A coaxial speaker gives you a wider frequency response for a fuller tone.
The 10" coaxial speaker on the Ibanez SWX35 bass combo amp provides you with wide frequency response. This 35W Ibanez bass amp has an active 3-band EQ for extra tone shaping, a closed back, and a tilt-up flapping bar for better monitoring during a performance.
Internal auto compression circuitry, one of the features found in all the SWX Series bass amplifiers, minimizes distortion and keeps the sound clean and powerful. HUE Control adjusts overall tonal character, while a Bright switch changes the sound character immediately from the tone of passive bass to that of active bass. A Shape switch gives you a hi and low boost/mid cut sound.

Ibanez seems to be considered a secondary manufacturer when it comes to amplifiers. I've always found their guitar amps lacking, but they should certainly be respected for producing some great sounding and RELIABLE bass amplifiers. I suggested this amp to one of my bass guitar students based on owning the previous version of this amp. Light enough for a kid to carry at 31 lbs., it has everything a student needs in a bass amp... quality sound, well built and durable (the metal speaker grille is a smart upgrade from its predecessor), portability, and a line out for more volume if needed. Also great for older players that don't want to drag around a heavy bass amp to gigs anymore. Save your money and your back with this big bang for the buck bass amp. Believe me now... thank me later.
I bought this amp over a year ago, and it doesn't disappoint me. I feel it could have used a 12" speaker, but the 10" does fine. I can play with accoustic drums and still hear myself clearly. With the line out can add more volume if needed. The tone controls allow you to shape any sound without getting muddy or hollow. A great amp for the money.

I love this amp I have had one for about 4 years now. Great for learning and for jamming in general. Mix it with an Ibanez Soundgear SR300 and the sound is amazing.

I bought this at my music store today and its a great amp. Eaisly able to play over drums and the tones are great. There's a Auto Comp built in so its designed not to rumble and be as destorted when you hit a loud note. Great buy.
