Get started on the right combo!
Fender designed the Fender Rumble 60 Bass Combo Amp to meet the needs of the beginning bassist by building in all the essentials. Thankfully, they held the line on price to make it accessible to almost everyone. The ported bass design holds a 12" special driver powered by a 60W amp. The carpet-covered cab has oversized corners and a metal grille.

I play for a punk/ska band called Organized Crime and of course I play bass. Ive had this amp since maybe June of this year and I love it. I have done 4 gigs with it and I have heard good and bad things.... hear are my thoughts and thoughts of others who saw me play those gigs....All together it is well built, the back gate on my pickup truck flung open and it fell out, works fine and is not showing any damage. I am not a big fan of the 4 Band EQ cuz I can't seem to even out the higher notes with the lower notes (im a noobie at that anyways, I used to be a guitar play that played lead way back) And its not really the best amp for playing punk. But it works great for all you kids playing ska and raggae.my advice to you is to buy this amp if your a beginner or just need something that wont piss off your neighbors, I use it for smaller gigs and it does the job. I also play in my bedroom when listening to Sublime, or Common Rider.... its a good amp!

I'm a beginning bass player (I've been playing Guitar for almost 25 years). I was looking for an amp in the Rumble 60's price range, with a line out, and decided on this one. I thought the sound was very good. I wanted to use the amp as a monitor, while plugged into the PA but it didn't work out. It's not loud enough to be heard with the PA cranked up. Although I'm disappointed about that, I'm not going to return the Rumble 60, because it sounds great while practicing at home. I recommend it for this. Smaller amps (<60 watts) didn't sound good, and would distort quickly as volume levels increased. Ampeg combo amps were also recommended to me, but the ones I tried didn't impress me that much. I suggest trying several amps over multiple store visits and days. If you decide on the Rumble 60, you will not be disappointed.

I have heard about this amp all over the internet and everyone says its a great amp, so i decided to buy it at a guitar center, plus i desperately needed one to replace my little sx amp. as of now ive had it for about 2 months and the sound is really amazing, i definetely recomend it
I play an upright bass thru it and it sounds great. Alot fuller and warmer tone than comparable/cheaper amps. Still picks up my taps and doesn't overpower amplified guitar or fiddle. Also very portable for a travelling band.
This amp is pretty solid for beginners. It has some good tone, but it's not very adequate when gigging with a drummer and two or more guitarists that blast their amps all the way. But, it's a good amp to start out with. I'd definitely recommend it.
This amp has actually been really good. As far as volume, it's pretty loud for 60 watts. It's BARELY adequate to jam with 2 guitars and a drummer, but as long as everybody else isn't going out of their way to drown you out, you'll be fine. I haven't had any cash to buy a bigger amp, so I've had to rely on this one, and its done a pretty good job. Good for the begining bassist, and will last into the intermediate stages. Decent tone, good quality/durability. A definite winner for the price range.
It is a good quality amp. Its plenty loud so you can be heard over a drummer and it has overall good tone.
Its a good amp, but compared to some of the other Fender amps, it lags behind. On loud volumes(with treble) the speaker gets pretty noisy. Not that amazing...not that bad. Its worth it for a new musician who wants to be heard OVER a drummer.
I have been playing bass for over 10 years now I was in the market for a small combo that was loud enough to play with a drummer. This on is plenty loud and the tone is to die for. It sounds much better than most bass combos that cost twice as much. I highly recommend this amp for practicing and recording.
I just bought this amp locally after listening to a Behringer Ultrabass BXL900 and Peavey MAX 115. The Behringer had a good sound but I have a Dean Edge Pro 5 (5-string) and the it rattled on the B string. The Peavey sounded ok more low end than this Fender, but mid and upper tones were to diminished for my taste (I like a flat, all tones equal sound from an amp). So I decided on the Fender Rumble 60. It had a passive and active input, it had the tone and the size. The bad - I have noticed noise when I crank the highs, I have been running it flat and the noise goes away (may also be a ground issue on my part). Listen locally before you buy anything.
i forgot to mention this in my other review. The red lights at the bottom are really cool. but be careful if you have mice. A mouse craweled up inside the little gap for the lights once. but i just played really lud and scared him out.
I bought this amp a year ago and i reccomend it highly to everyone. it gives me a real nice tone whenever im playing. and it's its easily loud enough to hear over the drums. The ipod jack is also extremely useful, But you have to go down to radio shack and buy a cable for it. it's a very good amp at a very good price.
