This is a killer little amplifier! Don't let the small size and low price of this amplifier fool you. I generally am not a real big on tube emulating amplifiers, but this one changed my mind. What really blows me away is the dynamics and response this amp brings. The harder you dig in to it, the amp responds like a tube amp. This is a low wattage amp, and while 5 Watts doesn't seem like much on paper, when you plug your guitar into in and crank it up, get ready for lift off! I can't recommend this amp enough. I absolutely LOVE mine, as it can cover anything from sparkly clean to in your face "hey buddy, it's about to get real serious" distortion.

I got this in brand new , has loud sound for 5 watts , looks cool, light weight , .. watched all the videos , read all these reviews and others . took me 15 minutes to find out it was horrible. my wife thought so too . she would pull the cord out of this amp and plug into my other little practice solid state amp . I tried pedals , adjustments , everything I could , sounds like it has a weird effect running all the time . sound to much bass . even with it turned down . controls are hard to adjust any great sounds unless you play acoustic only . I ran it through high end guitars too. so it wasn't that . I have had many amps through the years , this one ranks in the top 3 duds . its loud for its watts and clear clean , but be warned , its not that great .. I packed it back up . quick . I don't write many reviews , but I had to warn others , cant believe all the reviews on here are good ???

Comments about Four Force EM-1 Guitar Amplifier:

Put me in the satified customer column. Now, I'm not a pro, or even a semi-pro, but I did get all that I was asking for with this amp. It's light weight, cool to look at, angled so that it plays up to you while you're facing it, and produces a clean sound with lots of power for it's size. I jammed with my cousin last week, him using his Yamaha 10 watt THR5 modeling Amp, and me on the Four Force EM1, and was able to provide a solid rythm aginst his leads on the more versitle desk top model. The volume is plenty loud for the living room and it's easy enough to carry with one finger. I got a sweet deal under the list price making it that much better, but paying the list would have been just fine. There are no extra frills added to this one, just good clean sounds, rich full bass, and a tough as nails tank that you can bounce off the ground and it will get us still singing. This living room amateur is completely satisfied and will be getting a lot of use out of the Four Force. I would recommend it to a friend who is looking for something similar.

Comments about Four Force EM-1 Guitar Amplifier:

Like the other guy said in his review, it's hard to believe all the positive reviews on this amp. It's loud enough, but not easy to get a good sound out of it. As far as even getting enough gain out of it, there's no way except using a distortion pedal which I plan to buy. I love single channel amps and was hopeful that it would be what I was looking for...a nice little amp that could be a backup if needed. All the people at four force need to do is make these amps with more gain...it's better to have more than you need than not enough. Anyway I'm keeping it, theres nothing wrong with it, it just didn't turn out to be what I was looking for. I'll get a distortion pedal, maybe with that I can make it useable.

I agree with all the good stuff. (The first one I had to return) An additional feature is the speaker out jack. We practice at a studio we rent. I jacked the unit into a Marshal 4 by 12. OMG. I promise you, I kept up will all the boys with their fancy tube stuff. We were all very surprised. They're shlepping all the heavy stuff and I'm marching up two flights of stairs with a 6 pounder. Psych! I bought some for my friends.

Keep in mind, this is my first amplifier.

The gain knob needs to be fully on to operate. Not sure is this is normal or not. Other than that, it has sounds nice enough using the rest of the knobs that I'll keep it.

This amp is a steal! Good sound and tube like tones are what you can expect. Looks and plays well. Snap up one of these up before the price goes higher, which it will as people discover this amp.
I have had more expensive tube amps in the past and this does as well as amps costing 4 - 5 times the price.

Comments about Four Force EM-1 Guitar Amplifier:

This amp is loud and has a very good bottom end. Be aware that although there are a few knobs and they are relatively easy to use, they must be tweaked a little more than other amps to get a good sound. The pre amp bass, mid, treble knobs must be turned up so I would suggest a 12 o'clock setting for all knobs including gain and volume would be a good place to start.

Comments about Four Force EM-1 Guitar Amplifier:

In 37 years of playing I have rarely seen a product that gives you so much for the price. I once was a major fan of tube amps and still own several. I never considered Solid State amps for performance and recording because solid state amps always sounded thin and tinny to me in comparisons. That thought however has changed. In the last few years there has been incredible improvements in the Solid State market. I now own a few great ones, This amp included, because it is one of those incredible improvements. It feels like a tube amp in the way it responds to your picking technique. Eveything about it makes you think it has the guts of a Princeton. Excellent warm bottom end, clear articulate highs and and a smooth mid range. I have heard the skeptics and die hard amp tube fans that call this a "Toy" It's Not a toy, it's a well built, responsive amplifier with great tones for a better than reasonable price. MF has the best price around and has brought us another great value for our money!
