The Line 6 DT50 212 Guitar Combo Amp is medium sized with an amplification system that is able to configure and adapt its analog components and digital modeling in real time.
This means that when you select a model, the DT50 Amp instantly reconfigures the tube power section to provide the optimal tone. The digital section monitors the tube power section and can adjust the DSP in real-time.
At high volumes, the tubes provide more distortion. At low volumes, the modeling delivers more of the coloration. The digital section now “talks” to the analog section, and vice versa.
Matched with 2 Celestion speakers, the DT50 212 gives you great tone and authentic feel at all volumes all the time.

This amp is amazing. Really was never a fan of Line 6 and I would love to sit here and pick it apart and find something wrong, but I really think Line 6 and Bogner hit the nail on the head with this one.
The amp is loud enough to play at any gig and blow the doors off and with the power-cut (pull the master volume), quiet enough to easily practice with at home without waking up the neighborhood.
The ability to dial in different tones gives you the versatility of all the best amp models and that great Bogner tube sound. Would owning a Vox, Boogie, Fender and Marshall be better? Sure. But who the heck has that kind of space and money!? And honestly, some of the tones that come out of this amp are, in my opinion, better than some of the vintage amps.
Would not trade this amp for anything. Can't wait to pick up a Line 6 HD500 and see what kind of tones I can get out this beast.
Be aware...this thing is a BEAST and HEAVY! Good build, but don't expect to lug it around easily. Invest in a road case or casters.

Recently witnessed YES in concert. This was Steve Howe's amp. I could not believe my eyes, No M Stack, no F twin. Just this amp standing all by itself and it sounded incredible. It was miked and the tones were amazing. The Edge uses this also. Please, no naysayers, just save up and buy this amp. Make sure you get a POD 500 HD floorboard and you can now sound like anything!

This amp is not the greatest thing since sliced bread, it's the greatest thing...EVER!
I have had 2 of these amps plus and HD 500 for about 4 months now, and I still haven't explored all of the tonal potential of my new rig. You might think that the most amazing thing about this amp is the fact that the valve section can reconfigure itself to one of 4 different tube amplifier topologies on the fly. That is amazing, but the most amazing thing is the fact that this amp can do that and, not only sound like an amp of the chosen topology, but also responds and behaves exactly like you would expect an amp of that topology to. It's like having 4 completely different awesome sounding tubes amp in one package. Given this fact, I really don't understand the diminished "Value" rating given by the 2 previous reviews. Four awesome tube amps + 2 12 inch Celestions for this price is a freakin' STEAL! Reinhold Bogner has simply outdone himself with the valve section, and Line 6 absolutely nailed the implementation!

I bought the dt50 after seeing the andertons review on youtube. I am just in awe of this amp, it is so versatile and organic sounding, it sounds great at low practice volumes and has a huge sound when cranked. This think litterally sounds better then my tube halfstack cranked. I am in the process of selling 2 of my amps because this thing easily takes their place. I would be happy I think with a midi controller for this amp and maybe 3 effects, but since that is unavailable atm I have the hd500 to do my switching. I have partially recorded two songs now without effects pedal just the organic sound of the amp using the cab direct out. I'll review the hd500 another time but the take home message is that this amp is crazy versatile and sounds amazing at any level. I put the value at 4.5 because my most expensive amp before this was $1000 and this is way better then that amp, but I have not personally played through other $1500 amps.

Wow I just received order today and it's fantastic. I have some great amps that I love from the Mesa Boogie Mark-5, Orange Terror, Dual Terror, Vetta II, Marshall 1987x, Vox Night Train, Bugera, Spider Valve 1, Peavey XXX. All of them are great IMHO but this one is WOW!!!. It sounds great by itself but of course you need to pair it with the HD500 (which I also have) to really put it in orbit. I won't be able to explain how good it sounds so once again I'll just say WOW!!! Try it, and if you're thinking about getting it, just do it because you won't be disappointed. I gave it a 4 on value only because I wish it were cheaper. PS it even sound great at low volume. Turn it up! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
