I wanted a simple unit that was easy to haul about and operate, yet had a wide range of good sound. Because I knew from past experiance with Electro-Harmonix`s products, I had no second thoughts about buying one. Once the sound I wanted for each guitar was dialed in and set, there was nothing else to do but let it do it`s job. I bought this for live work, but I have now also tried it out in studio, and it`s fine. Yep it`s not your high class rack mount reverb unit [I already had that], but then I didn`t expect it to be. But it sounds good and for my chores, it does real well. One plus that all the Electro-Harmonic products have, is it`s built road tough. Well worth the price when moving from place to place.

Did my research, read the reviews and ordered this unit. I play Shoegaze and Dreampop so I am way picky about my reverbs. I run a modded Peavy Valve King 1x12 and dropped this into the effects loop. This unit was an out of control wash, literally. Nothing but a wash of indistinguishable noise. I spend 45 minutes trying to dial in a good hall...big wash, moved the room and plate and spent another 30 minutes trying to dial those sounds in. Maybe I had a bad unit but I got nothing but crap from this pedal. I was way disappointed took it back for a refund. Not worth the price tag. Going back to my search for a RV3.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal is absolutely amazing did everything I wanted and more. I have only had this pedal for about a week and I all ready love it. It has so many effects for a reverb that the possibility of sounds are endless. I would recommend this pedal to anyone willing to spend over $200 if not the holy grail by EHX is an amazing reverb too.

Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
Love this pedal. I can now fill the room with a wall of sound!
Too many options! Fine tune your exact space.
A tiny bit trebley, but that's what I heard this pedal would do. The dampening knob helps keep it under control.
A bit of change required to buy, but worth every penny. Wouldn't live without it now.
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I needed a reverb type pedal to use with my amp, although a great amp the reverb became to overwelming at times and i found it difficult to get a good sound out of it. Im not to crazy about the mode knob though, a video on EHX website says to use the side of your foot and that just doesnt seem safe to me (I'm a big guy and dont want to break the knob) but that would be my only complaint about this pedal. As much as I love the reverbs that the cathedral produces it doubles as an excellent delay (on the echo mode), i use it with quarter note or dotted eight delays to fill up soft parts in a song or to get a big tail on a swell. I also really like the tap tempo on this thing, it make it great for live settings.
The Cathedral is a monster! It can do pretty much anything you need it to do!
Its built like a tank and i havent had any problems with it yet! Only gets a nine because of the mode knob.
Its EHX! Definitely stands out among the rest, and the presets are rediculous. It does alot and is worth every penny.

About as close to perfect as you can be. You would really have to picky and know your verbs to not be happy with this thing. It's got to be up there on the list though. I don't know how it compares really primo verbs, but at some point, it just becomes a matter of taste. This thing is worth owning unless you are an absolute snob about verbs, which happens. Otherwise, if you are just looking for a really great verb, this has to be on the list.
This thing has a really good feature set. Every knob does something really useful. You can absolutely dial in a great verb with this pedal, period. It also has presets and delay. Fullest featured verb I've ever played. Might even compare with a TC Nova Verb or other very tweekable verb in the feature department.
All EHX pedals are constructed of the same metal housing, and use a highly durable metal switch. It should hold up forever. I give it a 9 because the knobs are a bit small, and the whole apparatus is a bit dinky. GREAT for pedal board space, but it does feel like a male foot in army boots could break something.
It's expensive, but it's worth it. Honestly, I would rarely give anything this expensive a good value rating, but it just blows away a verb, and it kicks the verbs I have on my two multi-effect pedals.
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
The cathedral reverb is surely a religous experience. Its top of the food chain. Makes all of your guitar playing, lead and rhythme sound very polished and professional. Good for recording and live. Dont know what i did without it. Well actualey i do. I use to use the reverb sring on my jcm 800 but that has now been retired. Not in the league of this bad boy. so do yourself a favour. Cathedral is King or Pope. whatever...buy one...
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I got this pedal two months ago. Great pedal and I really love being able to infinitely hold a reverberated note while playing over. The only thing that I dislike is that EH was too cheap to use one of the more modern, non-torroidal power supplies that not only take up less space but don't get hot (especially underneath a pedal board shelf) and since they maintain you can use only their big, clunky power supply, I can't find any info anywhere on how much current it actually draws to decide if something else could safely power it. That nuisance aside, it sounds great and I love the addition of plate reverb in this pedal. And with extra control of the flerb setting, it's not quite as useless as in the original Holy Grail.
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I purchased this pedal because I wanted a versatile reverb pedal that I could really tweak to create the most specific reverb for my sound. Even though it's a pricey pedal, it's actually still quite a bang for your buck. It includes the Holy Grail (which, if this pedal hadn't been created, I'd have gone with), and then adds an echo, delay, and several other reverb options, which really makes this quite a versatile pedal. I play two different styles of guitar. The first of which is a reverb-soaked 60s clean electric. The other is a more sloppy garage-rock style (which incorporates this pedal as well as a Big Muff Pi), and I must say, this pedal suits both of my completely different styles quite well. Anyway, the thing that really impresses me about this pedal is, I originally bought this pedal to just fill in what I was missing as far as reverb, but because this is such a powerful pedal with a wide range of sounds, it ended up taking my songs and opening them up to whole new areas which I would not have been able to envision without it, and that's saying a lot as far as a reverb pedal would go, considering that reverb is typically not one of the major sound changing pedals. Anyway, I'm rambling now, so I think I'll stop typing and go plug in my cathedral.
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
I own the Cathedral Reverb, and the Memory Man. Both are great pedals. I agree with all the raves about them. What I want to mention is that EH is serious about their AC being the only one to pair with these pedals. I recently bought an SKB pedal board. I placed and connected all of my pedals using the SKB materials including the power chords. When I tested the board. I got a rhythmic popping noise. I turned everything off, and I engaged only my first pedal. That worked fine. I continued trouble shooting this way until I isolated the problem (both the EH pedals). Then it struck me that I was ignoring the instruction to use only the EH power supplies. When I put these into the mix, the problem disappeared. Thankfully, I didn't damage anything.Bottom line: follow directions. :)
Comments about Electro-Harmonix Cathedral Stereo Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal offers a wide range of very usable, musical effects. The delay is very high quality and very adjustable. The tap pedal is very useful for quickly changing the delay time, and it would be easy to sync the delay time with the beat of a song for a cool effect. The reverbs are also very nice sounding. The "flerb" seems a little silly to me, but it's expected on any EH reverb pedal. The controls are fairly straightforward, and small tweak of each one reveals its function quickly. The preset mode would require a dip into the user manual, though. As I said before, there is a wide range of musical sounds. I especially like the reverse delay, which is strange sounding, but not over-the-top weirdness. The pedal could easily become a classic, as it effectively (haha geddit?) combines quality reverb and delay in a sturdy and attractive package.
