Fender's Super-Sonic 100 tube amp head is designed for guitarists who want the inimitable sound of Fender clean tones plus expressive high-gain sounds in an all-tube, 100W amplifier.
The Super-Sonic 100 head has a classic two-channel preamp with Vintage and Burn channels. The Vintage channel delivers tones based on legendary Fender favorites, with pre-gain tone controls and switchable voices for shimmering clean tones derived from vintage Fender Twin Reverb® and Showman® amps, and fat, punchy tone reminiscent of 1960s Bassman® amps. The Pre and Master Volume controls can be set for pure clean or slightly overdriven tones.
The Burn channel ignites musical inspiration with overdrive flavors from bluesy to flame-throwing. Experiment with post-gain EQ and two-stage cascading preamp controls. Gain 1 provides edgy breakup and distortion while Gain 2 adds compression, thickness, and sustain. The Notch Tune feature lets you move the midrange notch for a variety of American and British flavors. The Super-Sonic 100 amp is capable of modern high-gain overdrive and sustain, but these characteristics can be fine tuned without masking the tonal character of your guitar.
The Super-Sonic 100 head also contains impressive extras like the Arena/Club switch, which provides 25W output (or, remove two of the power tubes for 50W/12W operation). The Damping control on the rear panel lets you select Normal, Loose, or Tight speaker response. And the all-new Fender Automatic Bias control (patent-pending) lets you easily set your output tubes to the recommended factory setting without a meter or tools. The bias can be set hotter or cooler if desired, and almost any mix of 6L6 power tubes will work.
The Super-Sonic 100 head includes a cover and a 4-button, pedalboard-friendly footswitch.

I purchased this amp to replace my aging Marshall TSL 100 triple super lead
Fender SuperSonic 100W amp has a lot of features, and great tone.
showman channel sounds very clean, like twin. I was using Marshall 1960 cabinet with it.
I got hit with a problem:
Buzzy reverb even if no guitar cables are plugged in. if Reverb dial is around 4 it buzzes a lot
I replaced one head with new one (many thanks to musicians friend), but reverb was still buzzy. I took it to Fender Service center; there were no issues with reverb there. I was told that in New York, ground loops are bad.
at the end I returned the amp.
I just got Fender Princetone reverb 65 reissue off ebay (risky purchase), and Reverb works fine there, no buzz.
If your apartment , or studio has a lot of electromagnetic interferences, don't use this amp.
reverb will buzz even if no guitar cables are plugged in, I belive that this is a design flaw.
it's either oversensitive or there are some shileding/tube issues

First, this thing is big and really heavy. As a head alone, it weighs more than some combos. It makes full size Marshall heads seem skinny and svelte by comparison. It is muscular in size and sound. The pictures are misleading - this head is B-I-G! Did I mention heavy? Like lead!
This amp brings to mind a luxury/sports/touring car - big, powerful, and loaded with features. It has a quality feel about it.
Yes, it is a Fender in the purest tradition - a Twin Reverb on steroids with the option to switch between two clean channel flavors: Showman and Bassman. Showman for classic polished Fender cleans, and Bassman for a bolder and more raw clean tone.
On the drive channel there is a Vintage/Burn switch plus much more versatility available from the two gain and Notch controls. With two gains and a volume on this channel, it seems like Fender was going for the original Mesa/Boogie cascading concept, while the Notch control sweeps the midrange for Marshallesque tones. When you throw in the damping control on the back and the variable biasing control the range of tone tweaking becomes infinite. At first I thought the bias control might be a gimmick - but no. It is a very cool feature that works well allowing you to bias on the fly and check the general health of the tubes.
On the back panel you get a 100/25 watt Arena or Club power level switch, effects loop, and variable send AND return level controls plus pre out/power in jacks and a speaker damping switch. Inside, a whopping 13 vacuum tubes!
Overall, this amp oozes "Professional" in a way that finally recalls the best of the vintage Fenders. Classic Fender cleans, authentic British distortion, variable power levels - and all of it highly tweakable. My nickname is PartialtoMarshall but this Fender is the first new amp in a long time that seems totally worthy of its legendary heritage.

I've been a big follower and customer of the sonic line-up from Fender. In the past, I've owned a Pro-Sonic, Super-Sonic 60, and recently purchased the Super-Sonic 100. What I dig about this series is that it allows players to shape their sound without having to go DSP modeling. Tube/analog ampa are much richer than DSP modelers to my ear. I have to give huge kudos to the folks at Fender for adding some great improvements to the Sonic series with the 100 line. This amp features a bunch of new features to dial in even more sounds. The addition of the onboard spring reverb for the head is fabulous. The addition of a gain knob and midrange knob to the clean channel (showman/twin & bassman) are great and add so much more versatility to the amp. The addition of notch tuning to the burn channel is a huge improvement. Add the tube auto biasing and damping control are also very cool. Interestingly enough perhaps the most welcome feature is the switch on the back that lets you switch between 100W and 25W. the 60W amp was earsplittingly loud and many folks had theirs modified to lower the volume. Though it certainly could be less expensive, the 100 is a vast improvement over the 60 (which was an improvement over the Pro-sonic). This a beautiful amp and recomend it highly if you have the means. I'm currently playing the head through a Marshall 4x12 Greenback cab or a 2x12 Jensens custom.
This amp is almost perfect. almost. What would make this perfect is if they added the tube driven vibrato channel (found in traditional Fenders). That would be a 10. (see details in the Overview section). I own a vintage '68 Showman with the vibrato wired to always be on. There is a certain richness this adds to the amp that the Super-Sonic 100's clean channel does not reproduce.
So far so good.
Could be a bit lower but for the features and bredth, this is the most versatile all tube amp on the market today.

Had 2 super sonic combos used them hard weekly for 2 years my Biggest chalange was clean channellimited eq bass/ treb..always wanted the head version Drats no reverb ... Now its like I can have the best of the Fender worlds and not the weight (head version)....Looks like my Deluxes and devilles will sit too... Good deal Fender The Fender Blender Lilragu!
