Powerful tone and digital effects in a compact, flexible cabinet.
Though small in size, the Shen 60 pumps out 60W of power and projects warm, articulate tone from a pair of 6-1/2" woofers. An Alesis stereo DSP provides lush digital effects with 16 preset programs. The preamp has 2 separate channels, each with a 3-band EQ with sweepable mids. One XLR mic input with phantom power and 2 - 1/4" instrument inputs which can be mixed together for use by multiple players. The cab design incorporates a stage monitor shape for added flexibility during performances, allowing the amp to sit upright or tilt back at a 30° angle. Tilting the cabinet back helps to reduce boomy low frequencies as well.

I use this amp with a Takamini acoustic. The amp has great sound capabilities and features. The only things I don't like about it are the low-end sound isn't quite as robust as I would have liked, plus the notch-back cabinet design makes the amp a bit larger than I like. I would have prefered if they had made the cabinet smaller and used sliding legs for amp tilting like Fender Acoustasonic does. It doesn't have a feedback filter, but it does have a parametric EQ to remove annoying frequencies. The only other amp in this price-range that I would have considered is the Fender Acoustasonic DSP but it is a heavier amp which I didn't want. I also checked out the Crate amps which have all the bells and whistles but their sound quality is sadly lacking behind the Genz Benz.
I play a Gibson SongBird through it. The amp really brings out the warm, mellow tone of my guitar. The digital effects are a wonderful surprise. It tends to lose it great tone at the upper volume limits, but mid-volume I haven't heard another acoustic amp that equals or surpasses it. Great buy on a quality amp! Genz Benz realy blew the competition out of the water with this amp. Crate, Marshall, Roland needs to learn a lesson in acoustic sound amplification.
