Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature TTE800 800W Bass Amp Head:

I bought this amp because I hoped to get a nice warm round sound with plenty of volume behind it. I used it with my Markbass New York 151RJ. To keep a long story short, this amp seemed like it was being pushed even at the lowest volume. I couldn't get the tone or the volume out of it that I wanted. I though that was a bit strange so I "A/B'd" it with my Little Mark Tube 800. The difference was like night and day. Because the Little Mark Tube 800 is tube driven and has the VLE and VPF filters (vs only the "Color Filter" actually a VLE) I can get anything I want and it rattles the windows. I think this amp was a good idea but it lacks power, warmth and versatility. I returned the amp the next day. Personally, I would (and did) buy the Little Mark 800 tube amp. It's more compact and performs much better than this amp..it's also got a mute function where the TTE800 does not. Don't get me wrong, this amp may be what YOU are looking for but definitely not for me. AND, I do own other Markbass products and swear by them.

Comments about Markbass Randy Jackson Signature TTE800 800W Bass Amp Head:

Lightweight and powerful, this head will drive one or two 8ohm cabs with headroom to spare. single XLR out to recording desk, FOH, or PA, if needed.
You can also run it with no speaker load using the XLR out-just turn Master volume OFF and use gain control to send a clean balanced signal to your mixer.
No frills, passive tone controls, tube compressor is very quiet and does not color your sound, there's a 'color' knob which adjusts your overall tone contour, massive gain and master output volume means plenty of power to spare.
I use a tuner before the head as a mute switch so thats not an issue.
The true tone of your bass is what's amplified here. No FX loop is not a deal breaker. Any noisy pedals in front of the head will be revealed and it records a very clean signal with no 'artifacts'.
Ground switch, detachable IBM power cord, and 2 Neutrik speaker outs on the back. Switchable passive/active input jack in front. Preamp and compressor tubes are European ECC83s which are the American 12AX7-common and replaceable should the need arise.
Cosmetically, there are cool LED's glowing under the powder coated grill, nice textured 'skin', and durable 'faux-leather' handle. Sturdy rubber feet and never runs hot. The control knobs move easily but are not loose, as in cheap. The MB carrying case is recommended for protection against bangs and bumps.
This is one dark and sexy hybrid bass head!
