For only [$], what you get is a light, portable solid-state amp with a handy tuner, line-out, headphones-out and line-in for practice, and with:a) very mellow, jazzy/bluesy, low-midrange cleans b) very smooth, rounded and warm overdrive,c) nice digital effects (although limited in how much you can control them), among which reverbs sound particularly great and useful. The reverbs are surprisingly good in that they are not boxy and tunnel-like but chiming, bright and wide open. The only parameter for any effect is how much of it you will use, and they were not shy about those, either - any of the effects becomes a special effect already around 3 or 4; over 6, you're producing sci-fi video-game sound effects. You will not get screaming metal distortions out of this amp - it was not intended for that kind of sound. What you can get are good, thick, liquid overdrive tones for anything blues, classic rock and grunge can throw at you. It's small and portable, but it will hold its own at a rehearsal; I will use it for small gigs, too, only connected to the PA, because it's versatile and sounds great, and, given its size and the price, so close to a tube amp that it makes no difference. Is it fully convincing and tube-like sounding? No, but given how kind it is to a working stiff's back and wallet, I can live with the difference only guitarists would notice anyway.Bottom line: this is a small amp anyone should have in his collection.

This amp does clean and crunch pretty well. I felt it had tube-like sound for a 35w 10in solid state. I was very disappointed with the lead tone. When you turn up the overdrive, it cranks harder and the tone gets bigger until you max it out, it loses tone and acts like it shifts to different circuitry, and the sound is cardboard-esque without sufficient gain, low end, or high end clarity to suit my hard-rock/metal needs.
I could have put up with the tone had I not experienced immediate quality issues. The power cord does not plug in snugly, and the gentlest nudge will cut power to the amp. One 4-5 occasions while playing, I would turn up the FX level and no effects would come through the amp.
What I wanted was a small simple practice amp that had some character and a few FX. If classic rock is as much gain as you need, this amp will get you there. Beyond that gain level, or if you want quality build, I'd steer clear. It's a shame, but without a more natural gain progression, solid components, fx that function properly and a nice speaker, this amp just doesn't do it.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
I LOVE this Orange amp! The first Orange I ever had was the tiny little Micro Crush that ran on batteries..cool little amp, but I always wanted a little bit nicer of an Orange. My main rig is a Marhsall JCM2000 DSL100 with a 1960a 4x12 cabinet, so sometimes it's too loud to play through. I wanted something small, yet budget friendly for my room, and I had been looking at this little Orange for quite a bit. Honestly, I'm so happy I got it. I've been playing this thing more than my DSL100 lately! I love the tone; it's def. got that Orange tone to it, even though it's a solid state amp. I figured out a great EQ setting, and I'm loving it with all of my guitars. I run a G&L Rampage through it, an '89 USA Strat with single coil lace sensors, and a Parker P-42 Pro with Seymour Duncan SH4JB's in it. The tone is great for low gain rock, and it's high gain gets nice and thick for belting out some chords. The speaker needed about a week or so to be broken in, but after that, I love how it sounds. The onboard effects are cool too, and it's nice to be able to have some delay/reverb/chorus when I don't feel like lugging my Boss digital delay upstairs, or my Boss chorus. It's an awesome little convienient amp!
The only thing that i'm not crazy on is the tuner...this doesn't really matter to me because i've got my korg pitchblack and numerous korg handheld tuners, but it doesn't seem to be accurate really. it'll get you in the general area of where you want to be, but it won't get it perfect, and that can be a pain when i'm using my Rampage with it's Kahler trem. But again, I don't really care because like i said, i've got many tuners.
Overall, i'd buy this amp again if something happened to it! Love it!

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
This is a very stable amp. I use it with my Gretsch 5122 and it sounds very clear. Only defect is the tuner, it's pretty off, so I bought a Korg clip tuner. I use this for Jazz, Blues, and soft rock and I thoroughly get my moneys worth. It may not be worth the full price you pay but I used a bunch of coupon codes to lower it way down. The overdrive isn't all that is expected but the 16 effects the amp has make up for it. The reverbs sound great and so does the flanger. I love this amp and would take it to play a show or even record.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
I was looking for a good second practice amp to go with my Vox AD30VT, which I love. I have always been a huge Orange fan and have played through half-stacks on occasion, although not my own. After playing through a Class A Orange, I became an immediate fan of the amp and so with no real need to spend a ton on a 2x12 Rockverb, which is a killer amp, I relegated my Orange dreams to the lottery winner pile. So when looking for another practice amp, I went right to an Orange Crush to check it out. So put my Orange bias aside and here is what I think. The controls are easy to use and very responsive to even small adjustments which is impressive for a practice amp. The internal effects are of decent quality, not as good as my Vox, but close (better than a Line 6 or Fender). The lack of any type of tube pre-amp is a bit of a turn off like the Vox, but for a solid state amp its got beyond decent tone. The internal tuner is a real plus and I use it all the time. Let's be real there is a real difference in tone between a 10" and 12" speaker and so you have to just understand that when looking at practice amps with 10" speakers, but if you look at it in the context of practice and close miking for a home studio, it is fine. The Crush seems to have more power than its speaker can handle, but its too soon to see if that is going to be a problem long term. Tonally at higher volumes the Crush seems unbalanced with its power to speaker ratio and so I use other amps for higher volume playing. Basically this is a real good solid state practice amp at a good price if you understand what you are buying it and using it for. Its also an Orange which gets high marks in my book for just being cool to all of us who love Orange amps and at least want to own a piece of the legend, even though these are made in Korea and the big bad ones are still made in the UK. All in all a good solid state practice amp with some cool features and above average tone.

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
THis Orange is very nice. very versitile tone. can go from super clean to chunky metal. effects are a bonus and work great. every knob on this works and i mean when you turn them from 1 to 10 the sound changes dramaticly. this actually has gain and overdrive knob and you can mixnmatch. you can hear the overdive sound change as you turn it up, wish it came with the Orange overdive pedal.
only gripe is aux input signal gets distorted through the effects and overdive settings, but works great as a loudspeaker setup clean.
Headphone jack and built tuner are convenient for practicing
If you use this for what its meant you'll be very pleased. not gonna melt faces off by any means but it rattles my windows on 4

Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
This is a great amp. Sounds amazing for the price. There's a reason it's probably one of Orange's best selling amps. Affordable and great quality. I'm in a band so I need more "umph" to my volume without blowing the speaker out. I perform live and I plan on replacing this Orange amp with a Vox Custom AC15C1 Tube. But this even sounds good if you hook up your pedals to it.
Comments about Orange Amplifiers Crush PiX Series CR35LDX 35W 1x10 Guitar Combo Amp:
If you are looking for a great sounding practice amp with more than average features, or in need of an affordable quality tone solution in a home studio set-up this is a good way to go. I swear by Orange, their production line amps are just that good.
This little amp is the complete package for your amplification needs and a little extra.
The amp build is quite solid and it has all the looks and feel of the orange line. Loaded with everything you need to just jam out at practice and gig worthy of small - medium size venues.
1/8 Aux in, Line out, Footswitch input for overdrive, Overdrive channel input, headphone out and input for instrument, obviously, you cant ask for more than what this baby offers.
Boasting the tone contol of a much pricier amp, you have control of Lows, Mids, Highs, Volume, Overdrive, and Gain. The onboard effects make it much more fun to experiment with if you are looking for some modulation or time-based effects (i.e. Reverb, Flanger, Chorus, Vibrato). It is also light enough to carry anywhere, and small enough to fit into the backseat floorboard of a small car.
To quote another reviewer "When Orange does amps they do it right."
The build and sound quality of this amp is absolutely irresistable for the price.
Made of solid wood, NOT PARTICLEBOARD, optional orange or black tolex, and signature woven grille speaker cover, it has the impressive asthetic appeal of the orange amplifier line.
Sound quality is suprisingly sweet for a solid-state amp. Add a little reverb, dialed in at the first knotch and it creates a sparkle reminiscent of the small Class A valve amps at similar prices (vox ac4 with less boxiness, marshall class 5 etc). I have the AC4 and Class 5 and I can say IMO that this amp is a worthy contender to them and a welcome addition to any home studio guitar arsenal.
At this price this amp is next to unbeatable! Nothing else needs to be said.
