Don't Forget

The AVT50HX is the head version of the AVT50X combo and is armed with the exact same killer features and tones. When driving the purpose-built AVT412XA (angled) and AVT412XB (straight) Celestion-loaded 4x12" cabinets, it delivers the extra depth and sheer total weight which only a Marshall stack or half stack is capable of!

If you believe that 50 watts of solid-state power isn't sufficient to gig with, then think again, because the AVT50X is definitely the exception to that rule! Its two footswitchable channels deliver glistening ECC83-driven clean tones and a roaring crunch that just oozes vintage authenticity. Contemporary, high gain sounds that pack an unbelievable focus and punch are also possible, thanks to the extremes of gain available, coupled with the closed-back cabinet and custom 12" Celestion speaker. Other features include a CD input, a headphone jack for 'silent practice', a speaker Emulated DI output, an Accoutronics Spring Reverb, a Series FX Loop and a sturdy LED footswitch (supplied).

So I bought it used and the reverb didn't work. No biggy. I got it home and plugged it into my 2X12 custom made cab which I've been running my Fender FM 2X12 combo through which doesn't give me much tone, I picked this thing up and it was like RAWR HERE'S YOUR TONE!! It was sweet and it pushes way harder than my fender, and after I dropped it.. My reverb came back.

good for good guitarists

I've had the Marshall AVT50 for five years. Since then I've accuired the Peavey 5150, the Marshall DSL50, the Trace-Elliot SpeedTwin C100, and the Lab Series L5. I like them all, but, when I listen to the recordings, the AVT50 tracks emerge as the most likely to survive. This is a versatile amp head. If you like the sound of Ronnie Montrose on "Town Without Pity", you're golden.

Good Cheap Head

I have had this amp for about a year. I bought it used, and it has never given me any problems, except for when it is on the clean channel it will sometime fade to distortion. It sounds great for metal especially! It is increidibly loud for only 50 WATTS!

Amazing sound w/out Spending $$$

I purchased this head along with the Vox V212 2x12 Speaker Cabinet. Wow! What a marriage. They sound great together. The head gives me enough punch to rock out with the full band without having to crank it. It also provides an output so you can run it directly into a PA.Only one problem so far and that deals with switching from clean to overdrive channel using the footswitch. When they switch, it is not a clean switch. It makes a little pop sound. I haven't researched this, but it only happens 1 way, not switching back and forth each time.Overall, I love this amp!

Now I know I may come of as an A... but I've played my fair share of amps and this one is actually supprisingly good sounding for its price, but I think people overhype it. I've played almost every marshall there is out there, and this is NOT a bad one. The things I'd recomend you look out for are the noise this thing puts out... redicilous! And also, and keep in mind it could have just been the one I played, but when I switched from OD to Clean there was a slight delay and a pop noise everytime. That would be a horrible thing to do gigs with. As much as I hate to say it, I'd say check out the Line 6 Spyder III amp. I played that one along side with this and wow... night and day difference in alot of the catagories, clean... dist... versitility. So check one out before you buy it online.

Plexi on a Budget.

I have had this 50 watt monster for a little while now and I have been playing with it long enough to say that I love this head. It is the closest you are goin got get to a Plexi without plunking down $2000I use top of the line effects by Fulltone with this amp and it is great. My OCD overdrive pedal on the clean channel cranked a bit is very tasty.I have not been able to achieve some of the tones of my hero Jimi Hendrix until I bought this amp.I like to stick to the clean channel cranked up around noon to 3 o clock and the rest with pedals. It sounds like a much more expensive amp.

I've got this thing hooked up to 2 4X12 Cabs. It makes 'em scream. Who would have thought a Marshall at this price would sound so good.

Best underrated 50 watt

Best Marshall available for the money. I've had a plexi, years ago , couldn't turn on 2 in clubs. This I can turn on 4 and it sounds very similar to the plexi on 8. Dollar for dollar it's the better deal. I love it!!
