Comments about Ibanez Sonic Distortion Modified Guitar Effects Pedal:
I did not find any reviews on this pedal, hadn't heard a thing about it until I went to my local music shop in Alaska, Mammoth Music. I just put brand new pickups in my Ibanez rgt42dxfx, the DiMarzio "The Breed" neck and bridge, and I was blown away at the fat, punchy, overall cleaner but better sound I obtained from them. I play through a Vox AC15C1 and I typically used the MXR OD for my distortion using the amps natural tube tone, but once the new pickups were in, distortion was harder to achieve. I wanted something modern sounding, but my Metal Zone sounds like garbage through the Vox, so I started talking with my music guys, they let me try a few pedals through another ac15, and I was blown away by this pedal. It has incredible versatility, and even though I am a local Worship/CCM artist I immediately tuned my ibanez to drop B and began chugging away. With everything at 12 the gain was so punchy and tight I could make out every note in the chord while still retaining massive amounts of gain in standard tuning. Still incredibly heavy. then you turn the gain switch off and you have an incredible vintage tone. All this low-mid power through a chimey Vox ac15??? It is unheard of! I will use this pedal until it explodes from sheer awesomeness and baditude. Not only can I use it to fill up sound in a lighter Christian-Rock setting, but I can detune and play Killswitch or Slipknot if I wanted to. I cannot recommend this enough. Pair it with a ts9 or a MXR OD (I know, shush) and you have an incredible gamut of tonal options. Get this instead of any metal distortion or if you are seeking something higher gain without that boutique Marshall/Mesa price.
