I wanted a reliable, simple wah pedal without a huge footprint.
I am not a pedalboard guy, and aside from my amp's channel footswitch and an occasional Tube Driver, I don't want anything more coloring my sound or complicating my life. This wah lets me simply use a wah when I want one and ignore it when I don't. It is never off when I want it on, never on when I want it off. It makes almost no sound turning on/off, and lets me know with a dim LED when I should put in a new battery.
It sounds great, very expressive and smooth. It seems built very well. I expect years of reliable use in gigging conditions.
You can dial in the amount of wah boost on the pedal, which makes it very flexible for use in many situations.
There is no switch or the "click" associated with it! As soon as you step on it, it turns on, and then turns off after you take your foot off. There is an adjustable delay to turn off the pedal, which is useful, and I found that I really enjoy the feel of a "spring-return" in the pedal.
The footpedal itself has a good range of motion for a variety of expressive sounds.
If you think that most Crybaby wahs:
1) make too much noise turning on/off (no indicator, either)
2) have a squeaky pedal with not enough range of motion
3) Give too little boost if early in the signal path/too much if inserted after other pedals.
...then you might want to give this one a try.

Along with the volume knob, I would have loved frequency range and Q knobs, too. Just wishful thinking...
I've used it for about a half-dozen funk and rock gigs so far and love it!
It seems to be built very sturdily and sounds great. It seems as durable as a Crybaby and then some.
This pedal is very quiet and does not suck tone when bypassed!
It is fairly hungry for 9V batteries, but it does have a connector for a 9VDC adapter.
Great value! Seriously, I know I am happier with this pedal than I would be with most of the $150+ models that I see. Considering the quality of the case and components, I am really impressed with the price.

Comments about Ibanez WD7JR Weeping Demon Wah Junior Guitar Effects Pedal:

This Wah pedal really has a look and sound all its own.I really must say it has some serious firepower for a good price. It has good features like the Auto-On which means no more annoying pop when hitting the on switch,so instead it senses your foot and just works !! Theres also a time delay knob so you can put the wah effect in real quick and sweetin up your Bends,Arpeggios,Tapwork, pinch harmonics,or whatever makes you feel like Bringin the Tears.Theres no coloration or loss in tone when plugged in and not using the effect so the bypass is really up to par with most high-end Wah pedals. The Build Quality feels tough and well constructed and overall im really pleased with this Wah pedal.I Recommend this to anyone on a budget or wanting something that just looks and sounds different.

Comments about Ibanez WD7JR Weeping Demon Wah Junior Guitar Effects Pedal:

I replaced my Morley with this pedal as I wanted better on/off control and accuracy. The pedal is spring-loaded and instantly turns on when you depress it, and off when you release it, and you can set a short (up to 1-1.5 sec?) delay time before it turns off via the delay knob. You can't walk away and leave the pedal turned on, therefore, which may be an issue for some. The WD7 Jr has a very typical wah sound and throw range, and the sound stays full across whole range. This is not as extreme-sounding as the Morley. There is a level boost knob which actually works. It really hogs batteries, so consider a power supply. It is solidly built and fairly large, bigger than a Dunlop. Overall, a great wah as long as you don't like to leave it turned on.

Weeping Demon Jr - Very Good Wah

    By Victor Hadnot

Comments about Ibanez WD7JR Weeping Demon Wah Junior Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've been playing guitar since I was 9 and I'm 57. I've played and owned all sorts of pedals and effects over the course of the years. I was looking for a good wah, having been a diehard fan of the Crybaby, in all it's incarnations. Hate Vox! Had a Morley at one point. But this Christmas, my girlfriend gave me a Weeping Demon Jr. I gave her a kiss and went and hooked it up to the rest of my rig.

This has got to be one of the best wah pedals out there, I'm guessing that the Weeping Demon 7 is even better than the Jr. But, as far as sound goes, it blows away most of the wahs I've used. Cuts right through a mix. It is so versatile, seriously, I don't know why it isn't touted as the fire breather that it is. Damn good pedal!

The Jr doesn't have a bypass switch, and the WD7 does have an on/off mini pedal attached. But from what I can tell, neither are true bypass, however, the sound it makes when it is engeded, isnothing short of amazing. I'm beign very serious, it will blow away a Crybaby, and it is made like a tank.

If Ibanez decide to make this pedal true bypass, which wouldn't be difficult, all it requires, is that you let the clean signal pass right through the unit, when not engaged, then this thing would be epic, because it is so versatile. It also has trem pots located under the bottom plate.

Tone is sweeter than a Dunlop Cry Baby. Beautiful companion to my Morley Power Wah! By the way, the Stupid Deal of the Day is wicked cool!!

I bought this wah as a result of one of MF's crazy deals of the day. It was cheap enough, reputable make (Ibanez) so I said, what the heck. I use it in my home recording studio and I can't think of anything bad to say about it. It's easy to use, great sound and easy to control the effects. I also have an EHX fuzz wah which is a bit more difficult to use but nonetheless a great product also. I guess you can say I'm a bit wah wah for wah wah's.

I like the switchless-ness of the Morley brand but the pedal is huge on my board. This is a nice smaller version. It has good adjustments - especially the foot tension. The wah is wah but not too shrill and not too dense. This was a good pickup and a great add to my pedal world.

Nice WAH it has the classic sound but it is smoother than the old type units and it has more control options with the Auto-off and level setings. I like the push lock buttons it makes it nice to know the levels are set where you left them. I also like the fact that it is self returning to the up position and that this tension is adjustable for comfort. Overall decent unit especially for the stupid deal price I got it for, but it is worth the money at regulat price if you want a good WAH imo.

I liked the auto on function of my Morley Mark Tremonti pedal but always hated the tone and range . This pedal satisfied my need for auto on off and has great cry baby like tone. It's a keeper and a permanent part of my pedalboard.

Wah is a dynamic effect that is really the result of the players finess. Stomp away on any wah and bore the audience pretty fast. Use it judiciously with clear intent and your sound becomes alive. I particularly like the smaller diminutive size of this model compared to their other Weeping Demon
This pedal offers superb wah, it's up to the player to extract it.
Adjustable pedal tension, auto reset time, unique design unlike allmost all other wah's all combine with an astonishing low price point make this a winner. Silent trasparent operation when off. Otherworldly Wah sounds when engaged. I like going on wah when i play harmonic squeelies. This pedal creates beautiful sounds that feel so good.
Opto design creates flawless sound. case is robust about same size as Ernie Ball volume pedal. Recessed controls work perfetly.
Where can you find this quality at such an incredible price?

Comments about Ibanez WD7JR Weeping Demon Wah Junior Guitar Effects Pedal:

It is funny how some of the better products are little talked about. As your average guitarist about a wah and they'll talk about a Crybaby, Vox, Fulltone, etc. But you might never hear them say, Ibanez Weeping Demon. But this pedal is great for recording, which I do a lot of. It is well made. Sounds fantastic, veru expressive.
I got this pedal for Christmas. I actually researched this pedal before I got it. This is a really good wah pedal. I don't know why, for the life of me, that more guitarist aren't flocking over to this pedal. I do a lot of recording, and man, does this pedal sing. I have been playing ever since I was 9 yrs old. And I'm 57 this year, so, I've been through a lot of gear in my life. I used to use a Crybaby. Very good pedal. I've also used a Vox. Another good pedal. But, this thing can match them both, and then, go where they can't. Seriously, I'm very impressed with this product. Oh, and it is really well built.
Like I said, just got this for Christmas. Built very well. Good feel. Wah is very versitile. Solidly made.
Common on. For a wah pedal made this well, and sounding this good. You can not beat the price. Great product and an even better price.
