This product does an EXCELLENT job for it's *intended* purpose - it electrically isolates connections between two pieces of gear. It's NOT a noise reducer for gtr distortion pedals (for that task, consider a unit like the Rocktron HUSH or a gate like the Boss NS2 or MXR M-135). A typical application where the Ebtech is used would be to connect the line-out of a bass head through the Ebtech to the PA. Often times, the PA and the bass amp will be powered on different 'mains' circuits - that is the source of 'ground loop hum'. The Ebtech uses a transformer to pass the signal magnetically with no electrical connection. In doing so, it breaks the loop and eliminates the hum. It is MUCH safer than the other common solution - using a ground lifter on either the PA or the bass amp. I keep the Ebtech in my gig bag along with an inexpensive plugin type AC outlet circuit tester. They are indispensable tools in maintaining safety and eliminating noise at gigs.

I bought this thing a while back and it didnt work at all. I used to use a wall wort to power 13 pedals no my board and was very confident that this would solve my problem. Unfortunately it only added more buzzing to my signal and beleived I may have purchased a dud. Eventually I bought the 1spot adapter and that solved my problem, to a degree. Perhaps later on, I'll buy another and hope it works for me.

This does not work, don't waste you hard earned cash. Stay away.
Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
this thing does exactly what I bought it for, but when i use it, it seems to drastically cut the sound signal- basically making me turn up the volume even more, just to get heard... it definately gets rid of that annoying buz from ground loops, but beware that if you don't have any headroom as far as volume goes, you will be dissapointed...

Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
im in a band that does many live shows and i always have a problem with feed back and even with my noise suppressor i still get a ground hum. this thing works perfectly but if you are using a head like mine (i have a peavey valve king) your gound hum is most likely cased by the plug not by any loop so this has no value at all. if this is you i recommend the Ebtech Hum X Hum Exterminator. im ganna return this and get that
Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
This device reduced my 60HZ cycle hum about 75%. I use a SansAmp PSA-1 pre-amp, a tubeworks power amp, and a les paul special. I placed the hum eliminator between the les paul and the SansAmp.

Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
Will not quiet down the little bit of noise put out by my boss ds-1 distortion pedal, unacceptable performance.
Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
The Hum Eliminator was just what I needed to get rid of that nasty 60hz hum I had going on from a ground loop. I couldn't get rid of it for the life of me.
Comments about Ebtech 2-Channel Hum Eliminator:
This things works. No problems whatsoever. I was getting the AC HUM through my mixer and onto my recordings. After placing this baby in line, it completely killed the annoying hum. I even tried bypassing it to see if there was any damage to other parts of the signal and nothing else was harmed. I did come up with the alternative to cutting the ground plug off of powerstrip. This worked too, but I would suggest this better route.
