    The Real Deal

    By Anonymous

    from Undisclosed

I've used several distortion/OD stompboxes over the years, including: Boss Metal Core, Metal Zone, SD-1, Ibanez Tube Screamer, Metal Muff w/Top Boost, Fulltone, Keely, MXR and various EQ boosts. My main gripe with most dist./OD pedals is their lack of useable sounds throughout the 1 - 10 spectrum of their various EQ, distortion, and OD functions. But THIS box - wow. You can crank these knobs, or dial them down to zero and still find useable tones for a delectable palate of tone shaping nirvana. Mild tweaks produce subtle but noticeable variations for tone junkies looking for that sweet spot that suits their sonic impulses. With the switchable OD/Dist, and boost switch (for searing, liquid, screaming lead tones) I honestly gave this pedal more attention than any previous, simply due to it's wide band of useable frequencies and tonal options. From nu metal skronk, to Stevie Ray Vaughn, to Lamb Of God punch and everything in between, this box does it. My first experiments involved running it through the FX loop on my Triple Recto, and then the front. Both performed admirably with different, but extremely satisfying results. I wound up running it through the front, and have it's settings locked in for useable blending with my amps three channels (set for modern, vintage, and clean) and now have more easy access tones than I could ever hope for with the Maxon being off, on, or boosted, or in OD or dist mode.My main axe is a Music Man Axis, (2 custom Dimarzio Hummers)This is a crazy spectacular stompbox, and let not your heart be troubled by the price tag - in this case, you truly get what you pay for.

Even better then the Ibanez Tube King TK999...

    By Mostai

    from Atlanta

I played with the Ibanez Tube King for years now. I heard about this pedal and wanted to give it a chance. When can I say... this pedal is even better then the TK. The addition of the boost switch is awesome, and the Overdrive switch make it even more versatile.Highly recommended!!!

    Excellent & versatile

I have used and owned a number of high quality Overdrive pedals and this is the absolute best. It is relatively expensive, but still give it a 5 star rating for value because it's so versatile and includes a noise gate. Awesome.

Best sounding Overdrive pedal I have ever heard

This is a great overdrive preamp. Run your Marshall on the clean channel and let this pedal handle all of the overdrive. You will love it. I do!
