The other two reviewers are, simply, wrong. You can use any power supply - I have it hanging off my one spot, with all my other pedals. And as far as the taper, for swells, just don't put it first in the chain, or - same as an Ernie Ball or other pedal - it interacts with your guitar volume and that screws up the taper. Plus if you put it last, it doesn't change your distortion, etc., it just makes them louder or softer. If it is before the distortion, it changes the amount of drive when you use it. Much better after. In fact, you can use it first if you adjust the taper by bending the LED's up and down or widening the little slot that lets the LED shine through (two common mods)

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

I recently changed out my ancient Dunlop passive volume pedal (from the 70's) for this Morley mini .
WOW sooooooo much quieter ! I wouldn't call it mini though it takes up as much real estate on my pedal board as the one I took off but all in all a really great pedal .

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Had the pedal a short while and haven't had time to fool with it much. The only thing I have to compare it to is an EB VP Junior. Seems like the odd noises in my signal chain have cleared with the Morley. There seems to be concern about powering the Morley with a pedal board. All the specs seem to line up with my Gator board power and I've had no problems with hum or whatnot. The stroke on the volume is shorter than EB, but I think it's just something you got to practice with and it'll be ok.

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Couldn't wait to get this in the mail and when I did I plugged it in and was highly disappointed no control at all. The volume would not kick in till the pedal was pushed down to about 75 %. I tried all the adjustments per Morley and still could not get an even swell. The volume would come in then wham full volume. I honestly worked on adjustments for over two hours I never could get an even swell. It's going back today. But I must say the staff a Morley were great.

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

I needed a volume pedal to control backing track volume going to a PA from a tablet. So far, This volume pedal is very quite; does not add noise or scratch sounds like potentiometer volume pedals tend to do as they get older. Very compact and easy to store. I like the small amount of travel from off to highest volume, since it takes minimal effort to go back and forth between off and maximum volume. (One of the few things still made in USA)

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

Had mixed feelings about this mini volume pedal from some reviews I have read, but so glad that I took a chance!
              It works great!
Fits right in the pedalboard and uses the same polarity 9-Volt adapter plug as Boss or any popular brand.

Many have expressed bad reviews on it not having enough travel, and while it is not identical to most volume pedals, you will get used to it really fast, and sometimes appreciate the short travel for a quick up or down volume level change.

The volume pedal will never get scratchy or dirty in the signal path because they use light and a sensor to control the volume level for a smooth and dust-free operation for the life of the pedal.

Some people are even modding the optical sensor inside to allow for more travel.

I have played guitar full time professionally for over 28 years and this mini-Morley has my seal of approval even though I think Morley wah-wah pedals suck! lol.

Personally I have not seen another mini pedal like this and I a very glad they made it!

It does not alter any tone or levels inherently in your signal path. No buzz, humm, hiss, noise, scratchy pots, the pedal does not squeak and feels solid and durable.

I would buy this again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anybody who needs to save real estate in their rigs and on their pedalboards.

              Thank you Morley.

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

This is a nicely designed pedal except for its abrupt and short volume swell. The volume is off in heal down position and does not start to increase in volume until the last 25% of pedal through toe down . it would be a great pedal if it had a gradual increase through the whole traverse from heal down to toe down . It is well built. I improved mine by carefully enlarging the slots that allow the LED light to pass to the sensor.

Comments about Mini Morley Volume Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal is very compact and I can get it on my pedal board with my other pedals. It controls volume optically unlike most other pedals which use "pots". You get a much cleaner sweep of sound with the optical design. I have another, larger, Morley pedal which I modified according to articles you find on the internet. This provides a much cleaner sweep from low to high and not the sudden jump from low to high volume as per factory setting.
