This is an awesome sounding and performing full range 4x10 bass speaker cabinet. I bought this to use as my smaller rig, as my other rig is huge and high end. I like how this bass cab is transparent sounding, and not muddy, while still delivering full range sound. If you are having issues with this bass speaker cab, don't blame the cab, just learn how to pick a functional bass rig. A functional bass rig is one that has the rms output wattage of the bass amp properly matched up to the rms power handling of the bass speaker cab, and usually the difference should not be more than 100 watts rms either way. Remember ohmage also needs to be considered. An amp that outputs 300 watts at 4 ohms is outputing around 150 watts at 8 ohms. Underpowering a bass speaker cab is just as bad, if not worse than overpowering, and both destroy bass speakers. You should never have to run your amp's volume past noon.

I bought this cab with the GK Backline 600 amp, Shecter active bass. I am a guitarist for 20 years, but decided to pick up the bass to join my best friend's new band. A lot of us have been there, yes? Lol.The moment I hooked this thing up, I knew it was not going to deliver what I wanted--which was gut-rattling lows, let's face it. The speakers delivered horrible distortion, right away at volume. My band (2nd band with current rig) does down-tuned, melodic death metal with a few breakdowns here and there, but the speakers can't handle it and the lows drop out and disappear. Occasionaly, the mids drop out, too.In the past month I have blown 2 of the speakers(with the GK Backline 600 amp), and have become an angry man. I attempted to correct this by purchasing 4 Eminence 200w 10"s and an Ampeg 400w 15" today. We'll see how that goes. Details to follow. So, these speakers just can't do the lows of downtuned metal. Save your dollars for something else. You always get what you pay for, believe me.

Awesome Bass Cab

By jon460

from South Dakota

I have been looking into buying 4x10s lately and at a local music shop i played an Musicman Stingray bass and an ampeg head through this cab and man was it awesome! I had been looking into buying a cabinet and i wanted to try out some aluminum coned cabs, when the store didnt have any others besides this GK cab, so i tried it. I always thought that GK was too heavy for me but this thing sounded amazing with an ampeg head. After playing through this cab, i think i might just have to buy it.

Professional Quality at a Good Price

I bought this Cab about a month ago. So far it has perfomed well. The Paragone Aluminum cones give it a bit of a bright sound but because of the Goldline coating on the cones there is very appealing warmth. Nice articulation with super warmth is how to describe it. I play it with a Behringer BA-115 Bulgera Aluminum coned cab. I use a Markbass Little Mark II head. I do believe that the 410BLX sounds a little better to me with the Behringer. The bright throaty warmth of Aluminum on the bottom with the growl of paper on the top. Seemed overall better. But the 410GLX is by no means a bad cab. I will keep it until I have to replace it. Just keep in mind the obvious. Metal is bright. Paper not so bright. Both good just different.

Use it in a Stack!

By Bass-G Cash Money

from Undisclosed

I bought this cab and play through a G-K Backline 600. It flat out rocks. I get crystal clear response during band practice and shows. It also sounds fantastic mic'd up in studio recordings! The absolute best thing to do with it is buy a 15" sub cabinet and turn it into a full stack. When I put it in my stack it transformed into a BETTER cabinet. G-K has done it this time.

A steal!!!

Ask me a question

OK, maybe I am biased as this is the first real cab I have owned, but I love it! I tried all the G-K cabs and to me, for a stand alone cab, this will get the job done and then some. Love the looks, the sound, and the overall value. I looked at comparable Hartke and Behringer equipment, and considering price, and sound, this was the winner hands down. I own the Backline 600 Bass head, which works perfectly with this cabinet. I'll likely but the 115 GLX to go with it soon to make my sound HUGE!

Sweet Deal

By GK Metalhead

from San Diego, CA

I recently bought this cab to accompany my Backline 600 head, and all i can say is that this piece of equipment is beautiful, and the price, only makes it better. The cab has a very nice, punchy low end, and pretty good highs, considering there is not a horn on the cab (the only downside). It is kind of heavy if you plan to move it around alot, but this is easily overlooked, once you consider the quality that you get for the price, and the handles make it much easier to carry. This is the perfect cab to use for practice and/or gigs. You will not find a better cab for the price. Thank you GK, you did it again...

Nice cab!

I bought this cab (along with a 115) after trying out ampeg, fender, and other high price bass rigs. This covers the higher end of the bass great. Its clarity is great cutting though my lower end and even the rest of the group. My only problem was that one of the speakers blew, but GK had me taken care of that week. Ever since, no problems whatsoever. I have another that I bought over a year ago, and haven't had a single problem. These things are pretty much tanks!

Good Stuff

By Dead Cat Alley

from Woodland, Ca.

I purchased this 410 cabinet several weeks ago (May 2010) and found the free shipping from Musicians Friend really added to the total value.I am impressed with the full range from low to highs, and can't wait to pair this cabinet up with a 15".

Sweet Tone

After having watched a couple videos of Wooten and Flea that both play GK rigs, I had to go try this out, I ended up buying it that day. This thing can deliver the low end with out sounding mushy, plus it's quite loud. My only complaint is that the handles seem pretty weak, but overall this is a great cab and it gets quite compliments for looks after a gig.

Good value for price

By -James

from MN

I bought this cab and i was pretty impressed with the sound. for the price this is a great buy. the only downside is the speekers in it are lower quality than if you bought a Gallien Krueger from a local dealer (which is why the warenty only covers 1 year) if your looking for a great amp thats gonna last you for life or at least a long time this is not the amp for you. but if your a college/ high school student looking for something freekin loud on a budget, definatly recomend it.
