OVERVIEW

Light and portable with a rich, clear tone and unique look.

Randy Jackson is world famous as a TV celebrity-he's been one of the judges on America's most-watched TV series, American Idol, since the beginning of the show in 2002. What some don't know, however, is that he's an incredibly accomplished bass player. His resume is vast and varied, and boasts such names as Carlos Santana, Jerry Garcia, Jean-Luc Ponty, Journey, Zucchero, Billy Cobham, Keith Richards, Aretha Franklin, Steve Lukather, Madonna, Herbie Hancock and many others. Randy has collaborated with Markbass to create this exceptional 1x15" cabinet.

Like all Markbass cabinets, the Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet is light and portable and offers rich, clear tone. The sound is deep and warm but has greater clarity and definition than other 15" woofer--and the cabinet features a cool, unique look, with ultra-durable custom tolex covering, and trademark Markbass yellow piping. This cab is the perfect match for the Randy Jackson Signature TTE 500 500W Tube Bass Amp Head.

FEATURES

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Purchased this cabinet to be paired with my TTE-500 and am incredibly impressed with the results. You get SVT/Motown sound without the weight or cost. The only downside is that the head doesn't have an effects loop. This cabinet is worth every penny and then some. It blows other 15s I have owned out of the water and weighs so much less than other cabinets that I own. The sound is far better than what one would expect from a 15.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I use this cabinet paired with the MB TTE 500 amp and Ernie Ball Musicman bass. Great combination for any gig situation that I have played. From small nightclub to outdoor venues, this combination can handle it. I have been playing bass for 40+ years and have used many speakers/amps and this RJ 15 is hard to beat. I have had a lot of compliments from other musicians in the crowd at how clean and full sounding this cabinet is. I also like the fact that the cabinet is lightweight and easy to load into my small vehicle. It is a bit on the pricey side but, I would highly recommend it to any bassist from novice to pro.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

Waited for a year and six months to post this review. Great bass cabinet. I have paired it with the Markbass TTE500 amp head. A great combination. I truly love the vintage sound this cabinet produces, all the while being able to be very punchy, tight and very good sounding. If you want lows this cab has them. This cabinet can shake and rattle and roll!!! Buy it! It's worth it! Great cabinet.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I have owned many, many Bass Cabinets over the years and decided to give this a try since I received a good price break, it was very light, and I had read many good reviews on its clarity and tone. Wow, was I amazed !! I powered it with my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 and everything sounded sweet & opened up nicely. You can hear & feel it all. I played for hours hearing new bass tone and harmonics...I play a Mike Lull Vintage Five and this Cabinet handles it all..One is all you need (drop a Mic in front for the PA), but I will get another.

After years of playing through 4 x 10" cabs, I finally realize what the B on my 5 string should sound like. Quick transients, deep low-end, and crystalline highs. Oh, man; this is it.

I bought this cab after choosing a TTE500 head. I am blown away by the clarity and warmth of the speaker. I have been using a Bassman Ten for 25 years. But after playing my basses thru the 151RJ, I realized I have been leaving lots of tone of the table with my old amp. Now, the bass tones are clear and delivered with a five finger death punch to the chest! This cab delivers whatever you can pump into it.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I currently work with several bands that all play different styles of music and venues, small to large. I own several different types of amps and cabinets and will use whatever I think will be the best combination for the job. I recently purchased the RJ 151 and took it to an outside show adding a 102p cabinet for the speakers, and used my Randy Jackson 800 for amplification. I had several positive comments from musicians attending the event who were standing out front and from my bandmates on stage. I personally loved the clarity and warmth the cabinet provided.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature New York 151 RJ 1x15 Bass Speaker Cabinet:

I paired the 151 NY with my Markbass tube 800.It sounds amazing. It has a clearer sound than the other Markbass 15s I've tried. I was using a Aguliar 212 that kicks but the weigt of 72 pounds is to heavy for this 60 year old.I can carry this with one hand and the sound is almost as good.I recently bought the 112 traveler Markbass for a smaller cabinet and it also sounds amazing so I got the 15 to pair it up when I need it. I dought I will ever have to but I will anyway because the 2 together is a thumper. The 115 NY is plenty loud for any gig.
