Comments about Eden Microtour Portable 2W Mini Bass Amp:

This is perfect for practicing on my sofa with the amp sitting on my coffee table. It sounds best with my passive 4 strings. Got a little farty with an active 5 string, but you can minimize that by turning down the bass volume. Headphone amp sounds great, too. I could imagine jamming with one acoustic guitarist in my living room (or a guy with a mini guitar amp), but not in a larger space than that.

I am a professional bassist with couch potato tendencies, so keeping this amp and a bass next to my seat enables me to practice while lazy.

Comments about Eden Microtour Portable 2W Mini Bass Amp:

I bought the Eden Microtour to use with my Ukulele Bass. U-Basses have are not very loud; an amplifier is really a requirement. Well, a miniature bass really requires a miniature amp. In steps the Microtour!

    Reality time...
It is a plastic, battery powered mini amp. It sounds like, has the power of, and weighs like a battery powered amp. ANY amp that you plug into a wall is going to have more juice and more bottom.

Will it keep up with a group of acoustic musicians? Probably not. Will you to add some volume to an already anemic acoustic bass' output? Absolutely. You might even be heard around the campfire. If your buddies don't dig in too harshly.

It certainly beats having nothing at all!

BUT... If you want something fits under the couch, slides into the desk drawer, can sit on the end table next to your easy chair and not require a wall outlet; this little guy does that.

Sure you're not going to blow away the neighbors. Heck, you won't blow away your couch mate. But isn't that the point? If you want a simple way to add some audible sound to your bass, then this does that just fine. If you don't crank it too high, and don't pre-amp it too much, it will actually reproduce the full spectrum of your bass' tone. Albeit at about a volume comparable to a parlor guitar.

And lastly, there's also a headphone out; plug in your earbuds and jam even quieter if needed.

    What's missing?
Some more mass or folded horn technology to enhance its output further.
    A belt clip.
A simple hand-hold or handle that folds flat.
Re-position the 'head' so that a 90-degree cord input will rotate full circle.

    What's it got?
The ability to go without a wall outlet.

You're just not going to busk your bass on a busy street corner.

Comments about Eden Microtour Portable 2W Mini Bass Amp:

This is a battery operated two watt bass amp. ( A power adaptor is also available. ) It has a nice beefy tone and is surprisingly loud, all things considered. I used it today to practice along with songs I had loaded on a laptop, which worked out great. Soon I will pack it off to some woods, or a beach, hillside or mountain top, and finally fulfill my inner fourteen year old hippie boy dreams of playing electric bass out in nature. I waited 45 years, but it was worth it! Eden, how about a backpack carrier so we can play while walking, fording small streams or hiking trails? I can't be the only person who would want this...
