I owned a POD PRO 2 years ago. I recorded my whole last CD with a POD PRO. I then got rid of my POD PRO. The BIGGEST mistake I ever made. Why did I get rid of it? Because I thought "Wow, here's the POD XT this will sound even better!" Wrong buckwheat. The XT in my opinion did not sound NEARLY as good as the POD PRO. Luckily I snagged a new one here from MF. I will NEVER get rid of this again. They really missed the mark on the XT. And I think Line 6 realized this. Why did they overhaul the ENTIRE engine of the XT with the new 2.01 firmware? It did sound closer to the original POD but still way off. I've played guitar for almost 30 years. I know great guitar tone. I don't know what Line 6 was thinking with the XT. If you are thinking like I was, DON'T SELL your POD PRO. It is the best preamp out there for home recording, or to use with a power amp and cabs.
I was totally blown away by this unit as soon as plugged my guitar into it. Instead of blowing all my money on the individual amps and going on a neverending quest to find all of themI get a buttload of tones for my live and recording set up. I can now dial up just about any tone I want. I highly recommend this to any guitarist beginner to seasoned pro. You can definitely rock out no matter what kind of music you play.
This rack unit is a great value. Lots of diferent amp mods which all sound good. This unit, along with some basic software effects is all you need to record awsome sounding guitar tracks in any music style. Great conncectivity for studio use and very little line noise even in the really distorted channels. I highly reccomend it if you are on a budget!!!
I have been playing the guitar pretty well for over 15 years now. I play in and out of bands and churches. I can recognize a good piece of art when I see it or... when I hear it. I have used Line 6 modeling gear before, but the gear was soon sold because it didn't perform well for me. Line 6 didn't perform well, for me, until NOW! The POD Pro is an awesome, powerful piece of gear to own. It really Rocks! Buy it at all costs, my fellow musicians! It won't let you down! I use the POD Pro with my 2004 Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster and Marshall JCM2000 TSL-100 Head w/ 1960A 4x12 Cabinet. I can Do almost everything I've ever dreamed of with this set-up. The effects selection is somewhat limited I think. Maybe Line 6 could have added more control over the effects. But the Amps selection is what kills! I really believe Line 6 is performing well now, which was impossible for me to say a month ago. When I want my Strat to sound like it's going through a 1996 Matchless Chieftain, I set the POD to its proper Preset, put my TSL-100 on Clean, and BOOM! It really sounds like it's GOING THROUGH a Matchless Chieftain. The tone is all there, Buddy! All the tone you could imagine. And the same thing goes with the 1960 Vox AC 30 Preset. It's all awesome! I'm real proud to own this Line 6 "piece of fine art" unit. It's my first. And now, It probably won't be my last. Keep it up, Line 6!
This thing is amazing! I've only had it for three hours and I'm confident that this will change how I will play in my studio. This is a definite must have for anyone.
Man I just recieved my POD PRO this morning. Let me tell you; I have been jamming for 6 hours straigt and I did not have enough. This amp is more than I could ever imagined it would be. I run this rack thru Electro Harmonics Tubed preamp, marshall 9200 100watt power amp and 1960A 4*12 CAB. Man talk about loud and all the ledgendary tones ever. My favourite settings are All Brits because I am a die hard Marshall fan and the Rectifier modes. Ok I am not gonna lie, they are not 100% acurate creating the legendary amp tones but they are 99%+ there. You wont be able to tell the diffrence. If you are a guitar player good enough to produce what you wanna hear, this is definately a great piece for a live set up. You cant go wrong this thing, if you have the right equipment! ad the know how to tweek!!!
