OVERVIEW

The burly, full-sized pedal feels solid under your foot and features plenty of speed, tone, and control.

Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Footswitch isn't your average footcontroller. It's a full-on remote control that keeps you at the foot of the stage instead of tied to the front of your Line 6 amp or POD processor. It offers all the classic advantages you expect from a Line 6 foot controller, including rock-solid channel switches, a rugged wah/volume pedal and an oversized backlit display, but it's also full of surprises.

The steel footswitches give you total control over your tone. Dedicated footswitches let you change, scroll and select presets with uncompromised speed, add or remove effects in an instant, synchronize all your time-based effects with Tap Tempo, and more.

Load up to 64 presets in the 4 banks. Adding individual or simultaneous effects on top of each preset allows for on-the-fly colorization and customization of your tones. An added bonus: the well-spaced guitar footswitches are conveniently laid out so that you're not stepping on two at once (unless you want to).

Click the toe to volley back and forth between volume and wah-wah control. (Adding an expression pedal provides dedicated volume control.) Oversized and backlit, the LCD is big, bright and easy to read. It shows you everything you need to know including preset name chromatic tuner display.

Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII is compatible with and connects to your Line 6 amp or POD processors via the included locking RJ-45 cable. The FBV footswitch also features a USB jack that can be used for upgrading the firmware of Spider IV and Spider Valve MKII amplifiers.

Perfectly paired with Spider IV and Spider Valve MKII amplifiers, this FBV Shortboard footswitch provides complete, handsfree control of the looper, pitch-shifter and other on-board effects.

FEATURES
  • Total floor control of your Line 6 amp and POD

  • Burly, full-sized volume/wah pedal with plenty of grip

Best controller value going. Berhinger FC1010 is cheaper, however, its a PITA to program and you need to switch the ROM chip etc if you want to use it as a true midi pedalboard, plus its not USB either while the FBV is.
With the Line6 editor you can assign any midi CC, program changet etc to ANY button on the unit. That means you've got 13 assignable foot switches plus the EXP pedal and its switch.

You can have a row set to turn effects on/off with control over if they work as a toggle, or momentary switch, value on, value off etc. You can have a row as MMC for your DAW, or you can have a row set up to switch patches, present increase/decrease, you name it.

Fantastic versatility. I don't even own a Line6 amp but really am pleased with using this with Amplitube, TH2 and others.

SImple plug in play, USB powered as well, No adapters needed like the FC300
Good solid build, metal not plastic, foot switches seem solid and the EXP pedal is really smooth
Fantastic value when compared to Roland FC300 for over $400 or the upcoming IK Stealthboard for $300, this does just as much as those for much less money

I thought I was buying a great piece of equipment for my guitar use. If you do not like computers...DON'T BUY LINE SIX PRODUCTS! I can't figure out how to use my amp or pedal. It can make some amazing tones but I have know idea how to program it. It's very discouraging and I have been playing guitar for years! This product didn't even come with directions!

If you have a Line6 Spider 75 amp please get this add on. This pedal really opens up all the capabilities of this amp and, makes it a lot easier to use. Small and, easy to hookup and, to transport. Gator makes a bag that is perfect to put this pedal in. Enjoy.............

I bought this to use with my new Spider Jam--together they make a great team. With this board I can control the record function and drum/song tracks on the fly. The wha is awesome. You simply have to learn to put the board in record mode, and then the down side is you have to put it back in the regular mode to switch pedal presets.

Made with real metal--it seems tuff enough.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I bought this simply to have a lighter alternative to lugging the longboard, however it was not a simple plug and play.
It seemed to me that the signal is not the same and I would have had to redo all of my presets.
The biggest drawback for me is that the readout window is much smaller than the longboard, and that was the deal breaker.
Had the window of been the same size then I would have taken the time to readjust the settings, in order to have a lighter piece of equipment.
That being said, it is a well made piece of hardware, and an asset to those with better vision than this old timer.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I like this pedal but only because i had to have it for my Line 6 halfstack. Its really nothing special it just does what your amp alredy does except its on the floor and makes things more simple. Theres no real knock on the pedal except i'm a big guy and the switch's are to close together for me to be comfortable. I also don't like that you can only switch through user presets, I think thats kind of lame considering how many awsome factory presets that line 6 amps come with. You can always move your faveorite's to the user banks but it's still lame. I think this pedal should come included with the high grade Line 6 amps. Half stacks, Tube, Bogner, etc. But they don't soooo. This pedal does what its supposed to thats about it. Durability i can't be sure of since i havn't had it very long but it seems tough. A 2 year service plan is reccomended though if your going to be stomping this thing alot. Its not built like a Digitech RP1000 Guitar workstation. Its kind of whimpy in comparison to multi EFX processers. I only reccomend this procuct to people who really need it, if you don't need it, you could find something much better to do with your money.

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I've been using line 6 for about 7 years now. I started with the line 6 valve 212, and just a few months ago purchased the HD100 half stack.

When I got my valve 212, I purchased the express pedal. I thought it was amazing. The ability to change to four different channels and have a volume and wah pedal was amazing. I was totally satisfied.

After purchasing the shortboard, I now know how powerful it is to be able to control all the channels, as well as all of your effects. And the pedal is a higher quality pedal as in its sturdier and the volume pedal/wah are more precise.

My only con about this pedal is that I have no easy way to carry it. I'm still looking into finding a suitable bag.

Other then that, I'm totally satisfied with my purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Flexible controller, works great with Spider Valve (the version before MKII)

Comments about Line 6 FBV Shortboard MKII Guitar Footswitch:

I own a Spider Valve (the version before MKII), and I needed a way to control flang and delay wile singing. This product is able to accomplish this. The one little nit is that when you switch to a new channel, the shortboard only allows you to control these features if the channel had them enabled in the first place. This is my experience anyway. It is a small thing to overcome, but I would have preferred the ability to enable flang and delay after switching to a new channel and without having to get back to the amp first.
