OVERVIEW

Versatile keyboard amplification.

There is no more iconic name in organ amplification than Leslie, and the Leslie LS2215 carries on the tradition of uncompromising amplification of quality organ tone. But wait, there's more. The LS2215 is a reasonably priced and highly portable keyboard amp that does an astounding job amplifying electric piano, brass and string patches, and even offers a rich, detailed amplification of acoustic piano timbres. This one features a beautiful tweed finish, a classic, vintage look, and includes a complimentary sweet amp cover ($69 value).

The LESLIE brand is synonymous with high quality in sound, performance, construction and reliability. The LESLIE LS2215 Combo Amplifier upholds the Leslie tradition now in a compact non-rotary model designed to complement any key-board rig, solo performer, acoustic guitarist, or other application where powerful, clean amplification is desired.

The LS2215 features a 200-watt solid state mono power amp with a pair of 4 mid-high drivers and a 15 woofer. The stereo preamp section features three discrete input channels: Instrument, Keyboard, and Microphone. Each channel features an independent 3-band EQ. The Instrument and Keyboard channels each feature L&R stereo 1/4 input jacks, while the Microphone channel features ¼ and XLR jacks.

The Instrument and Keyboard channels include independent stereo send and return jacks, for effects management. A fourth channel offers a Stereo Auxiliary input with volume control. The Master Control division uses a global 3-band EQ, Master volume control and a discrete Headphone jack with its own volume pot.

Comments about Hammond LS2215 Keyboard Amplifier Tweed with Cover:

I use this amp in a Doors tribute act I play in, so I run a Nord Electro (simulating the VOX/Gibson G101) and a Rhodes Bass Piano through it. I've only played it once live and it sounded great! I replaced a Roland I've had for over 10 years. The Leslie is a bit lighter and easier to move around. The tweed version looks great on stage as well. i'm really happy with it so far,

Comments about Hammond LS2215 Keyboard Amplifier Tweed with Cover:

I'm an old guy with a B3 History, so when I purchased my new Hammond I knew I needed a Leslie. This unit has proven to be the best priced, most handsome, powerful and fantastic quality of sound. I will be using this in my studio and on my occasional performance needs.

Comments about Hammond LS2215 Keyboard Amplifier Tweed with Cover:

Leslie - synonymous with quality since the 40s, with Hammond since the 80s; the beautiful tan and yellow tweed, somewhere between those decades. What can you say? Fashion never dies...but amps can and, as many keyboardists may know, a simple guitar amp cannot handle the strain we put on them so we are required to shop elsewhere. After perusing for a new partner for my Korg SV-1, unsettled by the lack of keyboard amps available, I came across the LS-2215 and knew that eHarmony couldn't do any better for this match made in heaven. Although it is a little on the pricier side, between the fine-tuning you can do on this baby as well as the amount of additional plug-ins available should you decide to become a one-man-band, it is worth every penny. When not in use, it comes with a padded amp cover that is also branded with "Leslie", just in case you forget which amp of yours it goes to. It also happens to be a convenient height for a side table should you need to hide it when guests come over. As mentioned above, you shouldn't have to worry too much about someone walking off with it - at approximately 80 pounds, you might find them winded within 500 feet. Really though, the cleanliness and clarity provided with the LS2215 is stunning, the mic and aux inputs probably being the biggest additional draws to me, and enough power to upset the neighbors. Highly recommend, unless you are content with remaining as background while you hear "Free Bird" performed from your corner for the millionth time

Comments about Hammond LS2215 Keyboard Amplifier Tweed with Cover:

I took the open box surprise option from MF. It was mint but had a minor problem which was why it was probably returned the first time. The crossover board while attached to the inside of the cab with all four screws would vibrate at certain lower freqs and create a very noticeable mech buzz from the back of the cab. Removed the grille and speaker, applied a dab of bath tub calk to back of the crossover board and re attached it. Took 10 min.

The amp seems to be very strong. I bought this over the Roland KC 550 because of it having dual 4" speakers. I use it with a Hammond SK1 and I figured the added midrange would be better. I think I was right, the mids are very bright and seems to accentuate the SK1's classic B3 percussion and highs wo muddling. The bass is very firm too which tells me the advertised "custom" 15" driver may just be custom as well. It had a sizable magnet for sure, looked like a 2" coil also.

The outside cosmetics where top notch. That was unexpected and very nice especially with the custom cover which is very thick and functional, cutouts for the handles etc.

I'm looking forward to using this thing for a piano and a digital drum set which I think the 4" speakers are going to help there too.

Comments about Hammond LS2215 Keyboard Amplifier Tweed with Cover:

I went with this amp for several reasons, primarily I wanted a powerful clean amp to go with my Roland gr-55 guitar synth for live shows (I use a 70's organ preset a lot.) In the home studio I have used this with my 68' Vox Continental Baroque and it sounds amazing running through this! This looks like it was made to go with the my vintage Vox - I purposely got the tweed cover and love the Leslie logo on the grill. In fact, I haven't even cranked the master volume past 7 it sounds so full. Last night I ran a 76' Arp Omni II through this and monitored with headphones - the Omni, already having a somewhat noisy signal, I was able to adjust with the Leslie's front panel to have a nice clean signal even with the headphones. I love the versatility with the eq on the Chanel inputs and the master. Very happy with this powerful/versatile amp!
