Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I bought 2 of these cabs (16 ohm each) & ran a 1/4" mono y-splitter (final 8 ohm rating) to my new Fender Super Champ 15Watt tube head and it sounds fantastic!!! Since its not a 1/2 stack (4x12)and is only a 2x12 setup...I call it my 1/4 pounder practice amp!!! lol!! Maybe somewhere down the road I will upgrade the 12" speakers, but for now they sound great!!! This is my economical tube practice amp setup as I have another monster 120watt tube 1/2 stack for my main gig rig, but this is an inexpensive tube amp setup that sounds great!! I would recommend this setup for practice, small or medium sized venues. I am one happy customer thank you Musicians Friend!!!

Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Got this to beef up my 1x10 combo practice amp which is a custom built low watt tube amp with a Rajun Cajun that is very bright. This cab is a perfect match. It adds the depth and warmth I was looking for. The cabinet empty is a good deal at the price I paid. This is a steal.

For the price there is nothing that can touch this. I'm using it at home with my Egnater Tweaker 15, use with my Gretsch CVT and Classic Vibe 50's tele. It's a great sound combo. Breaks up nice and easy without having to shake the walls, handles pedals great. If you're trying to decide whether or not to buy it, consider this the lowest risk decsion you'll make all day. Get one.

      great little speaker cabinet

Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

this little cabinet (defender 1x12") is so light it's like carrying a lunch box, yet it puts quality sound out at the same volume level as my fender super sonic! i used it last weekend at a gig and it provided the sound the
rest of the band members on the other side of the stage needed. i would recomend this speaker cabinet to anyone doing small clubs.and at the end of the night, no heavy hauling, even my granny could load it in the trailer for me!

      Defender 1X12 Extension Cabinet

      By ClaudeBenjamin

      from Indianapolis, IN

Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

I would buy again, very nice cab and good sound from the stock speaker for a reasonable price.
Very simple to use, plug it in and go! I use mine as an extension cabinet for a Blackstar HT-5 Combo and am very pleased with the result.
Very good quality IMO. Well constructed open back design. If you are looking for an inexpensive cabinet for your studio or bedroom, this would be a good option. I don't believe it would stand up to the riggers of the road though.
Great Value. Nice design and good sounding speaker for the price.

      Nice cab...

      By K-SOLO

      from ohio

Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Got this Kustom 1X12 a few weeks ago. I did my homework on it "before" i purchased it. I "knew" it was a semi open back cab(with the intentions on closing the back in.)I also knew that i would be changing the speaker out from the stock Kustom 12"...to a Jensen 12". This cab is well made with no probs, and yes the gentleman up above is right about the bolt pattern for mounting another speaker...but when i mounted the new Jensen 12" speaker,i used the two mounting holes that lined up,and just screwed in some new small wood screws in the remaining mounting holes...with "no-prob". I inclosed the small "semi-opening",on the back with a piece of "home-insulating" white styrofoam(1/2" thick.) This cab sounds "SUPER-SWEET" now! I use a "custom-made" 5-watt tube head with it...and the pair "sings like overdriven angels"!(the black tolex&silver&black grill cloth on this cab, matches my black tolexed 5 watt head.) This is the cheapest-priced,well-made 1X12" cab(with a speaker,)you can buy..."PERIOD"! If you do your homework on an item BEFORE you purchase it...you wont get any suprises when you recieve it.

      Bright sounding Speaker...

      By Nickster

      from Toronto, ON

Comments about Kustom Defender 1x12 Guitar Speaker Cabinet:

Got this to use with a 12 watt tube head. Well, this is a very bright sounding speaker - no bass to speak of. The box construction is good but the Tolex is way too thin. The feet on this cab are the exact same size as the feet on Kustom's KG1 mini amp. I think this thing needs a closed back or a speaker with a heavier magnet and a smooth cone. I'm going to trade it for the Epiphone Valve Junior 1x12 Extension Cab. Not worth changing the speaker since the box is MDF. BTW - the speaker is held in by 6 bolts - yes 6! Kustom is out to lunch here; the International standard for 12" guitar speakers is 4 or 8. If you install an after market speaker, you can only use 2 of the existing bolts. The others holes won't line up...
