OVERVIEW

A tone monster with 3 channels: clean, crunch, and lead!

This latest addition to the acclaimed JCM2000 series is a smoker! The Marshall TSL 60 amplifier head deals up 60W and an all-tube signal path (4 ECC83s in the preamp, 2 EL34 power tubes). It also features footswitchable spring reverb with separate controls (for clean and crunch/lead). Channel controls are also dual; one set for clean (gain, bass, mid, treble) and another set for crunch/lead (gain, volume, bass, mid, treble, and a Tone Shift switch to scoop mids). Other controls include a master volume, master presence, and a deep switch providing a tightly focused bass boost that fattens the sound dramatically. There's also a mix control on the back panel effects loop. Includes a 5-way LED foot controller that switches between channels, and on/off control of the reverb and effects loop.

I just recently purchased this bad boy and couldn't trade in my Peavey 5150 Signuture model fast enough once i heard this Marshall. The features on this thing is unbelievable and the TONE? Let's just say, "why didn't i get a Marshall first instead of the 5150?" I am wating for my Marshall 1960A cab to show up any day because I know the tone is only going to get better. I am playing through a Straight 5150 cab and can't wait to see the Marshall cab set up right on stage right behind me!Is 60 watts loud enought? OH ME OH MY!!!

This amp is a waste of money. With Marshall, you just pay for the name. If you insist on getting one, save up for the tsl 100. The 60w just doesn't have enough power. At a decent volume, this amp feeds back like crazy.

The best amp I've ever heard!

By JS-LTriK

from Louisville, KY.

I love the sound of this amp. I no longer need distortion or overdrive pedals. I chose it over Soldanos, Fenders and other Marshalls including the DSL. It sounded better than them all. And by the way, I'm real particular abut my sound. I hope Marshall continues to makes these for many years to come.

Review

absolutely love this amp. been playing ten years, own a les paul and an sg with a dimarzio distortion. the tone is just so warm and...well, sexy. stick a lil wah in there and its quite sporgmatic. Im extremely tone conscious, i prefer this to the tsl 100 becuz it has a smoother warmer feel. can be used for classic rock, rock, country, even metal if you have the right pickups...btw, i suspect that people that dont like this amp dont use higher end pickups and are not aware of tonal woods. my sg is mahogany and its loaded with a dimarzio, les paul is stock *sg actually sounds better, but im upgrading the les paul to a duncan jb*

Classic Marshall sound with features

The TSL60 kicks out that authentic Marshall roar and makes your skin goose bump when you put it on 10 like you should with a Marshall. Great in the studio and live. I use it with the smaller straight Marshall cabinets and it drives them to total toneal heaven breaking up the cones and pushing them into maximum OD. Low end is excellent with this amp.

3 channel flexibilty with marshall quality

By Lespaul-JPPjQ

from LA Ca

3 channels with a shared EQ isnt bad at all. 60 watts is more than enough power to gig with through a 4x12. Tube tone rocks my sox off

Awseome Amp

This Amp Is Sweet i am a quite advanced guitar player and i am only 15. I think 60 watts is plenty enough power plus i think two tubes give a more organic sound. I am totally happy and satisfied about my TSL 60. I run it through a 1960 lead 4x12 slant cab and it sounds killer.

TSL 60 's are SWEET !

By PRSJOE

from Ottawa , Ont . CAN

I purchased mine in 2001 and I absolutely love this amp for it's awesome clean channel and very powerful lead channel . I don't use the crunch channel , AT ALL , because it shares the bass , mid and treb with the lead channel , so crunch is totally useless for me . The footswitch has never given me any grief and I only switch from clean to lead ALOT and I've had no probs . You must be very easy with the multi-pin connector for the footswitch as it would be easy to rough-up the socket or bend pins . The stock tubes lasted me almost 3 yr.s and I re-tubed it with Grooves and the tone got different but very nice . With tube amps , you must re-tube about once a yr. if your gigging / practicing alot . Overall , this amp has paid for itself and at 60 watts , I have no problems with hearing myself onstage whatsoever ! I rented a TSL100 amp recently and it was very predictable and equivalent to the TSL60 in tone .

This amp is versatile and user friendly.

By Cmor104

from Bakersfield, CA

This amp has a wide range of sound. The clean channel can be custom taylored from bright to a fat low end sound. The crunch distortion channel is sweet but when you kick into channel three things get sweeter. I use channel two for my rhythm stuff then kick in channel three for the leads. Good stuff!!!
