I was looking for a decent small amp with a good sound and a little power that would be easy to transport since I'm always lugging guitars and amps around. This amp is perfect. It's lightweight and packs quite a punch for 30 watts. Better yet is the tone and sounds I get out of it. I've owned Peavy's, an Ampegs, a Fender, and a Roland, but, to my ears, my '69 Les Paul Deluxe sounds better coming through this little Beheringer than through any I've played through. The clean channel has full, warm sound and the amp modeling channel offers a nice variety. If you're looking to play heavy metal, you might not get the sounds you need without a pedal, but, without additional effects, I can get all the sounds I need, ranging form a dirty, bluesy, hard-rock, stonesy sound to a clean, reverb rockabilly-country sound to a decent punk rock growl. My Gibson still has the original pickups, and, through some amps, I get a lot of noise, but the clean channel is CLEAN. There's a little noise on the overdrive channel, but, compared to other amps I've played through, it's minimal. I probably won't use most of the effects except when goofing around or, perhaps, recording, but the reverbs offered are excellent and very useful. Having the effects contained in the amp saves having to carry extra pedals and reverb units. I can take it anywhere without multiple trips back to the truck - guitar case in one hand, amp in the other. I wish it had some of the features of the bigger and more expensive units in this line, but for the money, I don't thing you can beat the sound and features. It more than serves the I purpose I bought if for. This is the best smaller amp I've ever used.

I can't recommend this amp for anything but bedroom use. One simple reason: the jacks are made of cheap plastic. My son likes to plug things in, and my amp is no exception. While I'd like to have kept him away from it, he stuck the guitar cable in at an angle and snapped the jack. I've spent a lot of time re-soldering (and re-engineering) the jack because of this. I could have probably fixed it under warranty, but if the amp can't hold up to the something that frankly doesn't meet the abuse I've seen a good amp take on the road, I'd rather work on it myself.Quality of workmanship aside, this is a great value for a beginner or someone who just wnats to put it in the corner and play in their own home. It's not going to be reliable as a working man's (or woman's!) amp. It is perfect for someone who wants 99 preset effects that are fun. My take: spend a bit more, get a bit less in terms of bells and whistles, but get a quality basic amp and work your way up to good effects processors.

Rockin' Amp

For 30 Watts, this thing roars. With a countless number of effects, the tone possibilites are endless. I have a cheap guitar, but this amp makes it sound like a high end guitar.

Good not Great

By SomeguynamedWILL

I have had it for 2 years now, after a while it starts cracking a little, it may just be my guitar though. The distortion is decent, and the effects are good, although for some of them you need a cabinate or stack to that is a disadvantage. Overall it is a good buy.

V- tone music

This is one of the new generation of Behringer modeling amps and it may redefine your expectations of what a modeling amp can do. You just don't plug this amp in and go at first, it may take quite a while to dial in a good tone on this amp with your guitar because of the 27 different presets for modeling tones available. The amp seems to favor distortion settings, but the Fender tone is beautiful when dialed in correctly on the amp. The effects are nice but the 15 different reverb settings have the most use while playing guitar. This amp is a great buy and I would choose it over the Fender, Line 6, Marshall and Vox 30 watt modeling amps.

Not that good after all

By Lucas-vZT-L

from Miami, FL

When I bought this amp I thought it was a great deal cause it came with all the effects and tuner and footswitch and it's 30w, but once I tried going above 1 and a half on master volume, it started buzzing like hell. It's not because of the switch on the guitar, it's the same noise, but lower, and its not the guitar, so I know it's the amp. Now I see why I should have gotten a Marshall.

Not Bad For The Bucks

I've had the GMX110 for about 3 months now and am finally getting the controls figured out. The effects claim some 99 different sounds but I found about a dozen were worth using - the knob style EFX control is cumbersome and time-consuming to switch. And my last gripe is that the overdrive channel is nothing too special - suitably gritty with my Les Paul but a bit lacking with the Strat. All that being said, for $150, how much can you expect?? It's got pretty decent volume, a fair variety of sounds (the modeling effects did little for me, tho) and the online support I received from Behringer on a modification question was quite good. For the money, I think you'll be satisfied.

What a Great Little Amp

By Kinger GUitar Man

from Lapine, OR

I have played in Bands and traveled all over the country in the 80's playing the club scene. I got out of Music and just recently decided to start playing again. I looked at a lot of Amps and this little Behringer is totally awesome. FX are great but not really user friendly. If you want a small Amp that has all the features of more expensive amps...buy this Amp!!

Nice

By namethatwillappearwithyourreview-4wu18

I have had no complaints with this amp. It is really great overall. It is cheap, and it just sounds good. I can get almost any sound I want out of it, and it goes very loud for its size. You can get good distortion and good clean, and it comes with a pedal that you can change chanel and effect with, which is real nice. I have even played at a small gig w/ it, and it was great. I had the vol. at 5 and it was plenty loud enough. I reccomend this amp to prety much anyone, b/c it is great.

WOW!!!

By Anonymous

I just can't say enough good things about this amp. Many have slagged it for poor clean channel tone. Hey, try adjusting the tone controls - they work! Sure, there are better 30 watt amps out there, but nothing IN THIS PRICE RANGE even comes close. It wouldn't be my first choice as a gigging amp, (but it would make one hell of a back-up), but come on... it's a $150 amp with amp modeling and digital effects! Not all of the effects are great, but come on... it's a $150 amp! This amp is without a doubt the best value for the money on the market.

Very nice amp

By TelMaster

from Enfield, CT

I just got this amp in yesterday and so far its working like it should. I have been playing guitar for 7 years and the sound that comes out of this amp is unbelievable. I know my guitar is crap (it's a Jay Turser Tele) but it sounds awesome on this amp. I didn't think the effects would be that good, but I was wrong. The 99 effects are out of this world for an amp that cost as little as this one. Also there are a ton of hookups on the back of this amp. I looked at Marshalls and Line-6 amps but I liked what this amp had. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up.

Dead DSP section

By SkiingObsessed2007

See all my reviews

Went to Guitar Center to try out this amp. After being impressed by all the reviews here. One reviewer mentioned the fx section died after 4 months but the clean channel was ok. That is exactly what I saw at Guitar Center. The clean channel was ok but the FX section constantly displayed "d2" and none of the buttons for FX did anything. Two days later this model had been removed from 'display'. Other Behringers, the bigger ones were not really bad. The features and FX return and all the inputs/outputs. Those are lots of good features, but will it really work ? The clean channel was nice. Not bad if you have a multifx unit. How long will this amp last ? that is the question.

a million diff. amps in one!!

By Anonymous

I got this amp 1.5 years ago , gets played on every other day. this amp has 99 fucking preset effects on it. 12 reverb,10 delay,14 chorus, 7 flange and etc settings on it.even better is that it has OD channel that you can adjust the speaker sound, type, and gain type. 27+ different Overdrive tones to tweak to. good for jazz, blues, classic rock, thrash metal,nu metal;get any sound you want without buying tons of pedals or amps.i almost feel stupid for buying distortion pedals but i only have a boss heavy metal, digitech death metal, and boss OD/DS for purpose of extra pre amps and that the boss pedal are asymmetrical distortion and the digi is a gain 11.....thats personal reasons to buy pedals but other wise owning this amp will provent you from buying cases, batteries, and etc for pedals.behringer is an all in one amp.for a good price.

Awesome features, crappy distortion....

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

I bought this amp about 2-3 months ago and it's probably the best amp in its price range. The effects are amazing -- you get wah, chorus, phaser, flanger, and pretty much everything else you would need. The distortion is excellent if you pick the strings VERY lightly. If you pick more than one string or if you pick a string too hard, you will get a horrible popping noise that completely overrides the sound of the string. The only way I have found to get rid of that popping is to crank the mids and highs, which basically means you can't do any punchy nu-metal stuff or anything like Pantera. Other than the crap distortion, it's perfect for the bedroom shredder.
