I spent about a month trying out acoustic amps and was able to hear about a dozen. In several cases I got to set up 3 or 4 and try them side-by-side to get a real comparison. I tested them all using my own Martin acoustic/electric so that the comparison was consistent. This amp blows away everything in the price range, and was better than several amps I tried that cost a lot more. The sound is incredibly crisp, clean, and bright. Both guitar and vocal remian very natural. The craftsmanship is excellent as well, with wonderful attention to detail. It has plenty of power and you can crank it way up without any distortion. It has all the features of other amps in its category but delivers them in a package that is classy, compact, and extremely easy to use. Getting the sound I wanted dialed in took less than 5 minutes. There is one subtle feature that was the clincher for me. This amp has a slick reverb control that allows you to fade the reverb across the two channels so that you can have reverb on just one channel or blend it between the two. The chorus can be applied to both channels independently. This means that I can put Chorus on just the guitar channel and use reverb on just the vocal channel or blend with the reverb mostly on vocal and slightly on the guitar channel. Bottom line is that you can get just the right ambience and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Thanks Marshall for setting a new standard!

I tried this amp in one the guitar centers and I was amazed by the quality and sound of this marshall amp. I even recommend it to my friend and he also bought one.But after a few months using it, suddenly a buzz or booming sound appeared, specially when I hit the G chord. I thought it was just my amp but my friend who bought the same amp also have the same problem. So I end up trading the marshall amp to a Roland JC-90 which is so far holding up for me.

I bought this amp a couple months ago to practice with the band. At first it sounded pretty clear and loud. Then, it startedcto buzz and deliver a bad tone. After experimenting with different guitars and amps I really wouldn't have bought. This amp.

I must say that I'm VERY picky about my sound/tone.
I would never get rid of this amp for no one! I have tried many acoustic amps, of evry brand name you can think of. The Marshall AS50R absolutely destoyed them all! I play a Yamaha CPX500II. Here's a little secret...First get your amp dialed in to your personal liking. Then, get yourself a BBE Sonic Maximizer stomp box, and run it thru the fx loop in the back. Then set both knobs at about the 12'oclock position. The sound is absolutely AMAZING!!

I bought this amp the other day. I love it. I have a Big Baby Taylor with a Martin Thinline 332 Plus pickup. The guitar sounds ok plugged up to a PA, but with this amp, it is a whole new guitar. WOW! This amp is also very powerful. I use it at home and at church. I highly recommmed it to everyone.
This amp works great! The XLR-out and two channels are awesome for whenever I play. It's everything I need. The only thing it's missing is more power.
I use this amp all the time and it has an unbelievable sound. I can have my guitar and amp turned all the way up and it is still crystal clear. You get what you pay for, so you need this amp. I use it for leading praise and worship in a room that is probably 40 x 60 and it has way more than enough power. I run it on 6 and it is balanced with our 250 watt PA. Marshall made this a quality amp and 50 watts is plenty of power since it stays so clear w/o any distortion at higher levels. Save some money and buy this instead of the 100w one because to play in a room larger than this amp would handle would probably already have its own PA system and then you could just mic your amp anyway.
Works excellent for acoustic guitar, but have some of the same problems when coupled with a microphone that other have had.
THis is probably the best amp i have heard my guitar on in a while. so naturally i got it. Its great for small gigs or just playin around on.
This amp is the greatest thing that I've ever plugged an accoustic guitar into! The power is perfect and the chorus effect is awesome. The only other amp that I would consider as a replacement is it's bigger brother the Marshall AS100D. Buy this amp, you won't ever regret it.
Just picked it up after doing side-by-side comparisons with other name brand accoustic amps -- Great in every aspect!
Tonal reporduction is great. I play a Seagull Cedar/Mahogany artist series through this amp and it really captures the warm tone of the Seagull. Only drawback is that Martin does not offer and guide to using the controls. Customer service was great at meeting my best price and shipped fast.
