Great Pedal!

Does what it claims, period. No harmonics lost, no delay.
Only a 7 because it's a little awkward to go from lower to higher. i.e. to go from a whole step drop to just a half step you gotta go "all the way around the horn" and hit the same button 7 times. Maybe there's a shortcut here, but I haven't found it. This is THE ONLY drawback I can find.
Totally opens up the set list and makes eliminates re-tuning or using multiple guitars. My only regret is that I didn't buy it when I first saw it for less. Still a value at this price, tho. Again, it 100% does what it claims to do, and in my 25 years experience, that's pretty rare.

I was seeking a pedal like this to do dropped tunning ranging from tunes from Sabbath to modern rock bands in B standard. This pedal offers everything that would make you think you can do that but the thing is it sounds bad. I could hear my standard tuned guitar and dropped sound simultaneously which bothered the hell out of me. I don't know if it was a defective unit but I didn't like the pedal at all. I know that Morpheus also makes the Capo and Divebomber. I however saw a month later after returning the Droptune, the Whammy DT. The DT can drop tune up to one octave, however combined with the Whammy portion of the pedal you can effectivly drop your guitar 3 octaves (although who would want to) plus you have capo features of raising your guitars pitch plus the whammy effects. It's a much better pedal and for slightly more you get many more features.

Avoid this product unless you don't mind the noise or digital artifacts. I returned mine.
I was hoping this pedal would solve the need for having multiple guitars with different tunings, but it did not work as advertised. It's noisy (hiss), it digitizes your sound, and there are digital artifacts that get more noticeable the lower you drop the tuning. I suppose if you were playing live and everything was extremely loud, it wouldn't be as noticeable but I intended to use this for recording. It's a shame really, since the idea is great. I believe in time it will be possible to drop tuning successfully with such a pedal, but we are not there yet.
It seems to be physically built well, but the noise and poor sound quality make it only a 5 in my book. There is also disclaimer on the back of the unit also claims that the technology inside is from Area 51 (I'm not kidding). If that's the case, we finally have proof that no aliens ever really had any involvement there after all since this thing sounds like crap.
Should sound better for the price being charged.
Comments about Morpheus DropTune Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:
Wow! This was the best thing I've ever bought. It is worth every penny. The downside is that when you drop it...it takes some of your high end away so it sounds more bassy..I mean you can still tell it's a guitar sound but it's definietly more bassy. I used to always have like 3 guitars in 3 different tunings and when i would switch there would always be so much dead air because it just took a while to get the one guitar off and the other on. This thing is an instant tune on the fly...if you love your one guitar and want it for every song then you definietly need one of these.
Comments about Morpheus DropTune Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:
I have this on my pedal board and it is not going anywhere. I have had singers decide at the last minute to drop the key into Ab or Eb and rather than stressing I just say OK, and its done.I think it does very well on 1/2 to 2-1/2 steps down. Anything below that starts that phasing sound and depending how you have your amp settings are you may find it to be annoying. The Octive = unity, setting I use often also and it sounds great too.I put 4 instead of 5 for the Quality because even though it is supposedly a "true bypass" pedal it is not. I definitely drains a little tone even when not on (mostly the highs). I build an effects bypass pedal to remedy this, but I'm very protective of my tone, others may not seem to really care.

Works great for me. Should work great for you too if these features are something you are looking for.
I like to record in standard key, The band I play in tunes down 1/2 step. I have numerous guitars, one of them an Ibanez with the double locking tremolo bar. What a pain those are to tune, re-tune, up and down, up and down. The Morpheus takes care of that for me. Now I can leave all my guitars in standard tuning and use this to drop it down.
For those that play cover tunes, and those tunes include the newer style songs that drop down to a B, this is a great peddle," would save you having to have that ""special guitar"" already turned down.
I noticed no latency that I hear about in other reviews or comments. The tone stays true. I compared it also using my auto tuner and it locks in perfectly.
I think the only thing that they could have done with this unit is make the harmonizer section separate that works in conjunction with the drop tuning", rather than jumping back to standard tuning to work in these modes.
Good solid box.
I guess it would be a good value. Could have been higher priced, could have been lower. For other peddles I've seen, this is pretty comprarable.
Comments about Morpheus DropTune Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:
this pedal is way cool it sounds much better then any RP pedal board sounds & any other down tuning pedals the germans finally got it right loli use marshall amps always the british made marshalls perectly & the germans make great pedals& i use a gibson lespaul guitar with all this & man this pedal is so worth the money i love it so much im gonna buy the capo morpheus & use it with my basic set up.....my set up is ( marshall stack/gibson les paul/morpheus D-tuning/ slash wah/a digital tunner/) i use my marshall pedal to switch from clean to distortion-directly....
Comments about Morpheus DropTune Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:
This pedal changes everything. You can now have the action of standard tuning with the heavy sounds of drop tuning. I love it. I'm always using harmonics and they ring loud and clear. The only thing I will say is that I notice i have to tap harder when I'm fret tapping. For those who say it robs tone: Not true. There is a slight notice, but when you put it in a live situation as I have, you won't notice. In fact i am surprised at how little tone it takes. I'm picky, and I barely notice it. Also, you guys do know that drop tuning with or without this pedal means you have to redo you're amp settings right? If you eq you're amp at standard tuning it will need it again if you drop down. For those who say there is lag time: I do not see this at all. I've played several Van Halen songs with this pedal dropped down 1/2 step and do not see this. I've also played several Sabbath songs to track and there is no lag time. For those who say it doesn't pick up all the harmonics and sounds: It does. There is a trim level on the back of this thing to adjust. The bottom line is many who are complaining about this may not be using good pickups or equipment. This pedal like every other pedal functions at its best when used with a quality guitar and amp. For my money, I love it. I can now carry one guitar and this pedal. I predict this will change a of of things in rock/metal.

I've been playing out with this for about a year now, this has saved me from taking four guitars to my gigs. I only use this pedal for one full step down tuning and it has worked and held up well. Used for distortion and clean. Glad I have one.
Comments about Morpheus DropTune Octave Guitar Effects Pedal:
I was looking for something that would really be un noticable for key changes in order to save time switching guitars in the middle of a set. NOT IMPRESSED! too much lag time and too many dropped notes..couldn't stand using it
