Comments about Mooer ShimVerb Pro Reverb Effects Pedal:
I purchased this pedal mainly for the octave effect, and that effect works nicely. Sounds like a choir, and the amount, in relation to the reverb, can be adjusted, which is great (there's no adjusting possible with the shimmer effect on the Boss RV-6). That being noted, there's just too many downsides for me to keep this unit: When the reverb switch is turned on or off, you get the loudest click I've ever heard in an effects pedal. If you plan on turning your reverb on and off in the middle of a tune, forget this product, unless you're happy with leaving the "trail" effect on. With "trail" on, the click is reduced to almost nothing. But why have a trail option if the off position renders the pedal useless because of the click? The other shimmer effects (+3, 4, 5, 7 or 9 half-steps) are interesting for a moment, but if you're playing melodies you want "understood", they quickly produce so many random-sounding notes, that it all becomes a blur, no matter which interval you try. Only the octave is usable if you want any remotely clean lead. Finally, most of the knobs are incredibly small for an oversized pedal. Don't expect to be able to use them in middle of a performance. If I were to keep it (which I won't be), I'd definitely take out an extended warranty, because nothing feels very solid on it, especially in comparison with Fishman or Boss pedals, most of which cost less than this one. The best I can say is that if you're looking for one (or two, with the preset function) unique reverb sounds, you can probably find them with this very tweakable pedal. But if the reverbs you seek are pretty standard, there's pedals that will provide them to you at a fraction of the cost, or headaches.
