Not so good

When this amp arrived, I immediately plugged it in. The speaker was blown. I was shocked, for I've purchased used equipment from MF before with no problems. The rating said it was in near mint condition. The customer service was great. They had my return postage and paperwork done in a few minutes. I have become leary of buying used equipment now and have since purchased a new bass amp.

Great Little Amp

I'm thrilled.  I thought this kind of bass only came in a 15" loudspeaker.  The web photo on this site shows a rear panel with no fan.  The one I just got has a small fan like the MB115 but so far it either has not needed to come on or is so quiet you cannot hear it.

One of the reviews complained about a plastic grill.  The unit I received has a metal grill - very nice.  Haven't tested the direct out for noise level yet.  The owners manual shows it as pre-eq and pre-gain, which is as it should be.

The MB115 15" combo has 3 more features for only a bit more money - field-effect transistor front end for more tube-like sound, a tweeter horn with disconnect switch and a switchable limiter.  I really wanted the smaller size and weight and a 12" has better mid-top end than a 15" so I don't miss the horn.  So far I can't hear the limiter so don't feel the need to have it be switchable.  I can't imagine any more amp for the money.  It's a great deal.

Love It!

Features:

I bought this amp based on it being American made, and because the other reviews were favorable. I have never heard one of these till I bought this one. I love the line in feature, the looks, and the light weight. My Yamaha sounds pretty good plugged into this gem. The MB112 has a signature "dry growl" sound to it, which I really like. I haven't got to play it live anywhere (besides our house), but with 200 watts, it should put out enough sound. It can be plugged into a sound system with the XLR input which I haven't tried yet.

Quality:

The quality seems great. The knobs just "feel " good when you turn them, it's USA made and seems to be a nice unit.

Value:

It's a little pricier than some, and doesn't have different amp models built in, but I feel like it's a quality amp that it will last me a while, and you know, you get what you pay for....

Overall:

I am very satisfied with this amp's looks, quality, features, and sound. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a simple, high quality, lighweight bass amp. I would love to have a bigger one in the future if the need arises...
