With this handy unit around, there's no more excuses not to practice anymore brothers and sisters...Yes, the Pandora Mini is an excellent Swiss Army Knife-like tool for your guitar, with superb sound quality only if listening through similarly worthy headphones or speakers. Pointless to complain otherwise if one has no common sense. These types of units rarely sound good through a typical guitar amp anyway, as either one or the other's sound quality is compromised. My experience is always best direct to headphones or speakers (PA, etc.) So just keep your marriage of pedals and amp as gospel. My only negative is I don't understand the purpose of including a USB interface when it can't be used to work directly with a DAW on your PC/Mac, as I assumed it would. One can only record using the line-out or headphone jack the good old-fashioned way. Though it's still worth experimenting with as there's plenty of usable sounds and rhythms for songwriting ideas. 'Your only limitation is your own imagination.'So it's excellent for what it was basically designed for; practicing and as a musical sketchpad. Not to mention blasting away at 2:00am without someone beating down your door or calling the cops with noise complaints. Ah, the good old days;-)Wise to get the latest Korg driver & software editor, instead of fiddling too much with the tiny controls on the unit itself. Apart from an overwhelming thumbs up overall, disappointingly the USB interfaces' only usable function is the software editing and to save on battery life and/or recharge your lithium rechargeables. With any luck someone from Korg will be listening somewhere and develop a downloadable firmware patch/update that will enable true USB user interface for DAW recording as well. Then it definitely gets a full 5 star rating from me for sure. But enough of my perfectionist whining...get your card out and buy one now; you'll love it!

The unit is nice looking and small and easy to use (without the manual). Its size would make it perfect for practicing on the go. But the sounds are usable at best, and most of them are not really inspiring. On the whole the sounds are sharp and hissy (not really warm), feel a bit lame and lack punch. Some sounds hiss too much to be usable. You really need a good (big) pair of headphones. Through mp3 player (iPod) style headphones the unit sounds very thin. This makes it less practical to take the unit with you in your guitar case. Loads of effects, the most of which you won't use in a real life scenario anyway. Good for playing with the unit itself, not for playing guitar. There are some nice Blackface and Vox type clean sounds though, which are not really loud enough. I didn't try it with an amp (I bought it for silent practicing), because I'd rather use decent effect units for that. I wouldn't feel confident using the unit live plugged it into a PA.Conclusion: The sounds are not that great, you need big headphones which makes portable use of the unit less likely.

Great practice tool, jam along is awesome and the transpose feature is king. The unit has decent sounds and is small enough to fit in any guitar case. Yesterday my reverb quit during a live show. Today this unit wound up on my pedal board and is running through my effects loop. It is a VERY good reverb and echo. Sounds better than my old spring reverb did. Now for the bad, I have never been able to get the software to work correctly and this thing chews up batteries quick with the backlight on. Also, it takes a while to learn how to navigate through the menus, but it's not super difficult to learn, and the unit has four user presets. once you get it sounding right, you can save the tones. For only [$], this thing is awesome!!

Comments about Korg Pandora Mini PXMINI Guitar Multi-Effects Processor:

Over all, I would say it is the most feature-packed version of the Pandora, but I still wish they has used the same compressor as the original PX-1. Even high-end compressors don't provide that sustaining type compression. The first generation is an enigma, an if you ever come across a used one, you should scoop it up!!
I have used Pandora since its first inception, the PX-1 (compressor of which I have still found no equal, even with succeeding models). I have placed Velcro on them so they can hang out on the back of my bass for quick and easy patch changes, but also to 'Y' they out to a pair of In-ear monitors - this new model has a dedicated headphone line, so I do not have to suffer the loss of tone therein.
Some of the effects are impractical, yet very amazing none the less. All in all, the are list and not tinny like so many other processors in this price range. Very impressed with the longevity of a single AA battery in this model. The REMS modeling is a vast improvement, yet I still favor the crush distortion of my PX1 when playing regular guitar.
An unbelievable value for the money. Love the extremely portable design too. Great rhythm trainer and nice ability to drop or raise the aux pitch to keep the altered tuning of the guitar just to learn a song by.

Comments about Korg Pandora Mini PXMINI Guitar Multi-Effects Processor:

This thing is great. It's small, it can be powered by battery, or USB, and has so many effects I'm not sure what to do with some of them...With time I'll figure it out. I play in a small room, and this thing is great for me to do my practicing or playing to blow off steam. This would be great for parents that have a kid learning to play, or for people that live in a dormitory setting. Playing through head phones gives you the big amp feel...and gives your parents or room-mates relief.
This little thing has more options than I know what to do with. Song presets, rhythm programs, guitar tuner, and so many effects... Much more than I expected. Can run on a single AA battery, or but pluged into a USB port for power.
Most things by Korg are great...this little box is no exception. Feels solid in my hands. Good craftsmanship.
Big bang for your buck...that is for sure. So many effects in a little box... This is certainly Pandora's box before she opened it.

Comments about Korg Pandora Mini PXMINI Guitar Multi-Effects Processor:

A cool toy, but this unit lacks quality patches. This is my first Pandora, & it's fun to play with, but the hiss & high pitch ring that echo's when you stop playing, will keep this from seeing any pro application in my home studio. I bought this to use with my 2nd setup though, a Tascam dp-008, which has almost no effects & also runs on battery's, & an Alesis sr-18 drum machine. When used together, they're portable, & should make for a good songwriting scratch pad. Also, I feel this would be a good (& cheap) unit for a lot of my younger students. I'm still looking forward to trying out some of the bass presets too. Bottom line: for the price, this is a cool unit for anyone looking to add a few somewhat useable rig's for practiceing & recording ideas on the fly, from an extremly portable processor that will fit in your shirt pocket.

You get a ton of cool sound with it in a portable and well-made package. It can also be plugged in a PA system. I only use it to practice now because I also have a Tubeman II which is great for DI recording. I have a Vox amplug and a line 6 pocket pod. I would recommend this over the Vox and line 6. It is the best for its use as a practice tool but don't expect to record a Grammy with it.

Comments about Korg Pandora Mini PXMINI Guitar Multi-Effects Processor:

It is a good unit per re. The intention is to have a super portable fx you can literally bring along anywhere and dig it with your guitar. Has tons of fx available at the twist of a knob. The unit is affordable. With a good PA you can use it in a live situation wherein switching patches is not often needed. Might do it one time. Well, I know someone who use this to improve the sound of his acoustic guitar. Mostly for ambient, reverb, delay, chorus setting.I have a few quips with this unit - The sterile sounding (maybe because I got used to with stomp boxes)- noisy/hissy patches which I find annoying.- You will need a good PA or a better headphones to improve the quality of sound.- As of April '11 there is no available software editor yet.
