OVERVIEW

ABY with independent input level controls for the perfect mix.

The Morley ABY Mix guitar mixer and switcher routes 1 signal to 2 inputs or 2 inputs to 1 output. So you're at a gig, with your electric and acoustic-electric guitars, but only have a single amp. You want to be able to jump between the electric and acoustic-electric guitars, but you hate the constant cord-changing and the loud pops you get when doing so.

The Morley ABY Mix pedal tackles this obstacle so you can get back to doing what you love-rocking out on your axes. The Morley ABY Mix pedal lets you choose A, B, or A and B combined for mixing two different instruments. Two bright LEDs show you which signal is active. The unit is true bypass and passive, so it will work without a battery (a 9V battery is required for the LED to function). Designed with a cold rolled steel housing, this rugged pedal will stand up to the rigors of the road, or wherever you need a quick instrument change on-the-fly. Warning: Do not use on powered speaker lines. You will damage your amp, speakers, or both.

Morley pedals are designed for musicians who want more than just the same old pedals built the same old way. This pedal contain innovative designs, clever features, and bullet-proof construction. Each and every one is hand-assembled in the U.S.A. with American-made pride.

FEATURES
  • Main Input

Add looks in-accurate.

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

You could loose a lot of potential sales because of incorrect description. In the March 2010 Guitar World magazine page 38 it describes the switch as "Buffered, Active circuit." This should make the unit a true active mixer. The previous AB switch has a signal drop when both channels are activated. This new mixer should be a great tool and can't wait to get one.

Didn't do what I bought it for

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

I bought this to take the split pick-up signal from a Parker and send them to two different amps. Plug the magnetic pickup into one and the piezo into the other, right? Wrong. It "mixes" the signal and sends it to both amps. So you can use it to plug in two instruments and have the option of two amps, but it does not keep the signals discreet. I'm sure it works fine if you want to plug one guitar into two amps or two guitars or keyboard and guitar into one amp or something like that. Doesn't work for what I bought it for.

Amp Switching

By LucasEarl

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

If you intend to run two guitars to one amp this might work great but as far as running to two amps forget it. Very Noisy and if one of your amps is a high gain model you better like buzz.

Could not be happier. Some said it was noisy and colored their sound. Nit mine! Put ut first in my pedal chain and I'm ready to go.

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

There are lots of possible uses for this unit. The only thing I need it for is to run the signals from two instruments into the unit and then send the combined signal to a single rig. I have been using the basic Morley ABY Channel Switcher for years, but with that unit the signal levels of the two instruments drop significantly when using the combined A and B setting. With this Mixer/Switcher, there is NO signal loss and the levels of the two incoming signals can be adjusted. I have not turned either knob higher than the second marker past unity. Generally I leave both knobs at unity and turn them up or down for fine tuning the volume mix. It is slightly larger than the ABY Channel Switcher and despite what the MF description says, it absolutely does require a power source in order to function properly. (I got the Morley adapter because the fewer batteries I have to change, the better.) Outstanding product!!!

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

I bought this unit as a way to mix in a cheap theremin (output only) into my signal going into a mono amp, and was hoping to experiment with it in other ways with a stereo amp setup.

1.) This unit did not work for me without a battery/power supply. Period. Not even as a simple pass through (guitar in - guitar out). Fortunately, i had an extra power supply around, so i was able to get it to work.

2.) Once powered, the unit does work as advertised, however, it is very noisy for some reason. Even when not mixing two signals, just simply plugging a guitar in, and running that guitar out to the amp adds quite a bit of hum to the signal. I don't play with a noise gate, so that was an issue using it all the time.

My workaround was to simply switch the cords going to my amp between songs, and only use the ABY combination when i absolutely needed it.

Overall, it works, but definitely not as well as some might claim. Given the choice, i would not buy it again, and would look into other options (most likely more expensive...you get what you pay for)

The major con is the noise introduced into your signal, regardless of how it is hooked up. I could forgive everything else if the thing just didn't hum as bad as it does...

Comments about Morley ABY Mix Guitar Mixer and Switcher:

Works great as expected. I love the ability to boost your volume. Only problem is that when switching to a clean channel and the volume on the ABY is turned up, the channel won't exactly be clean because the volume on the ABY also boost gain and overdrive, leaving you with a slightly distorted sound which is annoying when trying to go on a clean channel
