Marshall MG100HDFXC Guitar Amp Head

Drawing on the vast experience of their design team, the Marshall MG100HDFXC amps are built to the same exacting standards as all Marshall products. Though compact in size, each one delivers a dynamic yet toneful punch, and they're all suitable for a wide variety of purposes including rehearsal, recording, and even live music work. The MG100DFX is a 2-channel amp head with special features such as FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping), CD ins, plus emulated line out, and emulated headphone jacks. It features digital effects including reverb, delay, chorus, and flange. With 100W, this is a fully gig-capable amp, and it retains all the features that make it great for practice, too.

The 8-ohm, 120W MG412AC Angled Cabinet is loaded with 4 - 12" custom-voiced Marshall/Celestion speakers that really crank out that authentic Marshall tone. Consummately road-ready with reinforced corners, recessed and side bar handles. Cool white exterior.

This is an INCREDIBLY versatile amp. the clean setting is crystal clear, crisp, and very modifiable. everything about this amp screams change. depending on the way you tweak your knobs or guitar, you can get an insane amount of sound out of it. Its got springy bass response, and twangy highs. Also, this amp is VERY loud. I have not turned mine up past "1" indoors, and it fills my basement with sound. outdoors, turning it up to five will give you a surprisingly clean sound. as for that "low end" Marshall garbage, I don't buy it. the only thing that will change in higher models is more channels, and its cheaper to buy FX pedals. its as good as Marshall solid-state amps will get, without being hand wired. I use a modified Ibanez Gio, and it makes this Cheap guitar sound relatively Decent, and my Lead Guitarists BC Rich Warlock sounds like a god.

What a great half stack. This unit is perfect for the small shows and what tone. I did not expect much from this unit, being a solid state. What a pleaseand suprise. I play a Les Paul and with this amp stack it gives me what sound I think you should hear. The two channels are perfect with the footswitch. My lead guitarist gave this the highest cool point rating. He said, "It sounds like a Marshall!" If you want to rock out, spend low dollars and have great tone, than this is the unit for you.

You cannot beat this amo at this price! The clean channel is fantastic! Sure the effects are not that special but thats what effects boxes are for right!

Great amp for its price.

By JVRocknRoll

I got this amp a while ago, And I really love the way it sounds for the genres of music that I play, If you want to play the heavier metals on this amp, you might need to get a pedal for distortion, but basically any kind of rock based music will do great with this amp.I use a Gibson SG and a Silvertone Session Master Pro, and the amp makes both sound a lot better than they did on my old amp.I love the footswitch that came with the amp, you can switch between distortion channels and effects, the only downside is that the reverb is a seperate effect, and doesn't run through the footswitch, it's either always on, or always off.

Not a Tube, but a Decent Halfer for the price

By SGshredder

The first thing your gonna want to know about this amp is that it will never compare to higher end Marshalls. It has its up and downs but overall for the price range its the best half stack for the $$$. The effects are kinda cheap I use the delay sometimes but other than that they dont really impress me. The clean channel will seriously suprise you, its no tube but its definitely a pretty full sound, good amount of bass and great clarity. The distortion on the other hand will...well it just sucks. I run it though a Boss MT2 meatl zone it actually shreds. But remember ITS NOT A HIGH END MARSHALL!!!

Great amp for the price

Just played one of these at the local guitar shop today, and I'm sold! As soon as I get my next paycheck, I'm going to start saving up for one. The crunchy and overdriven channels are okay, but a stompbox would probably sound a little better. What really impressed me was the clean channel. I set the gain and EQ to 5 all the way across, put about half the chorus on, set all the digital effects controls to 5, turned on the FDD, and heard the most gorgeous, sparkling clean I could have imagined. this amp can't be beat.

Delicious

By atypicalmystery

I just recently bought this amp as I needed a louder amp for my band. I was going to buy a different amp combo, but I figured a Marshall would be a nice amp to have for the meantime. And boy was I right. I really like playing on this amp. It sounds very good for the price. And the white looks a lot better in person. I would highly recommend this amp to anyone who wants a nice clean sounding amp with a limited budget.

This amp is simply amazing.

By Billy Dies

This amp has great sound and is perfect for practice and gigs. The only real problem with this amp is the fact that people will fuss over the price. I bought this amp for my band practices and now I plan to use it for everything. The color of it is beautiful as well. The amp has a clean setting, distortion setting, effects, and a switch to give it a more tube amp sound. The distortion is great and provides a sound going from older 70's style to newer metal. The effects provide everything from delay to flangers. I recommend this to everyone looking for an amazing amp for a great price.

By Axman9

I bought one of these and when I walk in the music room, it just cries out "Play Me". For the money, it's a great deal. The fan motor running bugs me but when the licks start, the fan sound 'disappears'!!

LTD 100HDFX

See all my reviews

I just got my very own 100 HDFX today at my local guitar shop. It is AMAZING! I upgraded from the MG50DFX which was a wonderful amp but too small for the things I'm getting into. Turned it on and it was even better sounding tonewise, a little bit of getting used to because it has a few more setting on it but thats not bad. I picked up a Vendetta and even that Screamed through it. My Gibson SG has never ever sounded better. The only small thing that I have yet to find wrong with is that if you set the clean channel to crunch it bleeds a little bit into the distortion channel and leaves a nasty tone after the note. Other than that another amazing piece of equipment I have purchased from Marshall.
