Jet City Amplification

Jet City's isolation cab is a great solution for recording, controlling stage volume, and a variety of other sound applications.

Wanna crank your tube amp in a home recording environment? Need to manage your stage volume and feed the mains in a club? Jet City turned to its allies at Eminence Speaker for expertise in creating the JetStream 12 guitar speaker. Eminence designed the isolation cabinet to exact specifications, and handled the super-smart stuff in the acoustic design too. Then it was loaded with a custom Eminence Jet City 12″ driver.

For recording, the Jet City JetStream cabinet's isolation lets you record your amp full out, reflecting your true tone without waking the neighbors or inviting visits from the cops.

Plug your tube amp into the JetStream speaker input, and set up your amp tones—go ahead and turn it up. Clip in your favorite guitar-recording mic and position it how you prefer. Then close up the JetStream guitar speaker's front door, greatly reducing the sound level in the room.

  • Isolation cab designed by Eminence

Best bang for the buck

By Mark Gregory

Comments about Jet City Amplification JetStream 12 ISO 1x12 Isolation Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Overall, after a few adjustments, I have been able to get really good tone with this cab and an SM57 without pissing off my neighbors. It cuts down the volume by about 75%, which is great. A must have if you can't crank your amps at home but want to.
The features are fairly minimal...a speaker, a gooseneck for the mic, and an XLR and USB output (which I haven't tried yet). I don't see the point of the USB output for an iso cab, seems more like a gimmick to me. The gooseneck is a little tough to position but manageable. It has a nice small footprint and nice finish. I wish they would have made it easier to swap out speakers.
It seems fairly well built. I didn't try the stock Eminence speaker, I replaced it with a Tone Tubby 40/40. The internal sound padding is OK, but it leaves some midrange resonance. I added a layer of 1" Auralex wedges all around and that helped.
For the money, it is a great. It would cost almost the same to build something similar, plus the time spent doing it. I looked at other options (the Rivera and Demeter iso cabs) and they seemed way too pricey. This was perfect for my price range. Throw your favorite speaker in there and add about $20 of extra foam and you are good to go.

Great Studio Option!

Comments about Jet City Amplification JetStream 12 ISO 1x12 Isolation Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

The Jet City Isolation Cabinet is a great cabinet to have in your studio. I'm a big Eminence speaker fan so I was interested when I heard Eminence supplied the speaker and helped with the design.I use Marshall, Randall, and Sunn tube amps to power this cabinet. A Shure mike is what I chose to use and have had great results.

Lots of resonance, in a bad way.

Comments about Jet City Amplification JetStream 12 ISO 1x12 Isolation Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I really wanted to like this cabinet. I own a lot of nice tube heads of various wattages. The resonant frequencies at 150hz and 3khz make this cabinet very difficult to use. The recorded sound is very disappointing. The cabinet is very well made and looks great. I even changed speakers to a Celestion vintage 30. That barely helped. Perhaps someone can recommend a speaker for this cabinet.
