Great value, great sound

Features:

It has a good amount of versatility between the 3 channels, and each one has good flexibility for the tone.  It would be nice if it had a headphone jack, because it's pretty loud at the lowest volume, so if my family is sleeping, I have to plug into my computer.  I also wish it could be used as a head to drive a cabinet.

Quality:

Sturdy build, nice craftsmanship.

Value:

I got a refurbished one, so I got this for such a great price.  For my purposes, I will probably never have to buy another amp in my life barring breakdown of the unit itself.

Overall:

This thing has an amazing clean tone, which is what I wanted.  It has more than enough volume for practicing and should be sufficient for club gigs. Despite this volume, it's actually relatively easy to carry around.  Get it, fine tune your clean sound and then build your effects set up and you'll love it.  I quit playing for about 10 years, and am coming back and I can say that I'm am much happier with this than anything I played through in the first 10 years of playing and gigging.

Features:

I bought mine about 1 month ago. I've had several other amps in my days. I'm very pleased with the Fender Frontman. I found that at the correct setting I get enough distortion that I'm not getting any effects pedal's right now but, I might get a Digitech RP down the road. And to the guy who said the cabnet was made with of partical board and really gave such a bad review but,he still bought the amp and gives a terrible review. What an idiot. It's a like in one review, the person said if you don't kick it around, and take care of the way a delicate pc.of electrical equitment should, you should'nt have any concern about a made well pc.of musical equipement.

Quality:

The way I take of musical gear, my front man will out live me.

Value:

This amp is made well,  Does'nt have all the bells and whistle's on it. But for what the price. My best friend, we jam alot together. When he asked me what the wattage was. He told me I did good.

Overall:

I love the leavel of distortion. and the Clean Setting is nice and super smooth. the first time i used it,  I started on the channel with no drive to the channel with heavey drive and was surprised of all the differant effects you can get.

Even Better Than Expected

Features:

If this amp had a footswitch for the reverb she would get a 10 from me.

Quality:

Someone in a prior review commented on the cabinet being made out of "particle board". This amp is very well made and if you treat it like what it is ( A piece of electronic equipment) and not a bowling ball. I don't see why it should not hold up for years. Try to find a piece of average furniture these days that isn't made out of particle board.

Value:

You are not going to beat this amp for the price!!!!! I've owned Fender's,Peavey's & Crate's in the past and the "clean channel" on this amp is the best I've ever heard.

TUBES?????See my opinion under overall rating. Unless you play like Atkins,King or Clapton...No body can tell the difference anyway.

Overall:

I first tried out my Telecaster through the Frontman and was very satisfied with the crisp clear signal (NO HISS STATIC OR ANY AMBIENT NOISE).A previous post about the volume level working from 0 through 2 was absolutely correct. The volume can be adjusted where it can be used at low level as well as crank it out. I have a fairly small studio but it is acoustically very good and volume @3 filled the room.

NOW...The surprise came when I plugged in my Taylor 410CE to port 2. OH MY GOSH. It sounded absolutely fantastic. So this amp will cover many bases from ACOUSTIC to DOWN & DIRTY.

The spring reverb is exactly that "an original spring reverb". If you bump the amp or jump up and down next to it you are going to hear the spring rattle because that's the way it works.

Last but not least when I was a kid my Dad hobbied in T.V.Repair, I learned enough back then to know that SOLID STATE was PROGRESS: Tube's actually wear out and are Extremely sensative to any kind of shock or vibration, temperature etc...  Why do you think the BOSS1600 recorder has been in production for going on for at least 8 years in a row with the only change being a larger hard-drive, and there is not a TUBE in the thing.

Fits my needs

Features:

Basically it has what you need with a good sound.  Need more?  Get an effects pedal.

Quality:

A Fender amp., made to their specs., in China. Get used to it, most things are.  The 5 year warranty means something too--they stand behind it.  Use it but no need to abuse it.

Value:

The cost is right where I wanted to be.  A good replacement for me.

Overall:

For me, it's all that I need.  I'm not a Pro, Semi-pro, or in a band.  It's just for my fun only and the price was right.  The 2 -12inch speakers are fine sounding and I will not need to think of having to changing them out.  I don't care if the wood cabinet is not expensive 1 inch plywood or that it doesn't have casters.  The Fender name is on it and the size and appearance looks like the bigger, more expensive Fender amps. Very nice black covering and silver grill cloth. It just seems to be what I,(average guy) needs.  No need to get over technical on everything.
