I use a mesa boogie dual rectifyer with my marshall. Before I was using a crate. the marshall brightens up the tone, and makes the amp appear to be louder, but it seems to add way to much mid in my opinion. Great for rock players. It's very well built and strong as hell. But for the price it's really not that much of an improvment from my old crate cab. If I was to choose between the mesa 4x12 or the Marshall id go and get the mesa, esspecialy if your a metal player.
I played a Gibson SG with a Marshall AVT150HX 150W Amp Head on this cabinet and I was in awe. It had such a warm sound partially because of the amp head considering it was a tube powered but you can use just about any cabinet with celestion speakers and more than likely have good tone. I will definitely buy one
The cab is absolutely phenomenal...The highs are crisp and the lows are crunchy and think sounding and it fullens out the sound no matter what style you play
This thing is amazing. It projects notes so clearly even if you're using the heaviest distortion. I play a 7 string tuned to Korn's tuning and it has no dificluty producing those heavy riffs. This cab is well worth the money and it really doesn't feel like a hundred pounds because I was actually able to lift it, but the wheels still help. Go out and buy it since the price just went down.
You can never go wrong when you buy a marshall. This cab is amazing. I bought this cab new when I bought a used JCM 900 50 watt head. They work perfectly together. I'm not really sure what i'd do if my JCM broke because they don't make 900s anymore. This cab will work with any decent head out there. If you need a new cab BUY THIS ONE!
With the addition of a foot pedal you can get any sound that you want. This amp is excellent and the sound quality is better than I expected.
I had always wanted a Marshall Stack, and now that I have one I'm not disappointed.
Just got this cab yesterday, and it rocks! Every note is so crisp and clear even at high volumes. I got it before they raised the price, but it's worth every penny at it's current price. Go ahead and buy it, you know you want it.
so this is the last cab you'll ever have to buy. I've had it for about 6 months and it's my most valued piece of guitar equipment.Unfortunately, I have decided to get a tube combo amp, so i'm trading the cab in for the peavey valveking 212 pretty soon. I recommend this cab for anyone, any style of music, and level of guitar playing.
This cabinet... what can I say? It's incredible. It's so powerful it makes my ears ring for days. Such a clear sound. The distortion can be so heavy, and the clean channel can be so pretty and well... clean! I bought this with a G100R CD head at my local guitar store. I don't know why anyone would ever want to get rid of this beauty. I recommend you buy one ASAP!
I just bought this cabinet before the price was raised another hundred bucks. It's a great cab! I have a Marshall JCM900 head and I used to run it through a little JBL 1x12. You have no idea what a Marshall really is untill you play it through a 4x12 cab. This cabinet is great!
This cab is worth the money.
This cab is awesome. I have used many of them with a multitude of heads, and I have to say, I'd take it over just about anything. I recently played through 2 of them with my recently retubed 5150, and I was absolutely floored. Things were rattling off walls! The only reason I didnt give straight 10s in the ratings is that it could be constucted a bit better.
This cabinet is so sweet it still surprises me. This cabinet is well worth the money because the tone is the kind I dream about. I will never get rid of this cab and when the speakers go out I'll just repalce them. If you like Marshall cabs and want one like this BUY IT!!!
This cab is amazzing it is like night and day differnce with other standard cabs. if your gona buy a marshall either get this cab or the jcm 900 versionb. this cab rocks so hard.
I really like this cab. I like the sound with the AVT 150 Marshall head.
I use a rectifier with a recto 2 12 cab and a Laney 4 12 with G75-12's. I went to a studio and plugged my recto into a marshall 1960a cab. I wanted to toast marshmellows over both of my cabs.I have yet to hear a more beautiful sounding cab. It has the perfect blend of everything a rock guitarist craves! Do not make the same mistake I made. Just buy this cab no matter what head you are using- including Boogie!
For this price, buy it NOW. This cab is more in your face sound than the 196B with the slant top when you play in front of it. I only bought so I would have the A & B cabs. I like the B better. its bigger on top so a combo amp sits well on top or head wont fall off if bumped and smoother tone but the 1960A is still awsome. Girls love the look of these.
I bought this Cab with an AVT 150H head instead of the JCM head offered in the package on this site. It's cheaper, and I think it's enough for what you need. It's pretty heavy and awkward to carry, even with the handles, which is probably why Marshall built it with wheels. The speakers push more than you could ever imagine needing for a gig, assuming you're not playing at a stadium. I bought it used because I'm on a budget, and it's now about 5 years old. Holds up to almost anything. Even held up against a small flood in my jam room...don't test this at home. Plus, it looks pretty darn impressive on stage. Clear sound, does the job. I'm going to buy the straight cab so I can make a full stack jsut as soon as I get the $.
It's a great cabinet. It's loaded with 75W Celestions so it gives me the perfect sound. I use a Marshall JCM 2000 - DSL 401 for the head and it's everything I ever dreamed of. Don't ever turn down a good deal on one of these, new or used.
