Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
Bought the Markbass 2x10 combo and really liked the amp but REALLY missed the built in compression on the my old Eden. Since I already dropped 1100 on the amp I figured whats a bit more :). I am not the best or smoothest player and my lack of skill really stood out with how clean and clear the new amp was.
Awesome delivery in 3 days. Had practice same night as it came so hooked it up and started jamming. After about 1 hour of playing and adjusting I could not believe how this compressor made my P-bass and cheap 5 string sound.. it was amazing. It was like 2 new instruments.. really.. I mean it.
The way that the harmonics jump out now when playing chord tones and the ability to attack the strings based upon the needs of the song without being stupid loud makes this a must buy if you are like me and need a little help.
Only downside is the light on this thing will blind you in dim rooms and make it nearly impossible to see when adjusting..but once set I doubt you will need to adjust it much. Looks cool though and if you have it .. flaunt it. Little black tape will fix it up if needed.
Best money I have ever spent since I started playing.

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
This pedal has everything I need for compression plus it gives me a really nice tube sound. I run solid state amps because they handle the road well and are cheaper to replace.
The Gain knob lets me adjust how much tube warmth I want which basically acts as a tube pre-amp. I love the sound of my bass when I play through this. It reminds me of vintage tube amps I've gotten to try but couldn't afford.
The compression is extremely smooth with no artifacting that I can hear. I've used it live and as my compression for recording. It took me no time to figure out the controls to really dial in how I wanted to run my compression.
I like to set my Ratio to about 1 oclock to take the peaks off my low notes and slapping and set the threshold really low to allow dynamics on quiet stuff.
Some advice if you get this and it "ruins" your sound. When you have separate Ratio and threshold, you need your threshold lower than your ratio usually.

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
I can now vouch for the other reviews. This pedal ships with a power supply. The tube compression really warms the sound without coloration and there is no headroom noise that is usually present in cheaper compression pedals. I use this primarily for bass guitar and it is really easy to dial in some awesome tones. It can be used to really stabilize the dynamics when playing high on the fretboard as well as creating a nice growl when you really squash the low-end. The true bypass is a great feature that works as stated.

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
I've been using this pedal none stop since I got it. Such an amazing difference it's made for me. I mainly needed it to bring my tapping volume way up to match my finger style volume. I pluck quite aggressively and needed a powerful compressor to help with that. The only thing I am unhappy with is that they did not include value indicators around the knobs. I would really like to know what ratio I'm actually using, or the release time in ms. but mostly the ratio. Other then that, everything has worked just as expected.

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
Happy with the pedal, still trying to find the sweet spot settings but overall I am happy. Warmed up my tone and helped with sustain as well. Only complaint would be no Battery operation so it must be plugged in.

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
The Compressore is one of the best compressors I have used in my bass rig in many years. Comparared to other compressors, this unit is more flexible and responsive to getting just the sound you're looking for. It's quiet, and does not color your sound but allows you to enhance it to improve attack and sustain, yet tame down loud transient sounds when slappin'. The unit is well made, and seems durable. The knobs are tight fitting and don't move around by mistake, so your settings stay put. Definitely worth the money, and better than other units costing more. I can't imagine my using my bass rig without it!

Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
I've used a lot of different types of compressors and never gotten the sound that I have from this one. This is the most musical compressor I've ever used. It's clean and quite. I can use it in the studio without worry. It is well worth the money. I have a few Markbass products and they are all top quality.
Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
... you get a great tone.
This this thing is noiceless (rare for tube gear), the tube is actually used in the compression stage (most tube compressors are optical with the tube ony in the gain stage), and it has tru baypass. No matter which way you turn the knobs, you might not get the effect you were looking for, but you get a usable tone for something. The Compressore never messes with your tone no matter what, it just gives you the squeeze you're looking for.
This thing will sit in my studio and get used every time I record.
You've got every parameter you need on a compressor. Forget two and three knob compressors, that's not enough control.
Metal construction, solid feel, and recessed knobs (you can't accidentally step on them) round out a piece of gear any pro would be proud of.
This may seem like an expensive pedal, but you are difinitely getting more than you bargained for. You can't buy another piece of gear that works like this one for this price.
Comments about Markbass Compressore Tube Bass Compressor Pedal:
I am using the Compressore with my Genz Benz Streamliner 600 through a newer Carvin 4x10. I use P and J basses, nothing more than 4 strings, and nothing Hi-Fi. I get a nice meat and potatoes classic R&B tone, and I think this pedal is an invaluable part of myt sound. It's very clean sounding, although it does impart some midrange warmth. It does not distort at all. If set in maximum Limit mode there is some noise, but its very quiet through 90% of it's range. Used as a simple compressor (not at maximum squash) it is very quiet and warm sounding. You may feel like it takes a bit off the high end, I did, but I'm the kind who likes to roll a bit off with the tone knob anyway, so this was in no way unpleasant or undesireable.
Ok, this is the area where the Compressore really excels. This is a pedal with all the features of a quality rack compressor. And it actually uses the tube for compression not just makeup gain (this is a big reason why it is so much quieter than other "tube" compressors).
Quality craftsmanship and heavy duty construction. This thing is like an armoured bumblebee. I'm not a stomp box guy, this actually sits on top of my cab next to my amp head and is always on, but I wouldn't hesitate to go stepping on it with heavy duty construction boots.
This is a fairly expensive pedal compressor, and well worth the money, but it's not easy to find and test out prior to buying. Reading reviews only gets you so far because you never really know if the person reviewing it is using it like you would. Some other companies in this price range (Aguilar TLC, and the MXR MX87) both have some great video and audio clips to give an idea of what their pedals do. The one video readily available from markbass featuring this pedal is pretty much garbage. I don't know anybody that would be after the sounds in that video. Spend a few bucks and get a real bassist to test the thing out.
The pedal is great, and I love the way it sounds, but I feel I took a risk in getting it I wouldn't have taken with some other pedals. I highly recommend it if your idea of good tone is in line with mine (but you don't really know, do ya?).
