I bought this pedal the first day it came in at Musician's Friend, and it's never left my rig.First of all, there are 3 delay types (Digital, Analog, and Tape) and 11 delay modes. What this means is that for each of the 11 modes, you can have Analog, Digital, or Tape delay. That's a total of 33 different sounds.I run the pedal in stereo and it just shines. It's fairly quiet, durable as a tank, and the delay modes are all useable. It has normal modes like quarter note, half note, eighth note, etc. and then throws in a filter sweep mode, 3 different stereo panning delays, a ducking mode, and a kickass reverse delay. The TRAILS switch is great for ending songs and letting echoes just swirl around then smoothly dissapear. The tap tempo and MOD knob add even more tweakability. Depending on your delay type, the MOD knob adds a different type of modulation. Digital gets chorus, Analog gets a nice, convincing treble rolloff reminiscent of analog delay pedals like the EH Deluxe Memory Man, and Tape get s added "wow and flutter" that sounds so much like the real thing, even experts can't tell. IMO, this pedal blows the Boss and Digitech delay pedals away. Looking for a great STEREO Delay (sorry, MXR Carbon Copy and Way Huge Aqua Puss, both Mono) get this one. It will do everything you need it to and then some.

I recently bought this pedal and fell in love with it. It has great features and I love the tap feature on it. The swell feature is great and it has many possibilities. But here is the problem: the pedal produces a hum like it is nobody's business when it is plugged into the adapter. I first was running the power through a Visual sound daisy chain but it was buzzing. So I bought the Line 6 adapter thinking it was a phase problem or power rating. Nope, it buzzed on with Line 6 adapter also. I took it back to the store hoping it may be that pedal in particular. Nope, myself and the guitar tech there plugged in a brand spankin new one and it did the exact same thing. She said she has heard quite a few complaints about the Line 6 pedals humming/buzzing. They wired their in house display and it did the same thing. I don't want to play on batteries cause this thing eats through them and it is a pain to swap them out every time. Bottom line, if you want to play this pedal with batteries, go for it. You will not be disappointed. If you want to plug it in (which is the more convienient/economical), don't waste your money cause the pedal is very loud with that hum. Great product Line 6 but fix the wiring issue and it will be outstanding! (I traded the pedal in and got a almost new/used DL-4 which is amazing!)

2nd one died too - choose another!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I got one of these and a few weeks later it had no out put. I had to pay shipping to send it back to Line 6 and wait three weeks for a replacement. That was about a year ago. Now this one died too - the green light comes on, then red, then nothing. Warranty is a year so I'm out of luck and $150! That's my last Line 6 product!

Not that bad... but...

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

If you want to power your pedal using a daisy chain system, walk away right now and find something else. It uses a multi-plane ground system (whatever that means), so on your 1-spot or whatever, the noise is louder than the signal. Eats batteries like nothing else, and the L6 power supplies are flimsy, but at least they don't make noise. If you don't mind the power supply, this is a great pedal (but probably too pricey for that caveat).

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I had this pedal on my board but it sounded so digital that I had to remove it and replace it with my trusty Boss DD3 which is also digital but sounded much better. Now I use MXR Carbon Copy which is analog and so far it's the best sounding delay of all, simple and to the point. If you play through a tube amp go analog but if you must go digital make sure you run it through the fx loop for a decent sound. Hope this helps anyone reviewing this or any digital delay pedal.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal was amazing. Very straight easy to learn how to use without even taking a peek at the booklet. As for everyone making complaint about the hum or "noise" can easily be fixed. I have the verbzilla, so i used that as the power supple (having heard about the deathtrap this pedal is to batteries) and the second i plugged in, I heard the noise I had been warned about. So I went back and exchanged it for a different pedal and wasn't as pleased with the features as I was with the echo park. And this 2nd time around, i bought a 1spot power supply and a daisy chain so i could use my other pedals, and BAM! The hum was gone. Long review made a little longer, try a different power supply to get rid of that hum... or don't stand so close to your amp. Either way, I have no problems with my pedal. Thank you Link6, you've done it again!

Lots of options

By Anonymous

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I am pleased with the diverse setting options the echo park has. One of the reasons I chose this over the DL4 was the dotted eighth note tap option. The tap tempo is a life saver, and has not let me down yet. I usually switch between three settings, and can easily do this between songs, but would not try it in the middle of one. I would ideally like true bypass as it does take away a little tone when off, but nothing terrible.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is a fine delay pedal so many options a variations in sound you can achieve, one thing you need to look out for is that this is defiantly NOT just a plug in and play, it might be even a little much for some one who is not used to the ranges you can achieve with this thing. The thing is a tank as well its fallen of the top of my half stack so many times and its still kicking but yeah good pedal.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've owned this pedal for years and it's my favorite delay by far. This pedal has an amazing tape delay setting and modulation control. The tap temp feature and reverse echo feature are also really great. It can be a bit noisy if you use a One-Spot or similar power supply, but it's quiet if it has its own power supply. You can get some really trippy sounds from this unit.

Sweet Pedal

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've had this pedal for over one year and I'm still finding new ways to use it. Note that you will get a volume boost when engaged and you should use a separate power supply to avoid noise. With either of the Line 6 supplies, or a One Spot, the pedal is totally silent. Tap tempo works great. It's very easy to tap out the song tempo on the fly--quite helpful if the drummer isn't steady. Swell feature with multiple repeats can sound like a bowed instrument. Dotted eight-note feature creates that U2 feel with some practice. I also use the pedal with an acoustic guitar on "unplugged" nights and it sounds cool. The knobs are a bit small, but they had to fit a lot in a small space. I like how the DL4 allows storage of different delay types. This would be very handy during sets so that I wouldn't have to bend down between songs. However, I don't have the space on my board for the larger pedal. Over all, I'm very happy with the Echo Park.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this because my favorite guitarist has been using this on tour. It is so fun to explore all the things this pedal can do. Your options are endless with this, and it's really easy to use. I don't know why anybody is saying this thing is the noisiest pedal they have. It has not been noisy at all for me. This is a DELAY pedal. The sound after you play is the what it is SUPPOSED to do. This pedal can do some amazing things, my only concern is finding enough songs that I can use this with. If you don't write songs or know a lot of songs that need these effects, it might not be worth it, but for me, this thing is permanently attached to my pedal board.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal just gives an all-around all-star performance. It has a great variety of delay types, most of which are incredibly easy to understand and differentiate, and all of the settings are easy to use. The learning curve here is pretty simple. Some people have been less than enchanted with the single switch design for a tap delay, but I am enthralled. If you're at all competent, it's easy to use--just put it toward the front of your board (if you don't have an accessible location on your rig for this, then why are you buying this pedal in the first place?). The only reason I would not buy this pedal is if you are hoping to hook it to a tap tempo with your other delays. I imagine drilling into one of these pedals would be next to impossible, as well as hideous.

The Echo Park is perfect for long or short delays. There's really not much you won't get from it, and the tap tempo feature is especially useful. This pedal will not let you down!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Very easy to use and set up. Many different functions to serve many purposes. I was in search of a delay pedal that could do it all, and THIS IS IT!!! I was impressed with the very usable modulation knob. I have had modulated delay pedals in the past, and most of the modulation settings were not usable (for my taste) because of the extremes. Even in the full position, the modulations sound very organic, and not abrasive in any way.

It also has a very easy to use tap-tempo, and with the 3 different voiced delays, and they delay type knob, this pedal is very versatile.

I will not be searching for a delay pedal any longer! This one is a keeper!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal blew me away. My other guitarist has a Boss DD6, and I always wanted one. I used to play a Line 6 Flextone II head, but sold it for a Peavey Classic 50 4x10. I have a Boss ME-50, but needed another delay for what I was doing. I asked for the Guyatone MD-3 for Christmas, but got this instead. At first I was skeptical, but this thing blows everything else away. Great pedal, awesome sound, amazing features. Kudos to Line 6.

    More Than I Expected

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

Flat out this pedal is a great delay pedal. I used to try and stay away from Line 6. But I was looking for a delay pedal and gave this one a shot. Well this one won me over.At first the knobs and switches looked overwhelming, but if you dive right in it'll come to you in a snap.I constantly find new ways to use this. From just adding slight little echoes to give my sound a serene and warm feel to using it to create huge soundscapes. If you've ever watched Isis when they do the thing where the one guitarist is just up there making all these weird atmospheres and textures, this pedal will be a good start to doing stuff like that.As for durability, this pedal is pretty solid, but I guess it has to be for how hard you to stomp to engage it. It has this double action switch so if you don't want use the time knob you can tap your tempo by hitting the foot switch, and when the manual says to stomp engage, it means STOMP. This was a bit weird getting used to at first for timing. As for powering this thing, don't bother with a battery, this thing eats them like a bag of chips between five guys watching a football game. They should include an adapter. I have an adapter with daisy chain cable so it wasn't a problem. Another thing is I heard a lot of people say the barrel for the adapter on Line 6 pedals, but mine fits normal ends no problem. This is a superb pedal, but if you just want a basic delay pedal to have one, I wouldn't suggest this one.

Okay, so after having this pedal ever since it came out, this thing has truely been there for me. It can DEFINANTLY handle road work. It's been banged around all the time, and it works like it was new. This is as close as you're going to get to the DL-4. Truely worth the money. Get it. You won't be sorry. I rated it a 9 because the DL-4 is a 10. =)

    Arguably My Favorite Delay Ever

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I know what you're thinking when you read the title of this review, but let me assure you that I'm of completely sound mind and informed opinion. I've owned tons of delays at this point--a few different Boss DDs, a Line 6 DL4, the EHX Stereo Memory Man w/ Harazai, some crappy old DOD, and so on and so forth. Of all the echo units I've come across, the Echo Park is the one I most regret having parted with. In fact, I'm currently trying to unload the DL4 and the SMMH in favor of buying two more of these guys.Despite the ability to save presets in some of the bigger, "better" pedals (and, c'mon: is 2 or 7 presets really that many anyway?), I found their delay patterns to be unweildy and the tap tempo to be imprecise. I never had any issues like that with the Echo Park! The Echo Park's sound is a little noisy, but it's kind of musical and fits in really well (depending on the type of music you play, I imagine). The analog modeling, with a bit of modulation thrown in, is stellar; the tape sounds decay so smoothly they take your tone from flat to 3D. The dotted 8th note setting is an absolute stroke of genius--rhythmic echos at any tempo!Though the knobs on the pedal are a bit on the small side and seem kind of flimsy, I never had any problems with them falling off or anything. My one complaint is that the footswitch tends to wear a bit over time, especially if you're a frequent user of the tap tempo feature. Blame your drummer for that one!If you're looking for a delay with great sounds that's really easy to use, look no further. I'm going back to the Echo Park as soon as possible.

This a great pedal, you can get lots of different cool effects with it and isnt expensive. It's noisy, NEVER use it on a daisy chain try to run it on battery or on a single power source. The thing under the switch that controls the tap tempo broke after a week I got it, it's made of cheap plastic. If you have the money buy a DL-4 or a Deluxe Memory Man.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Echo Park Delay Guitar Effects Pedal:

I've owned the Echo Park pedal for about a year and a half. I cover Edge style of music so the dotted eigths is a must. Sounds great with a tube amp with an effects loop. The tap tempo is a must have feature. What I don't like about it is that the knobs move around too easily. If I get it dialed just right, throw it in a bag the settings get messed up. If there were a way to save about 4 setting, it would be a must have. It does suck up batteries. Never do a live gig with a battery. Been there, done that, not a good experience.
