Unusually loud for its wattage and size, it can hold its own for just about any daily situation. Features active/passive input pad selector, gain and master volume controls, tuner out jack, effects loop, XLR out jack, tuner mute with flashing indicator, power amp and preamp clip indicators, a limiter select switch, wedge cabinet design, black Tolex covering , and metal grille. Tone controls include bass, treble, parametric-mid controls (level and frequency), and an Enhance button.

I purchased this as a practice amp, but as Fender advertised, it is more than that. Plays quite loud, and unlike the Bassman 100 or 200, the 60's output is @ 8 Ohms into its 8 Ohm nominally rated speaker (I suspect the 100 might be the very same amp but it gets a 100 watt rating due to its 4 Ohm speaker impedance). You could comfortably use this amp in small venues (rooms under 1500 sq ft). This amp has a very low noise floor. The volume can be set at "8" before any apreciable background noise is present. The limiter works very well. Perhaps too well - that is, with the limiter engaged the volume and EQ can be set to deliver a lot of bass without clipping the pre or power amps, but there is subtle, yet annoying crackle out of the woofer to remind you that you are driving it too hard. Fit and finish are first rate. This amp weighs in at 50 lbs., so it is not ultra portable, but the 50 lbs undoubtedly helps contributes to its sonic benefit. Nice thing is, you can daisy chaine this to another Bassman 60 for more reinforcement and dispersion, or to a Bassman 200 (wouldn't bother with the Bassman 100)- that would give any amateur bassist all the output you'd ever need.

I've owned this amp for about 5 years. And yes it does buzz at all volumes. It sounds ok when playing but only truly sounds great with a noise reducer. It has been great for practice and small gigs but there are some things I dislike. The kickback, don't bass frequencies travel best parallel to the ground? So what's the advantage? It's just a bigger heavier box than it needs to be. Otherwise the effects loop, tuner jack, line out, all make this amp very versatile. I just think there are better amps for practice for less money. Say the Orange 35 combo? Hmmmm

NOT A BAD BANG FOR THE BUCK

    Pros

    • Great tone
    • Hey It's A Fender
    • reasonable price

    Cons

    • Awkward To Carry Around
    • No headphone jack
    • Odd Shape Monitor Style
    • Only one input

    Best Uses

    • Jamming at home
    • Small gigs

I've had this amp for about 10 years now, and overall I think it's a good bass amp. Good price, too. My biggest gripe is its monitor style "kick-back" design. Because of it's odd shape it's hard and awkward to carry around. The control knobs protrude out and if you're not careful you could bend or break one of them off when moving or carrying. Great tone for bass, but would not use for a keyboard amp. I tried that and it sounds a little muddy.

Great for small groups and practice. Simple to use and the tilt back is great when used as a monitor

    Awesome Amp!

I've used this amp for a number of years with audiences 50-250 people with my keyboard. Sound quality is wonderful. It holds the high notes as well as the low tones without any shrieks or rumbles - even at high volumes. I've placee amp on casters because its heavy for a female to haul about. And I don't think I'll ever part with it because I've not yet seen or heard an amp I like better. I also love the kick back feature. Its great for projecting sound in other directions. I highly recommend!!!

    Fender Bassman 60

This Bass amp is a piece of crap. It Buzzes at all volume levels. Don't buy it. I have an old Sears BXL60 Solid State Bass Amp that would put this amp to shame. I can't believe that Fender actually made this amp! What were they thinking? If you don't have a lot of cash to spend. Buy a Behringer BX 1200, it is a much better choice.

The best amp I've ever owned!

    By dstoppi2001

The tone on this amp is amazing!!! I've owned this beast for about a year it it has the deep lows for hard rock, and the cristal clear highs for slap. The amp is a well voiced ported bass, and with all the great quality of this American made amp you won't be let down.

This amp get the job done and then some.

This amp is loud first off, louder then any of the other 60 watt amps I've had. It also sounds great loud with the limiter on there is little to no distortion. The feature also help to get the crisp slap sound. Nice amp for the price
