I was shopping for a new light bass amp, and saw this little Fender Rumble 30 at the local music shop. Plugged it in, and was pretty underwhelmed. Out the gate the floor model hissed like a snake. Loudly. Turned down the treble and mids -- no change. Undeterred, I plugged in first a passive then an active bass -- both single pole and humbucker type basses. Volume was a real problem -- not much gain, and the Rumble 30 kept it's viper demeanor. It is too noisy for studio recording, lacks gain for live settings, so I took a pass. Fender can do better.

Comments about Fender Rumble 30 30W 1x10 Bass Combo Amp:

I checked novice because I am new to bass, but having been playing guitar for decades. I need a small, portable bass amp for practice AND the small gigs I play at: local farmer's markets, coffee shops, and some bike nights. This amp is PERFECT for my needs, compact enough to fit in a trailer I tow behind my motorcycle, yet enough power to provide the warm, deep bass with enough volume for my gigs. For the price: it can't be beat. Having played with this one, if I ever decide I do need power, I will get the 75 watt version. But this 30 watt version suits me just fine for now.

Comments about Fender Rumble 30 30W 1x10 Bass Combo Amp:

I've been playing some local jazz/blues and a bit of bluegrass at small venues. My Bassman would be way overkill in both visual presence and power. I needed something portable with enough power and versatility to carry these small gigs. This Rumble will do that very nicely. I've played it a bit in my studio and it faithfully retains the tone of my Ric, my P and my J. I also picked up an acoustic/electric for those times when I can get by without an amp at all and the Rumble does just fine adding some warmth to it. Overall, this is a bargain. I got the blonde version on a Stupid Deal which makes it a stupid good bargain. Nice.

Used with a Les Paul- for lead ,I have tried Mustangs, Princetons, Frontmans, I haven't found one I like. If Fender would cut the left half off a Twin Reverb, I would try that.A 35lb amp with 10" to 12" speaker with CLEAN sound.

Comments about Fender Rumble 30 30W 1x10 Bass Combo Amp:

This is a great bass amp. I've had it since March, and it is fantastic. I know it is only 30W, but despite it's lack of projection in a bass tone, I am only judging it on other sound qualities, and everything else. It's super easy to use, you get control off your bass's preamp and the preamp on the amp, and you can really find your perfect sound with it. It's like a lot of amps in some ways; it leaks when treble is turned up, and it sounds muffled when bass is turned up, so other than that, this is a terrific bass amp. Definitely get something bigger if you can, like the 75W, 150W, or even a 350W if you think you need it. Great Amp!

This is a great bass amp. I was undecided between the Fender Rumble 30 and the Ampeg equivalent. The sales associated who I spoke with helped me make my decision, and I couldn't be more pleased. This amp sounds great, including through the headphones jack. You can't go wrong with this amp for practicing in the home, which is what I intend to do with it. Highly recommended.

Comments about Fender Rumble 30 30W 1x10 Bass Combo Amp:

I have been a big fan of Fender's pickups for such a long time, and to know that it comes in this wonderful compact and portable amplifier, is amazing. Keep in mind that this is 30 watts, so it might not be as loud as you want it, without having to boost up the mids and highs. For me, I like to have a lot of bass, so I have my volume on max, the lows at 3 o'clock, mids at 12 o'clock, and I cut out all the highs. That's my EQ setup, but it's really based on preference. Since it doesn't come out that loud, it's good for small events and background music, like your local outdoor bar, or some hotel dinner music. If you're playing where there's a party going on, just hook up a mic to it, and hope it doesn't feedback. If not, definitely get an amp with more watts.

I got this amp on Christmas and I was so stoked just to finally have a bass amp. I love the sound that comes out of it. It sounds good even without the overdrive. It doesn't come out loud without it but it sounds really nice. My friend told me to get a Mackie amp but it was too expensive for me. I decided to invest in this. You know what though, it was totally worth it. Even if you want full lows, 25% mids, and no highs, it sounds spectacular. LOVE IT!!!
