I really can't say enough about this pedal, it's got amazing distortion, and the built in noise gate is the best idea anyone could have had to add to this pedal. The three different distortion settings are great, I usually set mine on Pulverize for newer Slayer or Metallica sound, and set it to Metal for an Iron Maiden sound or an early Slayer sound. The noise gate works amazingly, although the pedal itself is quiet enough that you really wouldn't even need it. I set that on the first setting to keep it nice and dead quiet until I want to unleash the ear splitting distortion upon those within ear shot. The only real complaint that I would have about the noise gate is that it will cut out your sustain, but hey, for every good thing there is always a bad thing, and I can deal with having a low sustain. The scoop knob is also extremely helpful if really making your tone as deep and metal sounding as you could imagine, and for a more rock tone, you can even boost the mids with the scoop knob. Basically, if this pedal was a kid at school, it would beat up and take the lunch money from the kids that beat up the nerds and take their lunch money. Excellent value, I do not regret buying this pedal at all. The sound clips on the site really don't do this pedal justice, you just have to hear it in person and you will know just how much this pedal was made to kick.

ok first of all... don't let the sound clips fool you. I must have gotten a dud or something because the volume control is totally off wack... the volume is very low, i.e., I have to turn the volume on the pedal all the way up to get it to be close the equal to the volume to my other pedals that are on 1/4 - 1/2 volume. I have a Digitech Grunge and a Rocktron Zombie and I love both of them... don't get me wrong, I like the distortion pretty well on the Uber Metal and the pinch harmonics on the "Insane" are in fact "Insane" and the variety of distortion capabilities are amazing... but it sounds a lot different on the sound clips. it is very well built and sturdy although the knobs are crap, they'll break off easily. I'm sending the Uber Metal back and hopefully get another.. but right now I'm hoping its a faulty pedal because if its supposed to be that way then that is just a big load of blown money. And if you are looking for a good sound Metal or any kind of metal, hardcore, heavy rock, I would strongly recommend the Rocktron Zombie and the Digitech Grunge. they sound amazing and they're cheaper. and just to give you a random tip, to make the pedals, i.e. Zombie, Grudge, Uber Metal, etc. sound heavier, more clear, more amazing, just add some compression. turn the compression knob on 1/2 and add the distortions, that's is if you have a compression pedal. but anyway's ... I LOVE Line6 and would trust them to my life, and Line6 quality but please, I recommend the Grundge and Zombie, go with one of those.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:
BEST PEDAL EVER!!!! If you happen to have a peavey vypyr amp, set your amp to Plexi, and put on the clean tones. Then push this bad boy and listen to the metal tones destroy your mind!! It sounds like a whole new guitar! It is amazing!! It might take an hour or so to find the tones you like from the pedal, but from there on, it is absolute epicness. Be sure to stock up on 9 volt batteries though

Best.... Pedal.... EVER!!!! Even if you have the gain all the way down the sound is still amazing! I got it for Christmas because before I was just playing through my amp, but never again. This is the best pedal hands down. And don't even get me started on the built-in noise gate.
Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:
It is a great distortion pedal, with built-in gate. I think every distortion should have one. It has three distortion selections but I use only one, Pulverize.I read the previous review about mid not being scooped, but it does. I don't use scooped mids when live anyway, you won't sound distinct and clear. Mine is not quiet at all, It's very loud and distinct in fact.My Rig used to be BC Rich NT Jr.V to Uber Metal To Ibanez Toneblaster half stack and that was enough to get that beefy sound that we all metalheads look for.I used to have Boss Metalzone, but I had to use compressor with it to get that beef, but since I started using this pedal, compressor was off my chain.

For the amount of time I used this pedal it was awesome. Thought I'd never need another distortion pedal again. Then one day...Was using it all the time, got myself a couple new pedals, added them to the rig and now the Uber won't work, either in a sequence or just by itself. Plugged in the LED comes on so it has power. I hear a pop when I touch my cable to the output but when I connect it to the amp and run the cable from the guitar I can't pick up any incoming signal. Oh well. R.I.P. I've been interested in trying out an MXR Fullbore Metal anyway. This isn't my first Line-6 product to eventually lead me to regret my purchase. I also got a UX2 Audio Interface that came with about 5 computer programs, all of which were either garbage or "lite" versions, in other words, useless. Don't listen to their claims of solving latency either. LIES.Now I'm just waiting for my ToneCore flange to die (MXR Micro Flange, here I come)

i bought this pedal because i heard my friends line 6 amp and it had these distortion settings. It sounded bad ass. So I bought this with high hopes of a mean chunky distortion , honest to god it was the worst sounding distortion i had ever heard. total fuzz, no beef at all . the scoop option is absolutely worthless, adds more fuzz. 4x12, and it sounded like fuzz paper.only tolerable setting was mids all the way up, scoop all the way down. this pedal is worthless, overpriced and worthless. do not buy, you will be disappointed. i did find the best sounding distortion however, boss metal core with boss noise suppressor....just get those 2 items, you will not be disappointed in any way, period. the only thing it had going for it was the noise gate, as you need one for real distortion....but too bad the sound was horrible....needs all sound gated permanently.

this pedal is amazing, but there is one thing i can say about it, it is really quiet the only way to get the volume level you need if your gonna be playing with drums vocals bass ect. you have to run it thru a mixer which is what i have done, other than that it is a great pedal and i would recommend to anyone! its a must buy!
Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:
It has a ton of different distortion possibilities. The built in noise gate cuts the feedback really nicely, wherever the pedal is in the effects chain. The parametric EQ is the best feature on it, and it has a quite a lot of them. The mid scoop is where it's at, though. It really adds the perfect dimension to all of the different distortions.

I have had this for 7 years with no problems what-so-ever. I have stomped on it so hard it should have boken but its still holding solid. and it has all the sounds i want. i have tired other pedals for 3x the price and this works great. i have played this pedal through guitar AND bass amps with my B.C. Rich and it all still sounds good. i very highly suggest this!

I've played around with alot of distortion pedals at the music shop, when I started messing around with this one I instantly loved it.Anything you want this pedal can do it, from texas blues to death metal this pedal is the sauce. Also I've played many a style since 13years old, 28 now so your not getting advice from a beginner!
Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:
For 2 months I would take my Gibson Les Paul down to the music store and try different pedals. I alway came back to this model. When I play live I can play through my Marshall at ear splitting volume but stand in front of my cabinets and there is no annoying feedback squeal due to the built in noise-gate! Pure genius! However, when I do want intentional feedback / sustain, this pedal delivers the goods!
