Comments about Empress Effects Reverb Effects Pedal:
Wow. I had just bought a Hall of Fame Reverb before I ordered this. I thought I would use the Empress for the wild stuff (ghost, lofi, swell) and Hall of Fame would be my go to for spring and traditional reverbs. After I played the Empress I immediately put the Hall of Fame for sale online. The spring, studio, room, and hall reverbs on this sound like studio quality reverbs. The Hall of Fame couldn't touch it in regards to clarity. In comparison to the Empress the HoF seemed to slightly damper my tone. I A/B'd extensively and the Empress sounds more realistic and doesn't damper the highs of the dry signal. My guitar with the pedal off sounds exactly the same through the Empress but with Reverb behind it. With the HoF my guitar sounds slightly darker with rolled off highs. No crispness like the Empress. I'd put this against a Strymon any day of the week. Not to mention it has saveable presets, stereo in and out, and it can be updated via SD card firmware updates. I've yet to dive into the full features but this is a keeper and will NEVER leave my board.
Now forget you read this review because I should be the only person with Reverb this good....
