The 400rb 2 ten combo is a nice amp for practice by yourself, but playing with the drums it is barely heard. For what little bass this amp puts out it is not worth near as mush as posted. My advice would be to get somthing bigger or somthing that you have already tested out.
Ive owned this combo for about 3 years now & I absolutley love it I couldnt dream playing anything else I run another 4x10 GK below this and it just mows everything ive ever played, solid made never had a problem ever since i bought it, forget everything else GK is the best bass amp on earth
I needed a small gig combo that did not require a moving van and a crew. Hartke kickback is nice, but it has few pro features. Then like a dream the GK400rb III 210 appeared. Wow! Gig-worthy sound, pro features, killer tone. Enough power I can't see needing my giant stuff except for the big venues, where I have the option to send my sound to the mixerboard, post pre-amp! I love it, get it!
These combos are very versitile. A true tone monster. Lightweight and portable make it an outstanding combo for rehearsal, studio, or live performance. For bigger rooms, simply add an extension cab under it(I use an EV 115 or Peavey 1x18/2x10) and the head has more than enough power to drive them. I would like to see a slot for a rackmountable tuner or compressor added.
Great amp for a decent size gig, and gives great sound and power for the size and money. GK amps put out some major sound. If you are looking at this amp you should definatly get it
This amp has a lot of great features. It's a solidly built, and has great sound. It's light enough to cart around to small gigs, and had enough presence for a large stage.
This is an awesome buy. Don't get pressured into buying a more expensive amp. This thing can adjust to whatever kind of sound you want it to have, so it even ruled out a Limiter for my bass. Great quality, tone, sound, and it's durable as hell. GK is the way to go.
This is a great practice amp with tons of features. Then sit it on a bottom, and you have a stage amp. I use it in studio, and then at gigs I sit it on a Mesa Boogie 1-15 that has a 400 watt EV in it. Want growl, this has it.
This makes G-K #3 for me. Prior to my first, I had used Acoustic, Fender, Ampeg, Peavey, AB, Trace. Then I bought my first G-k, (800rb) and the sound I got with that, the reliability, durability, etc., caused me to buy 2 more G-K's, the MB200, and the 400RBiv210, They just keep getting better. The 400RB will do any gig for me, be it stage monitor amp, or frontline.
Just recieved this amp today and I am quite impressed with the the large sound from this GK 400RB Combo. After reading several reviews here at Musicians Friend I decided to buy this amp without hearing it!! Now this is something I would never usually do but there are no music stores where I am right now. I've owned Gallien-Krueger heads before and very much like the way they sound. This time I wanted a combo for ease of mobility I figured with this latest version I could'nt go wrong. Well let me tell you, I was not diappointed Huge warm punchy tone from this 400RB. The guys in the band are very impressed. Tiltback feature is nice. Blue light looks cool... Not the cheapest combo around but you get what you pay for! Wasn't sure about GK Paragon speakers (never having heard them before) but they sound great. Plenty of amp for the venues that I'm playing right now. Gallien-Krueger rocks again................. Thanks, Musicians Friend
