i got this amp 2 years ago for christmas and i have to say, i have never once been disappointed with this amp. there were times when i wish i had the 100 watt amp, but if you don't have the extra cash for it, then this is the way to go. this amp has a few features, including mid-scoop (for more slap/pop sounds), a 4 band EQ, and a red light on the bottom that goes on when you play. this amp is loud enough to play with a garage band and still sound good. it has the ability to go from bright, punchy sounds to deep, smooth sounds. the only thing i would want is a second speaker option. over all, if you need a mid-range amp, BUY THIS AMP NOW.

I'm a beginning bass player (I've been playing Guitar for almost 25 years). I was looking for an amp in the Rumble 60's price range, with a line out, and decided on this one. I thought the sound was very good. I wanted to use the amp as a monitor, while plugged into the PA but it didn't work out. It's not loud enough to be heard with the PA cranked up. Although I'm disappointed about that, I'm not going to return the Rumble 60, because it sounds great while practicing at home. I recommend it for this. Smaller amps (<60 watts) didn't sound good, and would distort quickly as volume levels increased. Ampeg combo amps were also recommended to me, but the ones I tried didn't impress me that much. I suggest trying several amps over multiple store visits and days. If you decide on the Rumble 60, you will not be disappointed.

Upright sounds great thru it....

By BullFiddler666

from the Road

I play an upright bass thru it and it sounds great. Alot fuller and warmer tone than comparable/cheaper amps. Still picks up my taps and doesn't overpower amplified guitar or fiddle. Also very portable for a travelling band.

Pretty good amp

By Viruxx

from NC

This amp is pretty solid for beginners. It has some good tone, but it's not very adequate when gigging with a drummer and two or more guitarists that blast their amps all the way. But, it's a good amp to start out with. I'd definitely recommend it.

Pretty good

This amp has actually been really good. As far as volume, it's pretty loud for 60 watts. It's BARELY adequate to jam with 2 guitars and a drummer, but as long as everybody else isn't going out of their way to drown you out, you'll be fine. I haven't had any cash to buy a bigger amp, so I've had to rely on this one, and its done a pretty good job. Good for the begining bassist, and will last into the intermediate stages. Decent tone, good quality/durability. A definite winner for the price range.

Good quality

By KyleTbassist

It is a good quality amp. Its plenty loud so you can be heard over a drummer and it has overall good tone.

..EHH...

By Elbajo

from Miami,FL

Its a good amp, but compared to some of the other Fender amps, it lags behind. On loud volumes(with treble) the speaker gets pretty noisy. Not that amazing...not that bad. Its worth it for a new musician who wants to be heard OVER a drummer.

BOOMING!!!

By NizzRooster

from Detroit, MI

I have been playing bass for over 10 years now I was in the market for a small combo that was loud enough to play with a drummer. This on is plenty loud and the tone is to die for. It sounds much better than most bass combos that cost twice as much. I highly recommend this amp for practicing and recording.

Good Small Amp

By aallien

from Bossier City, LA

I just bought this amp locally after listening to a Behringer Ultrabass BXL900 and Peavey MAX 115. The Behringer had a good sound but I have a Dean Edge Pro 5 (5-string) and the it rattled on the B string. The Peavey sounded ok more low end than this Fender, but mid and upper tones were to diminished for my taste (I like a flat, all tones equal sound from an amp). So I decided on the Fender Rumble 60. It had a passive and active input, it had the tone and the size. The bad - I have noticed noise when I crank the highs, I have been running it flat and the noise goes away (may also be a ground issue on my part). Listen locally before you buy anything.

oh i forgot.

By chief beasty bass

i forgot to mention this in my other review. The red lights at the bottom are really cool. but be careful if you have mice. A mouse craweled up inside the little gap for the lights once. but i just played really lud and scared him out.

very nice amp.

By chief beasty bass

from san diego

I bought this amp a year ago and i reccomend it highly to everyone. it gives me a real nice tone whenever im playing. and it's its easily loud enough to hear over the drums. The ipod jack is also extremely useful, But you have to go down to radio shack and buy a cable for it. it's a very good amp at a very good price.
