We gig outdoors (often near open areas of water). This combo is amazing. You can feel it 100ft away in a real open area just turned up to 3 before we go into the PA. I have to turn down when we move indoors to keep from overpowering the band. I originally was thinking 4x10?s and add a 15? later. So glad I went with the 12?s. They are so full/deep. It pushes like a 15?, but they are also tight like 10?s. Very versatile. With a few tweaks of the tone I go from highs and mids for rock to deep deep bass for the reggae/funk we cover. The head is great if you are looking at buying it separate. Lots of power and clean sound. It feels lighter than the stats say and is easy to transport. I waited a while to write a review to have a complaint and I finally found one? The line out XLR slot is too close to the top of the cabinet and it is hard to push the release to remove the plug at the end of the night. Bottom line, if you are on the fence about this one, just get it.
I bought this cab about a year ago, and it was amazing for the first 9 or 10 months. I play a 5 string tuned down to B most of the time, and this thing was a workhorse, but the horn gave out on me, 60 bucks to replace, no big deal. Then both the speakers gave out shortly thereafter. Couldn't find any replacements, not even from GK's website. A little dissapointing since i Love GK's sound. I won't go with another brand, but i definatly wont use this cab anymore. The head 1001 head however, is just about the baddest little piece of equipment ever. If anything was worth buying this cab, having that build in, and easily removeable was totally worth it.
I bought this amp a week ago and i am in love. I play a Stienberger 4 string and a Dean 5 string trough it and it is unbelieveable. Handles the low B with ease. I play very hard and this thing just laughs at me. If anyone is interested in a 2x10 or a 4x10 like i was, get yourself one of these. Moves Air!!! Play with 2 guitarists with marshall stacks and a hard playing drummer and can keep up with ease. Thanks G-K, great job.
This amp is a quality amp, well-constructed. It sounds like a tube amp; it is powerful and very smooth. The controls are fairly simple to understand and operate. It has a listed weight of about 84 pounds; it feels more like 55 pounds. The GK Neo 1001/212 is as powerful as advertised. I had 3 different Hartke amps and all of them had problems right out of the box, manufacturing defects. Do not get the Hartke VX3500 combo amp; get this one. You will not be sorry.
I bought this combo for my church so we could have a decent combo for traveling. This combo is totally amazing. I added a GK SBX 410 Cab for inside the sanctuary. The 1001 pushes and controls both cabs with ease. We have plenty of punch, bite, mids, and growl. Hats off to the GK company. Gallien-Krueger brings the funk.
