OVERVIEW

A boost/cut pedal that handles the job of boosting whatever instrument you plug into it.

The Tone Job is a complete tone enhancement tool designed around a stereo preamp to cover as much frequency range as possible. What does this mean for you, the user? It means it can handle a wide variety of frequencies from electrical guitars, bass guitar, synthesizer machines and just about anything else you can plug in. The treble, bass and middle controls will cut or boost up to 20db. In addition to that, the level control will boost the signal (post EQ) up to 5 times the input depending on where the dial is set.

FEATURES
Level: Post EQ volume control. Can boost the signal up to 5x the input. Unity is around 10 O'Clock.
Treble: Noon is flat, boost is clockwise from noon, cut is counter clockwise from noon.
Bass: Noon is flat, boost is clockwise from noon, cut is counter clockwise from noon.
Middle: Noon is flat, boost is clockwise from noon, cut is counter clockwise from noon.
Treble affects frequencies from around 2k Hz up, bass affects frequencies from around 500 Hz down. The middle is an adjustable resonant filter acting as a midrange control with it's center frequency around 1k Hz. Treble and bass response are dependent on middle control settings.

Comments about EarthQuaker Devices Tone Job EQ and Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:

This thing is amazing. Just amazing. I have an orange rocker 15 and the clean channel has no eq, and no preamp as far as I know, its supposed to give you a totally accurate clean signal. Well, I don't care for it and my fuzz pedals hate it. The tone job acts as a preamp with a very deep eq, so it vastly improves the sound of any guitar or pedal with this amp. I can sculpt a perfect tone around any combination of effects, no matter what guitar Im using (single coil or humbucker equipped). I can also dial in a perfect clean or fine tune your dirty tone. Easily the most useful pedal in my arsenal, its always on. I run it at 18v, which increases the amount of clean boost, and provides a much clearer tone, with little added breakup. Even turning it up all the way it adds no noticable compression and little in the way of distortion (compared to the spark boost or a ts type boost). Each frequency control seems to be set to the guitars sweet spot for that particular freq. They all have a very dramatic effect, while never being overwhelming, making all of the sounds available useable in some context. I have an MXR 10 band eq, and I MUCH prefer this. I like to dial in many different tones either to have another sound available midsong, or simply to finetune my rig to suite the many styles I play in, which is very time consuming process on a 10 band. With this, it takes no time, and it is just as capable as the 10 band, just not at bizarre or extreme eq cuts/boosts.
