Modeling flexibility fused with tube amp performance.

The result of a groundbreaking collaborative effort between living-legend amp designer Reinhold Bogner and renowned amp-modeling upstarts Line 6, Spider Valve MkII 112 40-watt combo amplifier offers the best of both worlds: brawny, boutique-style tube amp tone and the latest, most advanced Line 6 amp modeling with complete flexibility and deep editing.

Acclaimed amp tones
The Line 6 Spider Valve 112 amp has the tools and tones you need to build your sound from the ground up. It features 16 of the most advanced Line 6 amp models, which were inspired by the most revered American, British and European heads and combos. Each one was custom-tuned for Spider Valve MkII amps.

Get in front of sparkling clean tones inspired by a Hiwatt Custom 100, syrupy smooth drive tones inspired by a mix of a '65 Marshall JTM-45, a '58 Fender Bassman and a '63 Fender Vibroverb, British pop/rock tones inspired by a Vox AC-30 Top Boost, high-gain onslaughts inspired by a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier and a Diezel Herbert, Class A crunch inspired by a Divided by 13 9/15, classic Class A breakup inspired by an Orange AD-30, and more! Store every gig's tones with the Line 6 Spider Valve's 128 user-programmable presets.

Need to shape your tone? Tweak the Line 6 Spider Valve amplifier's Bass, Mid and Treble knobs just like you would on the original vintage amps. When you choose an amp model, the EQ section behaves just like the EQ section of the modeled amplifier. Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MkII guitar amp gives you a complete, organic and fully authentic representation of its 16 vintage and modern amplifiers.

An instant sound collection of essential FX
Start smart and dive deep with the unprecedented control of Line 6 Smart FX. It features 20 brilliant effects, delivering unprecedented color, adjustability and routing options. You can tweak up to 6 parameters of any effect—including the intelligent Smart Harmony and Pitch Glide, and easy-to-use 14-second Quick Loop—and route it pre or post for an extraordinary collection of tone-shaping tools. Plus, you get every guitarist's required palette of colors including beautiful Delays, tangy Mods, lush Reverbs and more. Up to 4 effects can be used simultaneously.

Fully editable, deeply sophisticated
Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 112 is poised to become the workhorse amp for all kinds of pro players. Its seamless integration into MIDI rigs allows for quick changes to all front-panel controls, easy synching of your time-based effects (to themselves and to your drummer's click-track) as well as other time- and energy-saving features. Plus, two output modes deliver easy and effective solutions for direct-recording and gigging. Performance Mode lets you send a signal, which provides tube and modeling interaction, via the XLR out to the front-of-house engineer. Studio Mode bypasses the tubes to send the platinum-album Line 6 modeling only.

Brawny tube tone
Many so-called tube amps employ low-voltage "marketing" tubes to add authenticity to their "tube amp" claim. The Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 112 guitar amp boasts bona fide Bogner-designed preamp and power amp sections that run at lethal voltages (about 300 volts and 450 volts, respectively) to produce exceptional depth, tonal coloration and richness.

The signal from the Line 6 front-end flows into the pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes to produce creamy, cascading distortions and enriched tube harmonics. The perfectly matched pair of 6L6 power tubes then drives the Celestion Vintage 30 speaker to provide unprecedented sonic impact.

Exceptional feel
After being poured from the 12-inch Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, your tone soaks up the spanky thump of the tuned three-quarter closed-back cabinet. The result is a guitar speaker with tight low-end punch for a truly exceptional feel.

Handsfree control and more
Line 6 FBV foot controllers deliver out-of-the-box volume/wah, pitch control, preset control and more. FBV Shortboard MkII pairs perfectly with Line 6 Spider Valve 112 to offer complete, handsfree control of the on-board Line 6 Spider Valve MkII effects including Quick Loop, Smart Harmony and more. The guitar amplifier's bright and backlit oversized LCD makes it easy to see preset names and the chromatic tuner.

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I owned one of the solid state line 6 amps a few years back, with little complaints, but i eventually moved to a tube amp as my playing progressed. So, needless to say, when line 6 put out tube amps with bogner, i was super interested.. This amp is amazing! Literally the best amp Ive ever heard! I play everything from soft jazz to speed metal, with Schector C1 series guitars, fender strats, a couple ESP guitars, from passive to EMG's, and this amp can do it all. The lows are super deep, yet crystal clear, even with the gain cranked up. Ive got an Egnator 100w tube head and a Blue voodoo 120w that doesn't touch this Line 6! The only thing Ive heard to rival the distortion channels on this amp is maybe the Peavey 6505 in my basement, and an old school Mesa single rec that my friend had hotrodded. But honestly, neither of those amps could touch the clean channels you can produce with the Line 6. Awesome amp!

    A lot of everything

    By Trey Coffia

    from Pell city. Al

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Overall, I would recommend this amp to any level of guitarist, playing any style. From clear crisp cleans, to wailing metal distortion, the Line 6 is capable of pleasing even the most elitist of players. As an extreme audiophile and someone very concerned with tone, I can't say enough how happy I am with the amp.
Over the years I have purchased many amps. Ampeg, Fender, Marshall and Crate brands have all graced my house. Notice how I use the past tense to refer to them. The Line 6 Spyder Valve MKII has become and will remain my main amp. Line 6 has always been at the cutting edge of amp modeling tech. So much that one can only assume they must have coined the term. The Spyder Valve is maybe the only amp I've owned that truly delievers on all the promises made.
Beyond the $750 price tag the amp demands, I've found that the Line 6 is worth every penny spent. The overall value is what kept me from purchasing the amp sooner. For a 1x12 $750 is a lot, especially for a starving musician. However, once I opened the box and started to play, I found the value to be there.

Best of Both worlds- tube & modeling in one amp; FBV shortboard a MUST

    By Peacemover

    from Abington, PA

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

    Overall excellent- see above.
The Line 6 Spider Valve amp is an amazing amp that is the perfect storm of meaty tube amp crunch and the diverse sound pallate of a top notch modeling amp, all in one. The tube portion is engineered by Bogner, who is known for their classic tube amp sound. The modeling aspect of the amp is all Line 6 innovation and includes a wide array of modulation, delay and reverb effects that can be balanced with the drive & presence settings to produce more than 100 amazing tones that basically eliminate the need for effects pedals. For the rockers, you can emulate the tones of Hendrix, Clapton, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, U2, Van Halen and Eric Johnson on up to all the distorted metal tones.

For electric blues you can dial in Stevie Ray Vaughan's tones, BB King, Robert Cray and many more. Same thing with rockabilly and country- you can get Brian Setzer tones, and that classic country twang. It also features a lot of ambient tones that are good for praise, gospel, jazz and more mellow ballads.

Very important suggestion: You MUST pair it with the FBV shortboard to get the best functionality out of the modeling and effects of the amp. The FBV shortboard costs more and well worth every penny. You can get all the above-mentioned effects dialed in on this amp, but to use them as presets on a pedal board you can gig with, you need the FBV shortboard. The shortboard connects via a simple ethernet cable that comes with the board.

Currently I pair the amp with a Fender telecaster (Mexican model with the dual humbuckers), which I also recommend as a great value.
The quality of this amp is incredible. Rugged construction, four vintage vacuum tubes; power switch and standby mode- also has a TRS port (standard mic cable jack) that you can patch directly into a PA or sound system. The standby switch gives you a nice option as well- if you leave it in the "standby" position and are running a line to a sound system, it will only patch directly into the system, if you flip it on you will get sound through both the amp and the system.

This amp is amazingly powerful for a 40 watt 1 x 12 tube/modeling amp. It can fill up a hall seating 300 + people when only turned up to 3 or 4 (out of 10). Presence can also be adjusted as well as bass, mid, treble and drive to give you more or less oomph or punch.

When paired with the FBV shortboard you can also download a free program to your pc or laptop that allows you to pre-program the tones and also download new tones from the website. I keep a standard bank of tones I use a lot in the lower channels (usually a clean, power, ambient, and drive tone for the four you can have per channel). Then, since you get 32 x 4 tones you can potentially load in, I sometimes pre-program a bank of four tones per song- so if we do a ten song set, on slots 6-15 I will program in specific tones I want for each of the songs, then they are right there ready to play with just one foot tap. All this can be done after you download the program by connecting your laptop to the FBV shortboard via a standard cable like you would use for an external hard drive.
The Line 6 Bogner spider valve series isn't cheap, but well worth every penny for a gigging musician in my honest opinion. If you are a beginning player or in a garage band, this may be too much for you, but if you are serious about quality and getting the most bang for your buck- a Line 6-Bogner spider valve amp paired with the FBV shortboard is the way to go.

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is one tough puppy. I haul it once a week plus gigs. Even with only 40 watts it is plenty loud, and with the direct out connection through my PA I have played it outside for 200 people with volume to spare. With the FBV shortboard you can go online and get , and share tones with other tone freaks like me. I love this amp. Love the warm fat tone of the Bogner tube set.
I recommend this amp to beginners and seasoned guitarist.

From Mesa's to Marshalls....This is my FAVORITE!!

    By James Barham

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is the first time Ive ever taken time to write a review. I've played many many amps in my 15 years of playing. My rig for a long time was a Mesa Dual Rec, and a Fender Deville for my cleans. The problem is it's a lot to carry around and you have to carry all of your effects pedals and power supplies, amp switchers etc. I sold all of that and have been using this amp for a while now. I LOVE IT! It is as close as I can get to the sounds I am used to without having to carry around so much gear. And the Spider Valve computer interface is awesome. Being able to organize tones and tweak them with your laptop is very convenient. I highly recommend this amp.

    Pretty darn good

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I would recommend this to starting musicians with some money to spend. Its a great amp for both practicing and paying medium venues.
This amp has almost every effect ever made, or at least it seems that way.
The sound quality wasn't very good compared to many of the previous amps I have used.
This amp is real loud and great for younger players or starters in a band. It will save you money from buying all the pedals.that are inside of this amp.

I actually own the first version of this amp. It seems to me that they are pretty much the same except this version has more bells and whistles. In some ways less is more on the older version. I may upgrade eventually if I am in need of more sounds.

I have 2 years with this amp. The first version of the spider valve 112. Never had a problem with it. You can dial any tone from nice cleans to shimmering insanes to bluesy crunchy tone. Defenitely this is the best bang for the buck. If you need and amp with the rich sound of tubes mixed with modeling for different tones and styles. This is your best bet! I recommend changing tubes to your preferences.

    a real treasure

    By Bazooka

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was shopping for an amp to replace my JCM 900, I was getting kinda tired of hauling that half stack around and wanted to downsize. At first I was looking at a Vox but a friend told me about this new line-6 Bogner..Now honestly you couldn't give me a line-6 ,maybe for a boat anchor. Man was I amazed by the sounds I was putting together and the volunes and tones I was amazed. This amp fits and my needs. I have owned MesaBoogie , and Marshall JCM, Peaveys and fenders and so far this Amp and peavey are the best work horses on stage. One guy from up north heard me on one of my gigs and loved the tones I was getting from this Line6. He said to that he was putting his JCM in the market and get a rig like this one...I am totally satisfy with this rig..this rig protects the reputation of the vendor..

    Loving Its Tone

    By Dangerous_

    from NorCal

Comments about Line 6 Spider Valve 112 MKII 40W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Note: I own the Mki version. There are differences, but they are based on tonal preference.I started doing live session work with an R&B artist and while my PODxtLive + 80's Peavy combo had some flexibility, they lacked tone. I picked up one of these + the Mkii controller & can?t say enough good things about the amp.Great flexibility & warm tonal characteristics. I put some Mesa Tubes in the power section and got a tiny more grit out of the amp. I agree that the Master is a bit touchy at low volumes & that the amp really is LOUD, but minor sacrifice for a good sound in a live setting. The direct out sounds great through most house boards as well. Coupled with my ?72 Les Paul Black Beauty, I?ve gotten compliments on my tone from a majority of the musicians & sound techs I?ve worked with ? never happened with my POD & my Marshall JCM 2000 stack. If you want a true swiss army knife of tone, I recommend trying one of these bad boys out.
