Nothing to complain about here! You can go from tight, punchy, pure clean sounds to heavy vintage style Overdrive with the flick of a switch! Probably not the best for metal, as it is an Overdrive pedal, not a distortion pedal. It could work though. Its great for Blues, as well as any type of other music all the way through the 80's hard rock styles. I love this pedal so much, I will never get rid of it. I play Strats and Les Pauls so I need a very versatile overdrive that doesn't compromise on tone. The Fulldrive sounds amazing with any guitar, and will last forever with how tough it is. I would suggest getting a power adapter for it, and the cool thing about that is that this pedal can run on voltage anywhere from 9v to 18v! I got an 18v adapter for it, and it makes the pedal sound so much better then it already did, and it sounded awesome before! The 18v adapter makes the overdrive slightly less compressed and more open, as well as giving the clean boost a much higher headroom without breaking up when you have the amp cranked. It also adds a little volume. Overall, an awesome pedal, go check it ou and buy one! you will not regret it.
The Fulltone Fulldrive 2 MOSFET is amazing. Plain and simple. The features it has are extremely versatile and easy to use, making the Fullldrive a must have for any players pedal board. This pedal is a 2 stage Overdrive, which means it has the normal overdrive channel on the left, and a Boost function on the right which when activated adds a little more gain and sustain to the sound. Starting on the main Overdrive side, we have 3 modes which you can switch between using a toggle switch. The top mode is CompCut which is mainly used for Clean Boost but also can be used for a more distorted sound. The middle mode is Flat Mids which is a great overdrive sound, I really like it with my strat. It gives you a thinner, more SRV style guitar sound. The final mode is Vintage which is a heavier gain sound that works great with Les Paul style guitars, and many others. Its a thicker, fuzzier sound. There is another toggle switch which switches between MOSFET and Standard. The MOSFET mode just adds a slight amount of more crunch to the sound. The different modes are controlled by a Volume knob, Tone knob, and Overdrive knob. The boost function has a knob appropriately labled Boost that controls how much extra gain you like with the Boost on. The LED's are very bright.
Very high quality. This thing is built like a tank! The metal housing is thick and built very well. The push buttons feel solid and secure. The knobs feel perfect when turned, tight enough that you know they are high quality but loose enough that they turn easy. All the switches feel great, no problems with any of those. Inside, you can tell that this pedal is a hand-built work of art. The circuit board looks perfect, very neat and clean.
For the amazing tones and versatility you can get out of this pedal, the price is a bargain! I've never seen a better deal for a hand-built in the USA boutique overdrive pedal. Don't hesitate to buy one of these.

The Fulldrive 2 is a mainstay on my pedalboard. It is my first dirt pedal in my chain and I stack everything else after it. I couldn't be happier with the FD2.
The beauty of this pedal is that it covers the Tubescreamer territory but with so much versatility. The mini-toggle switches are quite useful in shaping your tone. And the boost switch really makes this pedal worthwhile. Not an independent boost channel but still really useful.
Built like a tank, and I love the sparkle/metallic blue finish
Best pedal I think I've ever purchased

Great sounding overdrive, exactly what I was looking for. I run it at 18V which I prefer over 9V. The boost is useful, but it doesn't give as much of a volume boost as I would like.

Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have owned this pedal for a little over a year now and it has been my main overdrive on my board since the day it came in. I love everything about it.
I recently started playing a lot of churches so with the addition of extra reverbs, delays, octaves, and tremolo pedals, it was very nice to have a 2-in-1 box for my drive. Board real estate is a big issue when you need to be able to get different sounds. It is also a gorgeous pedal aesthetically.
Versatility at its best! I can find anything from blues tones to classic rock to light rockish worship tones. The knobies and switchies can be intimidating, but once you have learned your way around this unit it will be worth the tweaking and dialing!
There are several other double switch OD's out there that cost more, that people say sound better, that have more knobies and switchies, but this box's fame speaks for itself. Bad products do not sell, and this one does. Simple as that.
Bottom line, you can not beat the versatility.
The sounds inside of this box, its price, its gorgeous looks, its ability to save the room of adding another boost pedal, and its overall success is why I am going to recommend this little fella and keep him on my board.

Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:
Perfect pedal and tone for what I wanted. I use the fulltone as my drive channel on my 212 Deville. For the style I play, I need a clean channel (the Deville), and then one with just a little more drive to it (the Fulltone). The Fulltone is perfect. Gives me a nice drive sound and doesnt alter the tone. The boost pedal is great for solos and has all kinds of sustain. Perfect for me in replacing that lame Deville "drive" and "more drive" channel.
I run a CV tele (yeah I know, but the thing plays awesome) with Texas Specials. I have a Keeley compressor 1st in line, followed by a tube screamer, then the Fulltone. Next is a BBE sonic stomp, followed by a Boss delay. Still deciding on what to do with the tubescreamer, or if I even need it. Possibly just use it as a solo boost on my clean channel.
Anyways, the Fulltone is great and easy to use. Built like a tank. Get your self one.

Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:
Just got used this pedal and used it in rehearsal for the first time and man, I really wish I had gotten this pedal sooner. When I was originally looking for an overdrive I ended up going with the TS808 reissue instead of the FD2 because it's sold as the standard go-to for that classic overdrive tone that so many big names use. And the 808 does outshine many of the other OD pedals I've tried...even other TS models. However, after comparing it to the FD2, it was immediately apparent that the Fulltone was WAY better for the sound I wanted.
I A/B'd the two pedals going into an Egnater Tweaker 40 set clean, using my Les Paul. The first thing I noticed is that the FD2 has more available volume than the 808. The FD2 set on vintage/standard is the closest to the tone of the 808...classic mid-range hump and warm, round tone. But the FD2 has a liveliness to its tone that the 808 lacks. The FD2 also retains clarity when the gain is turned up whereas the 808 starts to turn mushy and overly compressed.
The FD2 beats the 808 in dynamics as well, as it is very responsive to pick attack and cleans up well using the guitar's volume knob. And, of course, the FD2 goes way beyond the tones that are similar to the 808. The MOSFET mode turns it into a totally different animal with increased low/low-mid punch to the tone. The FM mode smooths out the mids for better transparency of the guitar's natural tone. And the comp-cut mode gives you the option of using the FD2 as a clean boost rather than an overdrive. The Boost channel is a drive rather than volume boost which I love because you can go from normal OD to lead sustain and harmonics without having to worry that a big kick in volume is going to have you overwhelming the rest of the band in a live setting. I also noticed an improvement in my clean tone when the pedal FD2 is off as opposed to with the 808 which is not true bypass apparently.
As far as versatility goes I can get great rock/hard rock tones from the FD2 and even some sweet metal tones if I switch over to the amp's dirty channel. It's obviously not going to give you the scooped out Unearth, Cannibal corpse sort of distortion but you can definitely get to an Opeth, Dream Theatre, prog-metal sort of tone (depending on the amp).
So in the end the FD2 is replacing both the TS808 and the Fulltone Fatboost 3 I used to bolster the tone of the 808. Both good pedals in their own right but for the tone I want the FD2 is just perfect.

I have used literally dozens of overdrive units trying to find the one that "Heats up" the tone of my Stratocasters without distorting and this pedal is by far the best one I have ever found.

Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:
I've got a '66 Super Reverb and it breaks up very nicely at higher volumes without an OD pedal - only downside is that it makes my ears bleed and the neighbors call the cops! I purchased both the OCD and Full-Drive 2. While they both work, the FD2 seems to fit the characteristcs of my amp much better. I also love the boost channel! I'm officially done searching for OD pedals (at least for a while)!

a great pedal a must for any blues guitar player
Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:
Exellent sound, amazing quality, and worth the extra dough. Overall very very versatile pedal, perfect for anything from crunching up your praise and worship tone, wailing some blues, dialing in that Modern Country drive, or shredding some new rock! Sounds and works amazing with the GT-500 right after it in the effects chain. I would rate this as the most important pedal on my board, hardly ever gets turned off!
EXTREMELY versatile pedal! Can wail with the best of em, or just add a little crunch. I usually use just the OD side for everything, then stomp the boost for solos which is exactly what this thing was made to do. It does take some getting use to and some time to get it dialed in, but when you do! Changed my entire outlook on overdrives and distortions! Fulltone for me is the only way to go!
IT'S A FULLTONE! Enough said. This thing is built like a tank with it's full metal construction. The dip switches are very solid, and you can tell the first time you flick either one of them. Pots are very clean and smooth just like you'd expect from a high end piece of gear. The only beef I've had with mine is that the OD side switch gets hung between modes from time to time, effectively muting my signal. But that has happened only twice since I got the pedal 3 years ago.
Worth every penny. BECAUSE, when you think about it, you've already spent what this thing costs on crappy overdrives anyway, save up the dough, buy the best and it will save you in the long run. Remember cheaper is not better when it comes to gear.
Comments about Fulltone Fulldrive2 MOSFET Overdrive/Clean Boost Guitar Effects Pedal:

Built like a tank, smaller than I expected, which is great for my small pedalboard
definitely getting your money's worth, excellent pedal
