There are far better cabs out there for less money. If you have to have the Marshall name on the front, I guess this will do. The way to buy the 1960a and 1960b is USED. I've had a few of these and while good, see my comment about there being better cabs for the money.
It's a cab. Speakers and an input jack.
Could be better for the price. Plastic corners, plastic handles, super tiny internal wiring.
For $100 or so less, you can buy a Splawn which is constructed light years better (no particleboard backing!) and the wiring is soldered. All steel hardware! For an even better value, look at WhiteBox, Avatar.

The Randall XL series cabs are nicely made to!!

Comments about Marshall 1960A or 1960B 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I've owned about a dozen or so Marshall 1960 cabs over the years but the newest ones sound amazing. I use 2 slant fronts (A) on top of 2 straight fronts (B) on stage powered by the Marshall EL34 100/100 monobloc power amp and I pre-amp that with a Marshall JVM-410H head.

I put my stereo effects in line with the inputs to the EL34 monoblocs and I set up one full stack on either side of the stage for separation. The sound is unlike anything I've ever used before.

The only knock is that the Tolex covering tears very easily, don't bump it against anything sharp or you'll cut it. I use the Marshall cab covers whenever I move them to keep from ruining the finish.

I practice with one full stack in the studio and if kept to reasonable levels will not overpower the rest of the band. But if you get into a volume war, you will win.

Comments about Marshall 1960A or 1960B 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

This is the best cab I have ever owned, and I havent own many, so my opinion doesnt really matter, go play one at your local music store and see what you think.
Solid, well built, cant wait to gig it and beat the shit out of it to see how it holds up
I got a smokin deal on a restock, british made cab, but even at full price these are well worth the money!

        1960B

Comments about Marshall 1960A or 1960B 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I have a pair of these 1960B cabs. They are good sounding, well made cabs. They work well with most amps. Amps I've used with these cabs are: 6505+, Triple Rectifier, JCM 900, VHT Ultra Lead, and a Diezel Herbert. The JCM 900 does sound a little thin through it and the Diezel seems a little too strong in the low end for this cab. Other than that, great cabs.

        GREAT CAB

Comments about Marshall 1960A or 1960B 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

I recently bought one of these cabs at guitar center. mines an older model, back when they were still made in england ( includeing speakers). I compaired the older model to the new version ( aka this cab) BOTH SOUND AMAZING. The England made speakers are still a bit better. This cab right here has a great tone to it over all tho. better for scoped tones. OVER ALL AMAZING CAB.

I bought this when I was deployed in 2009 along with a Traynor YCS100H all tube amp head. I finally got to hook it up and play it the other day, and I was blown away. The speakers are great, cleans are nice crisp and clear, and the distortion is so loud that you don't even need to bother with distortion pedal. I havven't put any efx through it yet but theres no dought in my mind that they'll sound amazing. Bottom line if you're looking for a good all around speaker cab thats affordable and reliable this is the one

I have owned this cab for a year now and run a Orange Rocker 30 through it with an LTD ec-400. The cleans are crisp and the distortion is HEAVY! I highly recommend finding it used though

Comments about Marshall 1960A or 1960B 300W 4x12 Guitar Extension Cabinet:

This is one of the best cabs i've ever had the pleasure of playing. Matched with a Marshall JCM800 its amazing, turn the volume up to 3 in a room and you'll be begging to turn it down. I've also seen it played in a battle of the bands competition with a 15W Orange amp head and it sounded spectacular. Trully it sounds better at a distance than it does up close. Highly recommend this cab...the price is the only downfall to this work of engineering.
