EBS

The low-frequency power to move heaven and earth.

The EBS OctaBass is a first-class, all-analog octave divider. It creates a single note one octave below the pitch of the note you play, even recognizing two- or three-note chords. The incredibly fast tracking circuitry lets you play at the speed you want, not at the speed the divider will allow. It has Normal and Octave level knobs as well as a switch that lets you select from three modes: High (synth), Mid (classic divider), and Low (sub-shaking lows).

Features

  • Analog octave divider
  • 3 divider modes: High (synth), Mid (classic divider), and Low (sub-shaking lows)
  • Recognizes 2- or 3-note chords
  • Fast tracking

You've got new lows to sink to with the OctaBass. Order now!

The "Octabass" pedal from Ebs is awesome!Octabass black label pedal is the best octavider pedal I ever layed my hands on. It's sturdy built and stays in place, it triggs superbly and "Range" option gives me many different sounds to choose from. When you go low it stays low(doesn't steal the low end from your bass sound when it's in working mode, which is a major issue with other brands). The "true bypass" feature is also great in the black label version. The signal goes directly between the jacks, uneffected when switched off. I've used other brands such as Mxr, Boss etc.... "Ebs Octavider" is the real deal....

I bought this pedal thinking it would give me some really low notes (at least a low A, preferably a low G), but the lowest I could get was a D. Which makes this pedal pointless if you have a 5-string bass because I already have that note. It might work better with passive basses, but not so much on my Spector. I did get it to do a low A one time when I turned the bass all the way up but it sounded terrible. So much for extra time on the 4-string...Also there is no volume control, and the output is significantly louder when turned on than when its off. On a lighter note it does make some cool sounds with higher notes, especially when you set it to hear the note you play and the note an octave lower. It kept the sound clean. But I really didn't need that so I sent it back.

    • Doesn't Track On Chords

    Best Uses

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

I got this to use with guitar, so maybe its better with bass. I was hoping this thing tracked chords better. It really doesn't. Some intervals are better than others, root & 3rd seemed to work a little better than rooth & 5th. Both were glitchy in an unmusical way. 3 note chords, forget it. Having owned both, I prefer the MXR bass octave deluxe, however I'm returning this and pretty much giving up on my quest for a bass octave pedal that can track chords.

      Outstanding as usual!

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

Overall this is a very good octave pedal. If you have the cash and want a quality product that will last forever, then buy this pedal. You won't be disappointed!
It's EBS! What else can you say? Really good stuff, and this pedal is not exception. Tracks great and sounds awesome. Pricey, yes, but worth it if you want a quality sound.
EBS quality is second to none. That's why they are at the top as far as bass amps and pedals.
I give it an 8 for value even though the pedal is worth the money, it's still really high priced for a metal casing and a circuit board!

      Excellent pedal

      By Wardy

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

I've had such a hard time finding an octave pedal that tracks not just well, but at all, so I took the risk in getting the EBS and I'm sure glad I did. Octave pedals are all too expensive as far as I'm concerned, but this one does the job well. The poly tracking is 50/50, but the mono is perfect all the way down to low G. The "mid" setting sounds the best. Combine with some light distortion and you have a nice, full growl. If you can stomach the price, you should be happy with this pedal.

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

This pedal is so great. When i first got it, it took a little while to break it in but after a few minutes of figuring it out i got it working and it was amazing. It is great for adding that extra power to a riff. My band mates were amazed at great it sounded. I highly encourage you to get this pedal. It is a little bit expensive but it is worth it.

      Octabass

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

I tried out all the octaver pedals I could, and this one came out on top. As much as I'd rather pay as little as possible, the EBS sacrificed the least tone, and I love the sounds I get out of this little guy.

      More natural sounding than MXR

      By Mac-c2-8i

      from Indiana

Comments about EBS OctaBass Triple Mode Octave Divider Pedal:

Great pedal, I used MXR for a long time but it made my bass sound a bit synthesized. This pedal goes lower without breaking up and your bass will sound more like your bass only lower. It doesn't track the chords as well as it claims, but again is better than MXR. Tracking is unbeleivably fast. Pricey, but a good upgrade if you use it alot.
