I bout this pedal recently and am extremely impressed. It offers great fuzz and dirt with amazingly clear highs. Not only that, this pedal is extremely easy to use and doesn't sound manufactured. I run a Boss Blues Driver afterwards to clean up the tone a bit and a bit more bite to it. Overall, if you are looking for a natural sounding fuzz, this pedal is definately tops
By itself, i wasn't too impressed. But when you add it to a dirty channel of your amp, it's amazing. Great dynamics! You should use it with a boss mt-2 metal zone. Added a little extra something to it all.
Exactly like the original. If you want the sound of the british spank. you Have to have this pedal
I boughtMy first Maestro Fuzz tone in 1967.This was at the time cutting edge and a "Must" for all lead guitar players to get the "British Sound".I lost my "old" one in a fire.I just bought a reissue and it is worth every dollar. Now I can relive my 60's rock star days, even if it's only in my garage !
I just bought this fuzz box last weekend and I got it today. I've been playing it and it sounds just like every 60's recording that had a fuzz box involved in it. It looks exactly how it was in the 60's and sounds just like it did back then too. It definately isn't as nasty sounding as the distortion pedals they have out these days, but it sure does have a vintage fuzz sound. If you want a fuzz box that reproduces that same old sound that was made famous in the 60's, I would strongly recommend this one of a kind fuzz box.
As an avid enjoyer of classic rock, I've spent a long, long time trying to find just the right fuzz tone (pun intended - ha ha!) to lay down some '60s-style tunage.....until now! What I absolutely love about this box is that it sounds completely unique. You just can't duplicate it - hence why Line 6 (or any of the other 'modeling' FX companies) hasn't tried.Basically, if vintage-type overdrive is your thang, pick yourself up one of these.
By far the simplest pedal I've ever used. This early fuzz pedal is as distinct as it claims, very nasty and dirty, but with overall a higher musical quality than a lot of other fuzzes. One of my favorite features is the small cresendo the pedal creates when striking the guitar; your note(s) hit the pedal like a wall and your signal slightly dampens before "fuzzing over" with vintage fuzz tone (controllable with the 'Attack' knob). But new fuzz-freaks beware! This is nothing like the Big Muff or other popular fuzzes. Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" is a great example, but I use it for Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper" and Hendrix-esque stuff too. Very fun and intriguing pedal (seems to sound different every time I plug in).
For those of you who want chunky in your face almost obnoxious fuzz... this is the pedal you've been looking for. It sounds best at high volume and nothing like a fuzzface, big muff, or any others. If you follow the fuzztone with a big muff, the combination of the two is stellar!! It dirties up the big muff and you get the best of both worlds.
I got the Fuzz Tone free with a special offer, it's a good distortion pedal. It's not really my style, and I definitely wouldn't pay the money charged for it, but it is pretty nice.
