i had been wanting one of these for along time and finally got my hands on one. Unfortunately, i was slightly disappointed. The pedal alters the EQ on certain settings and is VERY loud. it isn't as tweakable as i expected it to be either. Also, when you adjust the range, instead of it cutting off from just the top end as i expected, it cuts off the range from both ends. It has some cool sounds, but its not for me, i'm trading it in towards a line 6 mm-4, more options and more tweakable then the worm. EHX makes great pedals, and this one may work for some of you, it just doesn't do it for me

Used with KMD GV-60 (oldish, hybridish 1x12 combo), tele with no neck p/u and FRED in the bridge, Tubeworks Real Tube, Ibanez analog delay (circa '87) to play rawk and punk rawk. The E-H Worm is four effects, but you can only use one at a time. You get rate and range control over each effect. Range acts sort of like depth and sort of like level. I'd rather have access to rate, depth & level. The effects themselves aren't too bad, but there's a lot of compromising going on here. The housing is big. You're stuck with their AC adapter. The background woosh is very loud. It eats up high end clarity. It is good for adding noise blasts at the end of a part (turn rate up all the way and it can be like that one tune on You're Living All Over Me); the cocked-wah thing is good and, most important for me, I found out that I don't really like phaser, tremolo or vibrato in pedal form for one convenient price.

Wormy Goodness

By Thinman on Willow

from New Orleans

I really, really dug the worm. The Tremolo is to die for. Phaser and Vibrato are very trippy and cool sounding. The Wah is not something I really use but it sounds good too. It is noisy if you use the high gain channel. I have a Mesa and it tends to get a little squawky. But if you dial back the gain to 50% its great. I play a Les Paul and I just can't get enough of this pedal.

Great Vibrato

By Chuck-BeHb7

from minnesota

This pedal has about the best pitch-shifting vibrato compared to Roto-vibe, Line Six, and Vibro-Thang. There isnt as much effect as you may want, but the tone and volume of your guitar comes through accurately. The other effects are good, but switching to them on stage is clumsy. However, if you are looking for that Magnatone Vibrato without the sick warble, keep the Worm on that one effect.Use original adapter! 24 VDC

Just Depends

By Snackcake

from ARkansas

This pedal has some amazing features. The wah is to die for, and the phaser and tremolo are not bad. I don't ever use the vibrato due to the style I play. The phaser however does lack versatility. It has a good simple vintage phaser, but it can't go crazy like a Boss. Also, this pedal is very loud, so a noise supressor would help.

Stay away!!!

By TweedTele

from IL

This is the worst effect I've ever used. Like everyone else, I was sold on its analog anatomy and multifunctionality. However, it's too noisy to be useable, alters the eq of the guitar, is the largest effect I've ever seen (I made the mistake of ordering online before seeing it), and is altogether unusable. This thing is worthless.

Good effects for the price!

By PabloG

from Albuquerque NM

Tremelo, Phase, and Vibrato are good. The Wah effect is very intresting in Auto and Manual positions, especialy when changing the Rate in realtime (have to turn with foot, not easy).

Kind Of Sound the Same

By Anonymous

The tremolo is amazing on this machine, i don't think i've ever heard tremolo with such amazing tone. But the phaser was the only thing i was disappointed with really. very very nice quality and tone.

Effect approvals vary by taste

By TN

from Cordova, TN

Difference people use different effects by taste or style. I noticed one guy hates the wah, and the other one loves it and vice versa on the other effects this pedal offers. I must say, however, that these DO NOT sound all the same like some one said. Sheesh.
