for lead and chord swells. This pedal is sturdy, the rocker mechanism is smooth and almost friction-less (no belts or chains). The volume swell is gradual and smooth. The pedal is very sturdy with a heavy metal casing and foot pedal. I haven't tried the expression option yet. I am glad I got this as I always wanted one and I think this is the best quality build for what I needed. I got this as a Stupid Deal so I feel like I got a great bargain. No regrets!!

I picked this pedal up on a Deal of the Day for about half of the regular price. It is a great volume pedal. Very smooth change in volume as you back off. This thing is built like a tank so I see no reason it won't hold up.

Comments about Dunlop DVP1XL Volume Pedal:

One feature that makes this pedal outstanding is the one feature that I didn't want.. lots of weight. Great functionality, doubles as a controller with dedicated tuner output (useful as an always full-on output to a alternate effect chain input). If you need solid, rugged, stage-ready super duty, this is the pedal for you. But, man, my pedal board is friggin heavy enough without it! Guess I should hit the gym.
